Acting can be quite an interesting profession, all things considered.Throwing yourself into a role, embodying a character completely, it's something that takes true talent and drive. Two things that Pennywise himself, Bill Skarsgard, has in spades.
However, acting can also be an unexpectedly dangerous craft, with characters sometimes leaving lasting impacts on an actor’s psyche. Sure, acting isn’t dangerous like being a soldier or deep sea welder or lion tamer, but it's a different kind of dangerous. Especially when the character is as out there and fully realized as Pennywise. And Pennywise definitely has left its mark on Skarsgard, in ways you might not expect.

Jon155 you’re mathematically wrong. It is very rare to die in a modern combat scenario. You are 2000x less likely to die while deployed than you are driving yourself to work every day.
A higher percentage of stunt men and women die than the percentage of deployed soldiers.

LOL when I saw a pic of Skarsgard with his eyes looking in two different directions, I vaguely recalled Tim Curry doing the same thing decades ago, so I dismissed it as a special effect. But no.

I really did love skarsgard as pennywise because you could feel this character was real and a real threat to you, like most horror movie villains are supposed to make us feel
Chapter two was so intense, i loved it
It was horrible, so many plot holes, 2hour intro, WAY to many unecesary jumpscares, felt like watching 2movies in to one and like watching first IT, just wtf

Bill truly terrified me. I hate clowns anyway but Bill brought the role of Pennywise to a whole other level.,
In chapter 1, when the kids arm got chopped off. I freaked.
It was so unexpected! I loved that little twist. For a remake they really did it justice, even the music had the feel of Stephen Kings older movies.

I think it’s normal, King’s character taps directly into your psyche and fears so it’s bound to get in you head when you’re that close, I think Skarsgård is a strong willed guy tho and took it oh so well, that’s awesome!

Just finished watching it chapter2 , the movie and his performance as pennywise is phenomenal. The first horror movie that i actually liked.

Chapter 2 was sick! I saw it after school yesterday! I loved it!
I had pennywise 3 times in my dreams so far, the first time i was scared of him, because he only made a brief appearance, the second time he hunted me, and the third time i was kinda working together with him to defeat someone more evil than him, i also punched him and insulted him, i liked that dream, because i am a fan of Bill's performance as Pennywise

Penny wise is an EXTREME character. And I assume very hard to play. Once you get into that mindset its hard to get out. But bill did an amazing job. He's a phenomenal actor and I really hope we get to see more of his acting.

Oh dear. I was already impressed by his performance, and now... Now I also feel sorry for him. I don't know if I should, because his Pennywise is WOW rate. He deserves the Oscar. The thought that he may not get the Oscar actually makes me depressed. I know, it's weird, but I can't help. The way he played Pennywise feels not only like earning respect, but like forcing it... just like he forced himself into the mind of this creature.

Acting is channeling (allowing something that is not of you, to be a part of you so that you can, for a time, manifest it)... what one channels flows through them, and may be difficult to separate from if the symbiosis becomes familiar, convenient, or endearing for the channel or channeled. It wouldn't be surprising if he's still having dreams and other reflections of that process (relationship).
I think laughter is Wonderful medicine , just looking at pennywise laughing makes me laugh hysterically !!!!!!!!! And the funniest part of it is because it reminds me so much of my friend Sarah it makes me laugh twice as hard

It seems rather obvious why an actor might feel different after playing a character like Pennywise, who is evil, eats children, is supernatural etc and made him really famous overnight? That seems really NOT hard to understand to me. Especially for an actor who gets into his roles.
Ledger had that issue too. No one is the safest when asleep! That’s when your at your most vulnerable. Clowns don’t scare me at all. Clowns are just humans in make up. But Pennywise is Supernatural so it’s even more different.
I saw IT Chapter 2 last night. That must have been a really expensive movie to make!

He did an absolutely awesome job playing Pennywise. I watched IT chapter 1 for the first time a few weeks ago and I absolutely loved the movie. He was the perfect actor to play Pennywise. Pennywise is one of my favourite horror villains now. One of the best horror movies I've ever seen and one of my all time favourite movies now. Must watch if you're a fan of horror movies. Bill Skarsgard, you did an absolutely awesome job as Pennywise and I absolutely loved chapter 1 and I look forward to seeing chapter 2.

@seppuku- Yes. I saw all of them now. Even the old one. I loved them. One of my favourite movie series now. I heard he had nightmares of Pennywise after the movies we're filmed. That must've been scary. Pennywise is one scary clown. I'm not even afraid of clowns and Pennywise scares me in the new movies. I actually just rewatched chapter 1 a few weeks ago I think.

End question. I had to. When I was small I stayed up and ended up seeing Tim Curry's version. TL;DR, I had nightmares about the clown for ages. Eventually, after waking up alive so many times, I just killed him the next time I saw pennywise as I knew it wasn't real. No more nightmares after that...
