Ulcerative Colitis is a chronic inflammatory condition, affecting the large bowel, presenting patients with symptoms like abdominal pain, diarrhoea, weight loss and fever. Mesalamine is used in the treatment of mild to moderate ulcerative colitis, mostly administered orally in the form of capsules or tablets.
