Guys, there’s a much easier way! You just have to kill the rival leader from the same sex, then just travel to another map. Then just come back right away and run straight to the pack territory you’re aiming for the leader and start howling, the leader might be courtable at this point. Play on Easy just to be sure! Let me know if you guys succeed! 😊
when courting any rival pack member, after you sleep in the territory and they come for you, you need to walk out of their territory then walk back in (without sleeping) and it will give a “pack wolves ahead” notification like a dispersal EDIT, my reply FIXED SOLUTION: okay so after some discussion with my friends, one of them found out that you actually have to sleep 15 times (around 5 in game days) before the rival pack leader is countable again. I noticed this same problem and they helped me out, so this is why everyone has been struggling to take over rival packs after the saga
It works It seems like it’s random when the other pack leader will stop being mad at you, so you’re just going to have to wait and keep trying until they accept you.

You did it mostly right man. I saw you posted and decided to try it out myself and basically just stayed in the outer hexes after killing the same gendered leader. I would enter the hex, howl, sleep, get chased out, and repeat for about 2 game days and at some point no wolves showed up to chase me out and I ran in the territory deeper and caught the scent of stranger wolves with the heart, I didn't howl and just slept and the courtable leader showed up with all the other courtable wolves in the pack. I did this on the Lucky pack.
I just did this, it took me a while to figure it out properly so thanks for making a tutorial !! I’m so glad they added this as a feature and achievement. It’s also so fun to have a family so early
Saw this and decided I should give it a shot... I think I got VERY lucky. Chose a male wolf, first sleep in rival territory gave me the opposing male pack leader. I killed him, left, slept a couple times outside, then once in and immediately got the popup saying the pack leader is looking for a mate. It took me less time to do that than it did to track down two elk :') Now I have a family of 9!
What worked for me : 1- Kill the alpha of the same sex. 2-Kill all adult wolves of the same gender as you ( Those who can take over as leaders ). 3- Power of youth skill. 4- Do not harm pups and other adult wolves of the opposite gender. 5-Keep leaving the territory and not fighting until the leader becomes romantically interested in you. This took me four days in game.

You can only end the year if all pups are full experience and 80 pounds. Now if your pups die you just have to survive with your pack until the year ends.
Oh this is what I've been struggling last night, I was so excited to try this out in the Saga So I was a female wolf then I killed the female pack leader of a pack I wanted to join, and then I finished the hunting two elks quest so I can start finding a mate, then I bumped into the opposite gender pack leader again and I thought he would be courtable since he lost his mate but there was no option to start courting, he just still acted aggressive toward me lol 🤣😭 Maybe it's because when I killed the other pack leader, he was there too Anyone knows how to really court pack leader? 🤷♀️
@@Rolling_Girl_falling_foreverHi there, I just successfully courted the leader and now I'm greeted by the whole family, it's overwhelming XD. I don't think there's a specific period of time, but I just kept going into their territory then sleep, then if there are other packmates, I just ran out and come back to sleep again to pass the time, and wait until leader showed up as courtable :3 I'm a step mom now lol 😂
I played as a male wolf and killed the pack leader and i tried waiting 3 days for the female pack leader to become courtable but it never happened. She eneded up getting another mate. So i tried again and then before i could court her, she left the pack and new pack leaders came in. This is so hard and i was playing on easy too
So my first time doing this, it actually went well. It was pretty fast (I played as a Male). I tried a second time & it took about an hour… (I was like 30% close to just failing due to the time limit on finding a mate- although I wonder what happens if you let the time run out. If anyone knows lmk). I even, for some reason, had to kill *TWO* pack leaders before I was able to court the proper leader needed. (One being a 5 year old, the other being 2). Needless to say it took way too long (I played as a female). My third attempt (which is still in progress), hasn’t been good either. Back onto my male wolf, I’ve yet to find the male pack leader. The female pack leader has shown up twice. I’m assuming all packs start with both leaders, so I find it odd that I’ve yet to run into him? I kept having to double check what sex my wolf was, cuz I was like “???”. So, I’ll update on this third attempt once I’ve finished, but taking over a pack seems to be very inconsistent & unless you get lucky, isn’t really worth it unless you wanna skip raising pups for a first year.
All 3 different packs btw- if I can remember the names of them I would put them. I know my first one was in Slough Creek (with the bottom territory pack). My second one was in Amethyst Mountain, with the bottom territory pack. My current attempt is in Amethyst Mountain, with the top right territory pack. So maybe the pack you chose & the size of the pack also plays a role in the difficulty in courting & taking over? Who knows.
Okay so! I had to completely restart save 3 due to the fact that I accidentally killed both leaders, which got rid of their pack completely. The next time I tried it, it was MUCH easier- the same sex leader actually showed himself & was promptly killed. It only took about 2-3 days before the female was able to be courted. Overall thoughts, honestly I think it’s luck dependent. You can get really lucky & have everything happen extremely fast like my first save- or you may have to start from the beginning like my third save had to. Again, all up to the player as to whether or not it’s worth it to you. 😅
