I only bought Anubis, gonna get Overlord asap, but man Battleaxe are darn legends! I am turned into a huge fan in no time. Jake you yourself are a huge asset for them too! Amazing crew!
Great video! I've never regretted buying a Battle Axe plugin. I have missed the boat on all these free ones clearly so now I have home work! Thanks Jake!
Productivity plugins really are the secret sauce for taking a mograph career to the next level and battle axe is making some of the finest ones out there.
Overlord and Timelord are absolute must-haves for any freelancer or studio using a pipeline of traditional designers and motion graphics. The ease of importing AE or PSD layers and elements just makes any other workflow seem painful by comparison. Not just a timesaver but they become part of a creative workflow. Hugely appreciated.
Hi Jake Excited to see u take on the battleaxe. I would be interested to see a rubberhose to lottie animation workflow. I kind of struggle a bit in that department. also accurate color export with anubis. somehow i cant't get the render to look like in after effects. (i know its probably the settings in AE that i am getting wrong, but a workflow would be nice) thanks a bunch
Haven't had a lot of chances to use all these yet, but picked a bunch up a few months ago - Hylian was the big surprise for me how much I know I can use it, looking forward to a project I get to really flex Timelord as well!
I think Beatgrid is great, an option to chose between maker and key frame will be good depending on you preference.but i understand why you chose key frame.
Bring them all on! Love Adam's tools. I've used Inspector Spacetime for a lot of dev hand off, and its a great little extension when combined with Flow for custom eases. Super good stuff!
Overlord and Timelord has saved me hours upon hours... Working in pipelines I get tons of messy Ai and Ps files for animating in Ae... the mostly seamless flow is amazing... I dont know what i would do without it... Probably what I did in previous years... Bang my head onto keyboard...
I purchased Anubis after watching this video. Exactly what I needed, ME is so slow and takes forever to open when working on slower machines. Anubis is literally a timesaver.
Quick late question? On your Hylian example I saw your light rays on the solid layer? Can you give me a hint on how you created them. I”m trying something similar & I cannot get the volumetric look you are achieving.
I think that Rubberhose was surpassed by better tools, however it was the first of its kind and deserves a spot in the hall of fame of After Effects plugins/extentions.
There's some logic for keyframe placement in order to have "Soupcan" rotate at a (faux) full circle. Tried to animate the invert. Didn't work. I saw the Flip value maxes out in a symmetrical way, say, like 150 / -150...yet, couldn't find the logic of how to create like a coin rotation. Maybe there's a graph editor screenshot that shows how this is achieveable?
@@JakeInMotion I use app called ffmpeg for compress video after AE, because right after AE it is thought for email or it have bad quality. I want to know more about Anubis, how video looks after this script. Sorry for my bad English)
Anubis uses ffmpeg libraries for it's compression. Check out this link for info on color accuracy with Anubis: help.battleaxe.co/anubis/color-accuracy.html
Not when you consider its capabilities. I have all of my most used commands, scripts and expressions docked in kbar so I don't have to go digging through menus or copy/paste expressions every time I need them. It's a huge time saver.
Does Overlord still work in Adobe 2023? I've heard a lot of complaints that it's broken with the newest version, just checking before I purchase this product.
Illustrator is slowing down after effects, I know because once I open illustrator to use overlord, it slows dramatically after effects. I believe it has to do with Dynamic Link... what do you think?
Longtime user of Battleaxe bits - on going to grab some of the freebies - cause i am already on the list - its asking to update my profile - however this fwds to a 'page seems to be missing' would love a direct link to the free stuff.
Jake I can't believe that you still have not got a 4K screen....everything seems so clamped together. you got a new pc, now it's time to upgrade your screens... :))
I do have a 4k screen actually, but I know how hard it is to watch a 4k screen recording on your phone or on a monitor that isn't set to full screen. That's why I record at 1080.
You'd be surprised! Animate is a lightweight app and in Photoshop the document resolution usually isn't huge, so it's not bad at all. But you can always close the apps you're not using and reopen when you're ready to transfer back.
What's happening exactly? Certain parts of illustrator art aren't supported by AE, so they won't transfer. Check the help page for Overlord to see why what you're attempting to transfer may not be working: help.battleaxe.co/overlord/troubleshooting.html#shapes-are-not-transferring
@JakeInMotion thanks for responding. I did fill out a form with comments on the Battleaxe website. The Submit button does not click when "pressed", so it is hard to know if the submission forms gets through. I will use the contact info provided. Thanks for reaching out!

+1 for everything Battleaxe. All the paid tools cover their own cost in time saved quickly.
Overlord is my hero. And so is Jake.

I'm taking this advice!
Just started using Overlord and watching Jake last week. Now they work together, very cool.
Overlord really changed the game for me - I've used that tool so much and have recommended other friends and colleagues to use it!
I just finished watching ‘rupture’ (2016) then I see this thumbnail. He is one of them. For sure.
Thanks, Jake! I'm excited to see how you being added to the team gives us all some great battleaxe tuts!
11:24 that log animation is hilarious!
Great video. I have used Overlord pretty much everyday since purchasing it in 2019. One of the best tools out there!
That's a helpful explanation of what Hylian does. Great overview Jake!
Literally the best Ae tools your money can buy.
Love BattleAxe!
I love the community reference for inspector spacetime :)
Overload is a must have!
Excellent overview! 100% Agree, I use overlord all the time, every project and will be interested to see how the others fit my workflow
I wish I watched that video earlier. Beatgrid would save a day of work. Thanks Jake!
I actually got yelled at by a colleague for not having overlord. I was able to yell back at her for not using Anubis 😁
Overlord and Anubis are my favorite ones ❤
hylian is very useful, thanks Jake!
Overlord is the best! Love it so much
With aeux you can un-precompose a precomp. I literally just use that one feature and i love it.

That was one amazing video! Thank you;)
Hi Jake, If possible, I'd love to see a breakdown of the example you show with Soupcan. Thank you.

Already have been using Overload, and love it, but now interested in getting Anubis, Buttcapper, Hylian and Timelord

all are very useful !! Thanks man
thanks now i love soupcan very simple and useful
Bought all of Battleaxe's plugins and they are 🔥. Would love Overlord to be integrated with Affinity Designer. That workflow to AE is pure pain.
The first one is enough for me to buy as a freelance logo designer
I purchased Anubis after watching this video. Exactly what I needed, ME is so slow and takes forever to open when working on slower machines. Anubis is literally a timesaver.

Wow... I almost wish I didn't see this... How can I go back to not using these?! Thanks for another great vid Jake
sometimes Anubis export files with the previous exported project name file - it happens both in mac and windows.
i had them i didnt khew what good they were for thanks
Jake, can I set up shortcuts for the tools of Time Lord? i.e. F1 for new frame. Thanks!
Are those eyes and lines actually attached to those logs (so that they rotate with the Soupcan)?
battleaxe also sells cool t shirts. for what it’s worth. i assume.
I think that Rubberhose was surpassed by better tools, however it was the first of its kind and deserves a spot in the hall of fame of After Effects plugins/extentions.
Really? Which tools do you prefer? (I'm genuinely curious)

Between Timelord and Inspector Spacetime, I think Battle Axe maaaaay be Doctor Who fans.
Good advertising) I am interested in anubis, is video after anubis like after ffmpeg?
I don't understand what you mean. Could you elaborate?

Thanks. it is useful.
Hey there Jake and Adam, where do I find the Kbar tool ? It sounds good but I can't find it on the website, thanks
That's actually not a Battle Axe tool. You can find it on aescripts.com
Vaaaaat ?! It's the same price as Rubberhose or Overlord ! :) quite expensive for such a small tool
Not when you consider its capabilities. I have all of my most used commands, scripts and expressions docked in kbar so I don't have to go digging through menus or copy/paste expressions every time I need them. It's a huge time saver.

Yes it does! I use it daily.
@@JakeInMotion awesome thank you! I’ll definitely buy this plugin, seems especially helpful for logo animations.
I want to download buttcapper but I can't find any link, already suscribed by mail but i didnt recived nothing :(
Does Anubis render faster then ME or something like rendergarden? Gonna grab one but wondering the speed.
Illustrator is slowing down after effects, I know because once I open illustrator to use overlord, it slows dramatically after effects. I believe it has to do with Dynamic Link... what do you think?
I'm having trouble with Overlord not respecting kerning when sending text from illustrator to after effects. Anyone ever have that problem?

Love Battleaxe. I don't know if they even need to be advertised because everyone is talking about them.
Don't tell my boss that 🤫

MIDSOMMAR.
