Terrific advice! I’ve been playing guitar for over 35 years, and I still don’t do all these things. There’s always room to grow.

starting at the end is interesting. then the reward is learning the beginning. Also, sometimes when you can't get a passage right you just have to sleep on it and your brain puts it into muscle memory.

Great video, it was very explanatory and organized. Using the metronome is the most important thing, even though it is boring.

Yes!! I know it can be embarrassing at first, but the more you do it, the easier it gets and the more you improve! I still have times where I record myself and think “that was terrible.” It’s all part of the process and growing!

Sound advice, Emma. It is so annoying to work for months 'perfecting' a piece, only to notice later that you've mis-heard and mis-learned a note or phrasing. Worse still, multiple notes and phrasing after you go back to unlearn, correct and re-learn the corrections! I'm going through that now, as I play by ear. Relearning Sam's 'Whitewater' solo from the 'Drive' Bela Fleck album..

Yep keep forgetting to stop and practice difficult sections. Also a piper told me to tape my progress so you can review it when despondent. I think i will do it for new tunes. A good idea.
