  • 48 Hours on a Tiny Island with Guna Tribe - Unseen Life in Panama! Living with the Guna Tribe in Panama on Aroma Island in the San Blas Islands. San Blas is one of the last pristine island archipelagos in this world with an indigenous Guna population that to this day still lives in a very simple and happy way. This amazing experience gives you a glimpse into the island life living like a Guna.

    Which experience would you prefer: 48 hours living with the Guna Tribe OR 24 hours with the Embera Tribe (which you can watch in our other video here: ua-cam.com/video/iC47K9a-q0Q/v-deo.htmlsi=nrxxynoz2hy-aIG0)

      Yeah that was pretty neat standing in the middle of the ocean. The water was so clear!

    I grew up in Mexico on a farm. I live now in the U.S. I could definitely go and stay in those beautiful islands and beautiful people sharing their lives. Thank you for this information video. I love all the videos that you and your wife do.

      Do you miss living on a farm in Mexico? What kind of farm was it? Sounds like a great way to grow up. Thanks for watching and for your kind comment. It means a lot to us that you enjoy our videos.

      @@hopscotchtheglobe My grandfather grew different crops depending on the season. I loved it, I miss it. It was a very simple life. If you have ever seen the TV series " Little House on the Prairie"? That was exactly the way I grew up.

    Cool! Sounds like an adventure with equal parts tropical paradise and culture shock. I can simply forget Zoom meetings, my new conference calls involve drumming on wooden planks and yelling across the ocean. I will be visiting Costa Rica very soon so Panama might be an additional option for me!

      That's awesome you're going to Costa Rica. Which parts? If you can add Panama to that trip, I highly recommend it. It's only an hour flight from San Jose and cost $100 for a one way, so it would be easy to go from one country to the other.

    Yes I would totally go and have my tent 🏕️ and use the bathroom and shower of the place 😂 or sleep in that place and use mosquito cover like you did.

      Either option is great. I saw a lot of people in tents too. I wonder how the tents held up in the wind thought.

      I found the trip through Viator. You can check it out here: www.viator.com/Panama-City/d950-ttd/p-22161P3?pid=P00153738&mcid=42383&medium=link&campaign=E

    Minus the cockroach I would def stay there! Do you just lower the bug net with a rope or something when you go to sleep? Were those blankets or scarves that woman was selling? How much were they going for, they looked beautiful!

    • @hopscotchtheglobe
      @hopscotchtheglobe  5 місяців тому +1

      You can wrap the bug net under the mattress so nothing gets in while you're sleeping. The cockroach is harmless, just a little gross. I think they were decorative. I'm not sure how much they cost but they take a few weeks to make. Do you think you'll go?

    I was just there and it really made me wonder if the Kuna take for granted how fortunate they really are. I watch those shows about rich Westerners paying millions of dollar to own such islands and these people basically just settled there and got them for free.
