Netherlands 🔴 Amersfoort - Super Pink Moon

Watch my video of a Super Moon in April - a so called Super Pink Moon - traveling through the sky!
It took me about 50 minutes to record these footage from about 4:30 AM (CET) to 5:20 AM (CET).
The video ends with a stunning concert of all the birds waking up in our garden!

Why is this Super Moon called the Pink Moon?
The full Moon names come from a number of places, including Native American, Colonial American, and European sources.
Traditionally, each full Moon name was applied to the entire lunar month in which it occurred, not only to the full Moon.
The Pink Moon
Although we wish this name had to do with the color of the Moon, the reality is not quite as mystical or awe-inspiring.
In truth, April’s full Moon often corresponded with the early springtime blooms of a certain wildflower native to eastern North America: Phlox subulata-commonly called creeping phlox or moss phlox-which also went by the name “moss pink.”
Thanks to this seasonal association, this full Moon came to be called the “Pink” Moon!
The Super Pink Moon
And this year - during the night of April 26-27 - the full moon was also a Super Moon, due to the fact that the Full Moon was at the closest distance to earth. So this is why we (this year in april) speak of the SUPER PINK MOON!
