  • Gas Mask Glasses were first introduced by the Imperial German Army in 1917. They allowed soldiers needing eyeglasses to use a gas mask while maintaining an airtight seal around the face. This video demonstrates the key features of the M1917 Maskenbrille as well as describing how to tell WW1 model from those issued in WW2.
