- This is one of a series of 5 videos I shot over the growing season in 2015. It's a small bucket carrot reveal. The Carrots in this video are: Trevor. There is a link at the end of this video that shows me making the soil based compost that I grew these carrots in.

Sometimes you get a good bunch of carrots. But then you get a good friend. Molly. Keep Molly always. Fist bump
It was nice to see Molly again.
Love seeing all your videos and of course, the lovely Molly. Thanks for sharing.
I have had issues with rats eating my carrots this year in the raised beds so I am going back to buckets for some of my different varieties Jim. Good memories of molly. Take care my friend and stay safe and healthy.
♻️Happy gardening, Terry King.
Excellent video. It was so fun to watch. ...and Molly is cute a button. She sure was a darling. Now, I'm off to watch your carrot soil video. Thanks for all the effort you put into your fun and informative videos.
Small pot gardening is the way to go.
your Videos are just fun to watch, it's a good way to start the day :)
Lovely video Jim! Goodness; those carrots were nice, and it's always good to remember little Molly and how she loved her veggie treats and time with her human! What a sweet video! I hope come spring I'll get good results from my own buckets. Good tidings to you and the missus. I know storms aren't fun, but I do have to say the one you're going through in your neck of the woods sure has a lovely, magical-sounding name, to these American ears!😁 Take care and blessings.👵🌱🌱🌱🍀
Hello Melody. We were on the edge of storm Arwen. Just up the road we have villages cut off, no electricity of water for 6 days. Supplies are getting through and the community spirit has kicked in. Jim.
Great Harvest
This is how I put drainage holes in my buckets: ua-cam.com/video/u372Y2EkxKw/v-deo.html

Great video, take care 🙂
Curious George made me smile this morning.😊 First I googled Chantenay carrots.
Description on about 5 seed companies sight was, " Short, fat, broad shouldered,
tapered carrot, grows well in shallow, heavy soil, rarely splits or cracks. 5-6"s.
I'd say you nailed it! The pictures were very similar. Here's the great part. Next I
googled Trevor carrots, page came up, scrolled down a bit......... Videos,

No one more deserving my friend. Nice reveal on the Chantenay's by the way! 5 for 5
of very good results in this series.
Mark and Rosa 👍👍👍👍👍
Hello Mark and Rosa . It was a pleasure to turn out my buckets of carrots and potatoes in 2015. Firstly because every one delivered a good return but more importantly I had Molly with me and she loved to do a 'taste test'. Jim.
That's awesome
😍😍😍😍😍🥕🥕
To Jim.
How do you get your seeds to germinate mines aren't and how long do they take to grow

My fall carrots have plenty of green but are not really big. Can I trim back the green and leave them growing over winter till spring so I can have big carrots? What about my fall onions can I do the same with them? Or should I put them in our garage?
Hello Cathy. I have never grown carrots through the colder months. The tops will be taken off by any frost or snow. The carrot will sit in the ground getting no bigger and as the weather 'warms up' in spring, will throw up a seed head. I have grown onions through winter with some success but I have also had them go to seed. Growing anything when the days are short and cold is a big ask. Jim.
@@HomeGrownVeg Thank you
How often you water them?
Just don't let the bucket dry out. Jim.
