    We were fortunate enough to have Eric Hjorleifson come speak to us about the new Dynafit Hoji Free touring boot at our Alpine Demo Centre in Whistler the other day. He showed us the evolution of the boot from its inception with the Vulcan boot and then the Hoji Pro. The new Hoji Free is essentially your “do everything” boot without compromise. While it is extremely efficient on the ascents, it also stiff enough to perform on the descents. With a rugged rubber sole and modified toe bail this boot is very versatile with alpine and crossover bindings. The custom mouldable liner, made by Sidas, offers a precise fit both in walk mode and charging downhill. The Escape Route team is excited to add this boot to their product mix available late October 2019.

    Fantastic and Detailed Review. I can see why it's not an inexpensive boot. Lots of Evolution and Engineering and forethought went into it. This review was one of the best I've seen for any boot.

      You must have skied them by now? I have a pair that I have taken out three days now. I was really blown away by how well they perform downhill.

      @@steelonius Yes absolutely, im thrilled that these are the boots I ended up getting. They perform really well, the fit is great and I can spend the whole day touring in them. Ill probably be skiing in these for many years to come!

    Wish it came with a slightly thinner, lighter liner which isnt as warm. Maybe a lighter liner can be swapped?

      @EscapeRouteCA  2 роки тому

      Hey David, there is no reason why you couldn't switch the liner out to something thinner if you preferred.

      @@EscapeRouteCA True! Althought the good boots these days seemed to be designed holistically with both the shell and liner acting together to provide the desired response. Ive seen the making of hoji free video and it seems a ton of effort went into designing the liner as well. I ended up getting the tecnica zero g tour pro, and to be honest the hoji free seems like a much better boot at that price point, despite the heavier weight.

    Got the Hoji Freetour 110 and in walk mode the rear buckle pops open and sticks out perpendicular to the boot … returning the boots … it’s just too dangerous during scrambling to have the buckle stick out the back of the boot

      Hi Frank, please feel free to bring your boots in our store and we can take a look to see if the buckle is working correctly! Our store locations and hours are here: www.escaperoute.ca/stores?_ga=2.78374420.1469340247.1650387041-1222261043.1636304011

    Nice Video!
    Does this Boot fit in the Look pivot GW 14?

      Hi,
      Unfortunately this boot will not fit with those bindings. The stand out issue is toe height adjustment, (which some bindings do have) then the other issue is the anti friction plate which often isn’t compatible. We would be glad to help you find another suitable boot if you wanted to come into the store!

    Thanks for the detailed deep dive guys! One question, isn't MNC going away and Gripwalk is the new norm for that market segment?

    • @pezholda5935
      @pezholda5935 5 років тому +1

      Gripwalk is sole norm, this is not the GW boot. MNC is binding norm. hopefully it's shift compatibile out of the box.

      @@pezholda5935 I think I was confusing the old WTR and MNC... I believe Gripwalk replaces WTR for sole norms and MNC is a binding norm as you point out. Sorry about that. They mention the Shift in the video, and I honestly think it was one of the things that held back sales of the OG Hoji boot, especially in North America. I'm sure it will work in the Shifts (which I have a pair on order)... I'm looking at Atomic Hawx Ultra XTD boots but will give the new Hoji Free a serious look too.

      So does this boot fit into a GW binding? (Look pivot gw14). I do have one of These and I‘m thinking about this boot as my “do it all boot”. I spend most of my time touring, but sometimes I just wanna rip on groomers with my alpine ski! I`d like to get rid of my old alpine boot and my Hoji pro tour and replace them with the hoji Pro free
