I really love these vlogs Rachel! I always learn something new. And today I learned that different regions say scones differently, even in the UK. Glad you got your berries this year! Have a great holiday! 🌴 🏝️
Yay Martin looked so plesased with his joggers and you can cross them off your todo list! lovely catch up, you can't beat a homemade scone on a autumnal day. hopefully your holiday will give you the relaxation you need and help with anxiety
Great vlog Rachel. I say scones too, must be a northern thing. Great pants and lovely fabric. I've not made trousers yet but I definitely need to give it a whirl. I had no idea what a Sloe berry looked liked. There adr some down the road to us and I'd always wondered what they were lol. Have a great holiday when it comes.
The green trousers are gorgeous and such a great fit! Always lovely to see Martin. The scones look delicious. Enjoy Barbados, the beautiful crystal clear water, and being pampered for a week!
I bought the viscose satin and it was a dream to sew and looks stunning in a salt water slip dress. In case you needed any enabling. I have the other mystical range also. I love it ❤❤❤
Love the joggers you made for your hubby & thank you for the tips re the trousers. I’ve not attempted trousers with a fly zip yet & have been thinking about the Theo pattern, as Tilly instructions are normally great - so thank you for your encouragement. Fully appreciate what you were saying about work, not easy in your field of work. Great blog Rachel & hope you have a super holiday in the sun & relax. ❤
Hurrah, Martin's joggers are done, they look good on him and he is a very good model!!!! Yummy looking scones, the green trousers look good too. Have a great week.
Your Blouse looks lovely as well as your hair. Martin seems very happy with his joggers 😀 well done for getting such a great fit on your slim pants! I’m sure you’re really looking forward to your trip to the Caribbean and I love how your scarf top turned out❤
I've had the same with Rainbow Fabrics. And both times the out of stock fabric was the one I really wanted and the other items were 'extras'. They really need to get their inventory control sorted...or at least give you the option of cancelling the entire order if one item is no longer available.
Love your videos, I wish we had two way video to talk, oh wait that’s called zoom or FaceTime, but then everybody else wouldn’t be there, LOL.. love the pants and coat. You mentioned trying to do 2 videos a week and while I love that, I worry about you burning yourself out. Have a wonderful holiday, I think you need it. I’ll see you later
Surrey born, lived in London most of my life and happy to confirm your pronunciation of scones is 100% correct 😆 Thanks for the thanks, you're very welcome, love your vlogs Janis ps really pleased to see Martin has his joggers!
Yay for the joggers. And your lovely new fabric and plans. I also experienced periods of intense anxiety when I was perimenopausal. At the time I didn't know it was a menopause thing and couldn't work out what was going on. If I had that time again I would explore HRT as it was miserable at times. My ormal self-management strategies helped me cope but couldn't take the anxiety away. Then one day, some years later, it was gone. It was definitely just hormones. Best of luck. ❤
I'm Spanish but my husband is English from the south. He calls them scones rhyming with gone so I call them that too. To be honest, it makes more sense to say scone like you say it but then gone and shone should also rhyme with bone but they don't. English is a very difficult language to spell! 😅 On a more serious note, I know exactly what you mean about health care. I actually gave up my job after 25 years as a midwife due to burnout. The area where I was providing specialised antenatal care and the team I worked with where the best. However, things became more difficult and the stress of making a serious mistake which could have affected someone's health or even their life really got to me and I had to give it up as it was starting to affect my health. I miss my colleagues terribly and I miss the work too but I know I have done the right thing. I so understand how you feel and I hope things improve for you. Enjoy your well deserved time away in Barbados 😊
Your videos are such fun. I am inching back into sewing, after a major stash sell off, and tidy in my sewing room, even selling all but one of my sewing machines. A result of a mentally damaging kerfuffle a few months ago, that was really hurtful & got me down. I actually have a new pattern and a new lovely cut of fabric to make a nice cozy sweater cowl neck top to wear to my knit/crochet group this week. We are working like mad on chair/lap/wheelchair blankets for our local hospital, so the nurses to give as gifts to those who may be on their own in hospital this Christmas. My lovely 4 year old Granddaughter (the best thing ever to come out of Covid), has been such fun, and will be spending Xmas and New Year with us this year, along with her Mom & Dad of course, but lets face it, the kids are what make Christmas fun. House full of fun and looking forward to all the madness. I can rest up in January when it is dark & rainy. Weekends without the husband. I used to feel the same until we retired just as Covid came on. Now, when he goes on a road bike cycling road trip with the guys, it is lovely getting a couple of days to myself. Enjoy your trip to Barbados. It is wonderful there. We have been there twice but in February. You are going to love it. Glad you have a good relationship with Sian. My sister subs to her and finds her tutorials with fully lining things very helpful.
Rachel, I'm truly sorry for the atmosphere at work. Nobody benefits from nastiness and it's so not good for your health! Martin seems so sincerely appreciative of his joggers. So nice of him to model them.😊❤
Gosh you do repeat yourself so much but that’s a classic perimenopause symptom too!!! I think most people are struggling financially and are having to be-careful, so you aren’t on your own but we just have to get on with it and I guess going to Caribbean isn’t cheap either. But can’t have it and spend it too!! No words have logic will still a perimenopause brain of anxiety I got obsessed with fire and had to have fire extinguishers in the kitchen and fire blankets!!! And don’t get me started on driving anxiety. It’s probably going to be a tough few years, yes years . Thank goodness i had lots of really thick hair because that’s now falling out at a rate of knots. Men have it so easy lol
Do you neighbours know how their dog is behaving? Years ago my sister’s dog was doing the exact same thing unbeknown to her until someone put a polite note through her door. Luckily for her she was able to solve the problem 😅. On a different kind of note, I do enjoy your vlogs, seeing your makes, fabrics and plans. Also I do appreciate you being truthful with your opinions on pattern reviews, fabric sellers and life too. I’m lucky enough to be retired now but although I sometimes miss interaction with clients I certainly do not miss my job……if that makes sense! Take care of yourself ❤
Good job Rachel, getting Martin’s joggers done and he is so pleased with them! Love the blouse you are wearing at the beginning of your vlog. I know it’s for wovens but do you think it would work with a soft jersey fabric please? ❤
Out of interest did your Rainbow Fabrics animal print viscose satin have all the holes in it? I ordered and washed mine and was horrified by the huge holes in it. I thought it was my washing machine and went back on the website and saw the description and photos mentioned it. I’m sure the description had changed. I checked the description I downloaded to my stash hub when bought which was different and no mention? Don’t think I’ll be able to cut out the skirt I’d planned! Martin’s joggers look great 😊. Enjoy your holiday.xx
This needs to be reported to rspca as the dog is stressed and suffering and causing you to suffer. I think they would investigate it. You should record the barking sessions and note the times. X
Design for Hope dress will turn out lovely 🥰
Love the area where y’all walk! Simply amazing 😻

Nice cozy coat!
Scones are comfort food and you obviously needed comfort that day. Thanks for sharing your week again Rachel. 🧶🌈🍓💙
You are not alone on the perimenopausal anxiety ..... enjoy your holiday ❤
Thankyou for the information on trouser fitting. I really appreciate it. I am having a trouser fitting issue.
Loving Mr. Stitched Up!!

You live in a gorgeous area!
Really enjoyed this Rachel 👌. Have a fabulous holiday 🏖️🤗😘
Lovely vlog! Looking forward to vacation in the Caribbean.
Rachel I know exactly what you mean about work stress, I was a med sec for 35 years! I’ll say no more! Hang in there my love 🐾🐾💕
Loved your video, I was a RN for 25 plus years, I can safely say never worked where DRAMA was not present, first had understand....
Yay for the joggers. And your lovely new fabric and plans.

🤣🤣
That's really funny! 😂

Londoner here and they certainly are scones (as in tones, bones, cones) 😊
Yay!!
That's good enough for me!😊

They do yes but refuse to do anything about it 😞
Oh no that’s such a shame for the dog. They shouldn’t have one! 😡
You could report them to your local council via the noise abatement team.
We call them scones here in Chicago! (Just like you!)
Good job Rachel, getting Martin’s joggers done and he is so pleased with them! Love the blouse you are wearing at the beginning of your vlog. I know it’s for wovens but do you think it would work with a soft jersey fabric please? ❤
The Reynolds? Actually yes I think you could use a jersey
@ Thank you!

In Australia, we say scone the opposite way to you and we have a town called Scone which is pronounced the same as you do…….go figure 😂
Is Isaac all done with Uni? I’m sorry I don’t know how it works in the UK. Here in the US university is at least 4 years so I was just wondering.
His is a 4 year course but he’s taken a year out

Poor doggie. It’s anxiety behaviour
Poor next doors dog

@@patriciaweekes2291 I have reported to council x
Nothing worse than a continuous barking dog.... mind yourself and do some self care ❤
