I LOOOOOOVE the lack of talking in this video. Most videos on youtube has at least 5 minutes of useless talk befor getting anywhere near the point. This video is everything and more
@@ontheworkbench8743 there was no need for the narrative really. I'm also too shy even though I used to be a dj in my past. Some dimensions would've been nice though. Great tutorial. 👏👏👏
Absolutely classic ending, I thought the painting with just blue and orange was going to turn out like a masterpiece so when we got to see what you had done well, it just made my day. The world needs more people like you my friend. 👍👍👏👏👏💯
LOL. Super Cute ending!! Clean and Quality project. Thank you for sharing. I would definitely make stuff like these in a heartbeat for my nephews and nieces, but I don't have power tools. 🙃
A friend just asked me if I could build an 18” x 24” drawing board for him, so here I am looking for some addl/alt ideas to what I had in mind. No need to look further. Very nicely done - kudos to you for a very functional and simplistic solution! PS: Hate it that folks have to leave negative comments.... sigh .... if it’s any consolation, new subscriber here! 👍🏻
Oh this easle lovely! What id give to know someone with the proper tools so that I could try n build myself one! 😂love the touch at the end.. lol like the cherry on top your Fav ice cream Sunday 😅
Well done 👍🏻 I am thinking of diy but now I think maybe I will just buy one😅🤣 I don't have any equipment to start with But thank you for the video will definitely consider diy in the future ☺️
Would be worth noting a couple of things on this vid: 1) this can all be done with hand tool ie hand saw, just the cordless drill is needed. 2 ) that pivot point on the support arm looks to be a partially threaded screw so that the portion going through the hole in the arm is smooth with clearance, so the screw doesn’t turn and chew up the wood. Thanks for the vid 👍
I‘m late, but here‘s what I‘m working with. I‘ll start building it this evening. Top board is 40x60 cm with a 2cm edge at the bottom. Frame is built with 34cm and 46cm bars (3x4) , making the whole frame 34x52. The holes for adjusting on the sides are 5cm apart each. The adjustment assembly is 3x2x46 at the top, 2x2x45 for both sides and a round piece with ø1x54 cm for the bottom. Hope this helps :)
How far apart are the openings for the stick to lock into? And how far does the first one from the front come in? Like from the front of the side board to the first opening?
I am gonna try and make this, nice video ! A bit worried about making those grooves for the adjusting; I don't have the industrial drill like you have Bro !
Also, I made one mistake,... my main board is same dimension as my base frame. So, it all looks like a complete box when they 'mate' together. Does it really matter ? I can still build the swivel joint in the back right ?
Is this helpful for studying? I can't study well cause of back pains. I am thinking on buying something like this. Do you think this help me for my studies?
If I could get the tools to work, I would become one of the greatest people in the world who create things out of wood, but unfortunately I do not have many😊
Hi Maggie, thank you! I gifted this to somebody shortly after making it so I don't have dimensions for it. However, I didn't actually go by any measurements. Just use a piece of board the size you need and all the other parts can they be made to fit the board you go with! Good luck with it! 👍
Yes, it is a screw. Use a "pan-head" screw andscrew it in all the way and then loosen it half a turn to allow the wood too move freely. Good luck with it :)
On The Workbench I have a jigsaw without guides and no vice. I really like your video and want to make this drawing board! I can get four sessions at a workshop for $200, but at that price I might as well buy one. Any advice for limited resources and tools or on making nice straight cuts with a handsaw? I could easily buy the drill bits necessary. Cutting is my main concern.
@@edvoorhees4253 I would recommend finding yourself a piece of wood, mark out loads of straight lines an inch or so apart and start cutting., practice is really the only way to get good at cutting straight lines by hand, it's not that hard though, you will master it in no time! As for limited resources, you don't need many tools to get into woodwork, a handsaw, drill, 2 or 3 chisels, a plane and maybe a coping saw for cutting curves. Try to purchase them used in local ads or ask around, plenty of people have these tools lying around in their sheds. Machinery only speeds things up, you'll learn so much more from using hand tools first.
@@ontheworkbench8743 Thank you so much. Your video has really inspired me. The idea of making something of beauty and function by hand is very appealing. Does one get a degree or apprenticeship to become a professional carpenter?

The round crossbar must be longer so that it is easier to grip when the table is down and unfolded. with the short roundbar, you can always look sideways until you can grab it. It is not a blind way to grab it. That bothers me a lot.
Breaking the edges, sanding...and on the whole good job; however, 'tis a pity that the end grain didn't received that final cut. Ah never mind, life continues I suppose
It seems to b a factory than a diy vedio ... i hv a big wood sheet .... culd u suggest any easy DIY method to hold a paper while drawng without using tape...cis it spoils ends of paper...
Hi, I wish I had a factory! This was done in my small workshop which use to be my bedroom! Yes I have a bandsaw and drill press but these are not needed to make this, it just helps speed up the process but you can use a hand-saw and any drill you have. My suggestion for you would be to make a board with strip of wood like I do in the start of this video, then paper can rest on it! Thanks for watching.
natural wood is a terrible drawing surface. you need hardboard, polycarbonate, treated mdf, sheet metal, or something stable and smooth. no draftsman or artist could use this. even if you tried to finish the surface with urethane, you would get shrinking and sinking over time that would be terrible draw straight lines on.
Video is great yes. But I wouldn't call it DIY if you're using so many pro-end stationary tools that the average Joe doesn't have. In that case a factory production line is just as much a DIY when handled by one man.
Hello. Thanks for your comment! Yes, I have a bandsaw, drill press and sanding machine, however these merely speed up the work. All pieces in this little project can be cut using a handsaw, drilled with a hand drill and shaped/sanded using sandpaper.
You'd be surprised what you can build with a hand saw, a hammer, some nails and wood glue. All of which are the most basic tools needed for this project.
It's a great video, I'm not at all used to woodworking but I feel like I can confidently put it together using just a hand drill, any kind of saw and some wood glue and screws(you can get wood cut to size any place you're able to get it anyway if you're so inclined, but it just doesn't matter you make the dimensions whatever works Other things like a band saw etc just speeds up and makes the process of building easier.

How long are the two side rotating arms,...10" ? Nice. I even are like 6". Do they have to be a certain length ?

must be a rich DIYer to have all those machines.
How mach would you charge if i order one for myself?

Yes, definitely!
I was trying to figure out how you put a screw in the back without going through the front.
What's the height of the board?
If I could get the tools to work, I would become one of the greatest people in the world who create things out of wood, but unfortunately I do not have many😊
I think i figured it out. Its just a simple smaller version of a door frame with hinges so that it can open and close.
Music in the end?
Nice
hello what width or heiht ?

What are the measurements for the drawing board
Hermoso
Bro put the good face of the plywood to the back.
What was the sheet wood you used? Please answer 🙏🏻🙏🏻
This was just some scrap ply that I had leftover for another project. It is 9mm thickness but you can use any thickness you like!
Can you tell us the hide and weight
You can get the same style at 5 below just smaller
What's the dimensions of the materials for this?
If you supply them in flat p[ack I wouls def buy one Daughter starts college in September.
You think you might be able to add a materials list?
Crafty fellow wont give you any dimensions he want you to order easel from him
You could really make it any size you want.
Wood.
Can give dimensions, mainly the thickness of the wood all around the base of the easel?
Wood thickness was 9mm
this is great, do you sell them?
I don't, sorry!
