I have these beads next to my bed. Whenever I can't sleep, I pray them. Rarely get to the end. Word has it that your guardian angel finishes the prayers for you as you fall asleep. Probably nonsense but I like the idea!
I’m an Orthodox Inquirer and it’s so cool to see the Jesus prayer in use around other “confessions”. I’ve seen Roman Catholics do it, some Lutherans, Orthodox (of course) and now anglicans
The Greek Sign of The Cross is a great Mnemonic. The Thumb , Forefinger and Middle are held together and signify The Trinity. The Ring and Little Finger rest together and signify The Two Natures of Christ in One Person. The Human from St Mary and The Divine from The Holy Spirit.
This prayer is an Orthodox practice dates back from the 3rd century ,and it’s words are from the Scripture. Apostle Paul tell us to pray without ceasing (Colossians 4:2, 1 Thessalonians 5:17) and it is not a “vain reputation” because it is written that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved. Turn back to the Orthodox faith my friends, the teachings of Christ and the Apostles and the tradition which has kept by the holy fathers.
Also, you can say this in rhythm with your breathing...it is a supreme practice, you will transfer your consciousness from your mind to your heart. god bless us all.
I am just coming into Anglican and I am so happy to find the rosary on the Anglican Church. I kept my Catholic beads and I am so glad I did . I don’t know the difference between Anglican and Roman Catholic yet . It seems to me that the same Christ is here
The Orthodox Church use the Jesus prayer for meditation. This “Anglican Rosary,” uses that prayer. I am a Catholic and have never found the Jesus Prayer a useful tool for contemplation as I keep focusing on my breathing, not on the contemplative words. I do, however find the Marian Rosary a great way of contemplating the scriptures.
If I may suggest, you can try not focusing of the breathing, if it does not work for you, it is completely optional. Jesus prayer is one of the most powerful weapons of the Church, I urge you to try it again.
The APOSTLE PAUL SAID IN 1 TIMOTHY 2 :5 THAT : FOR THERE IS ONE GOD AND ONE MEDIATOR BETWEEN GOD AND MEN, THE MAN CHRIST JESUS. " .. SO, MOTHER MARY WAS NEVER AN INTERCESSOR OR MEDIATOR BETWEEN GOD AND MEN, BUT ONLY OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF.
Very nice very informative but I and others better versed than me would say the breathing is purely optional and not necessary. Some would say for some it could cause hyperventilation.
I agree. Actually I would only practice the deep mediation with the help of a Spiritual Mother or Father. Just my thought. Theres a reason my Catholic friends call it the Sword of Prayer. Praying is a battle and you're not only fighting against yourself. It's best to be prepared.

See Luke 1:28:42 The traditional rosary is like the Bible on beads. As you pray the Hail Mary ( which comes from the New Testament Luke 1 verse 28 and 42., you think about the significant events in Jesus life including his passion, death and resurrection. The repetition puts you into a focused state to remove distraction while meditating on Jesus’ life. Between each of the ten beads the Our Father is recited. This is the prayer that Jesus taught his followers.
Jesus teaches us how to pray. Trust in the Word of God not the word and traditions of man. Matthew 6:5-15 “And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. The Catholic Church was created from the Western Patriarchate of the Orthodox Church during the 9th century (unfortunately a replacement Orthodox Pope of Rome and Patriarch of the West was never elected); however, England kept its Orthodox clergy until the Norman Conquest in 1066 when the French replaced them with Catholic clergy. The Jesus Prayer is Orthodox, so that may be why the Church of England uses it.
As far as I understand it, use of the Jesus Prayer is recent in Anglicanism, innovated in the 1980s by Lynn C. Bauman, new-age ecumenist gnostic and registered sex offender. He obviously borrowed it from Eastern Christianity, where its use is much more traditional and central. Many Orthodox priests do not recommend praying it silently, or focusing on the breathing as in yogic practice, not because they believe that this kind of meditative contemplation (hesychasm) is demonic or the expression of theological error, as seems to be the Catholic position, but because it can easily lead to spiritual delusion and is best left to monastics, or at least built up to very slowly and carefully.

I’ve been doing the regular rosary of the Catholic Church but I am watching because I am interested in learning anything I can
Think is excellent! I'm Catholic and had no idea that there is an Anglican Rosary. Totally different focus. i may add this to my prayer routine.
Do you think that Anglican and Catholic will ever be one again?
Thought the Rosary was Catholic as the Aanglican church doesn't have the same devotion to the Blessed Virgin,am I wrong on this point??

It's the orthodox Christian practice, the Orthodox don't have exclusive claim to Christian tradition and the fathers.
