I will love your reaction to the metal version as well, but for me, this is my favorite. I think that may simply be because this one makes me empathize more with the character who sings the song in the first place. Plus...I just like hearing Dan's natural voice. There again, THAT might be because it's so delightful to then listen to his metal voice...knowing that it's one and the same person making those very different sounds.

I really like this version of "pure" Dan although if I had to choose one, it would be the metal version. Looking forward to you doing that one. I love the accent he had a few years ago when he talks. Sadly, he is losing more and more of it.

Isn’t that the truth. Dan, God bless him, is working SO hard to perfect his English and his enunciation but sadly, it’s making him lose his beautiful accent that we all love so much. Sigh.😔
