Not sure how you could be surprised. The prosecution did not meet their burden. In addition to that, does anybody really think we should send a doctor to prison for LIFE just because he gave comfort care? Many, if not all these patients were extremely ill. I believe the jury made the right decision.

Surprised? We prosecutors telling medical people how to do their jobs. Thank God.

Palliative care needs to be acknowledged in this country.

Maybe I wasn’t clear. Palliative care is not Hospice. Neither is “End of Life Care”. But, these two terms are not discussed by most people who have not experienced those dying over a long period or on the precipice of death. No these people were not in hospice…..nor does hospice overtly give palliative or end of life care…….but, they often do covertly after all else has failed ie…..at the end.

@@joecamel4006 they were intubated to keep them breathing...they were already dead without the artificial respiration. No one was going to make them live and go home breathing on their own. You evidently didn't watch the trial.

@@joecamel4006 again, you didn't see the trial. He didn't kill anyone. Their families were present at the time of their deaths. (Some of whom required resuscitation efforts multiple times before intubation btw) Why make comments about which you know nothing? If you feel the need to make a comment and you don't want to sound like a fool, invest in the time to have knowledge of the topic.

I’d suggest if you attend OSU Law School you not take this professor’s classes. What a hack. Not guilty was the only fair verdict. The prosecutors were corrupt. They allowed perjured testimony by patients family members who’s depositions didn’t remotely match their trial testimony. I pray Dr. Husel can practice medicine again and he wins the defamation lawsuit that can now proceed now that he’s acquitted of these trumped up charges. Government needs to stay out of doctor/patient care. Bravo to this jury.

Thank God. Prosecutors do not need to tell medical people how to do their jobs. Dangerous president. Stay out of healthcare. You don’t have a clue.

The OSU lawyer is as clueless as all non medical personnel. His comments show his ignorance.

if you got the Legal Eagles you can do what you want? That's not Comfort Care, Dr. Jack Kevorkian gave comfort care , because his patients consented, Did these Dr. have the murdered victims consent? This is exactly what Rita Mays did,I no, Casey Anthony was innocent to.

Guilty of reckless homicide maybe but murder means there’s an intent to end the life and the prosecution did not present that evidence

He still has 10 civil cases back to back at starting in June. Good luck proving you weren't neglectful. Mount Carmel Trinity Health has already proved he was neglectful by settling 14 of the cases already.

Hopefully the win in the trial will help in the civil suits. What is sad is that the patients were already dead so to speak. They would not have been able to live with a machine breathing for them. The, some anyway, families were there and decided to remove the breathing machine so why do they feel the need to sue now, just for a payday? It WILL NOT bring their loved one back. I speak from experience having to make the decision to remove my mother from life support and watch her die. It is a very emotional time and to “blame” the doctor would have upset my mother. She always said that she did not want to ever live on a machine so we honored her wishes and had we sued she would’ve rolled over in her grave. To do this just to get a payday I think it’s a gross injustice to palliative care as a whole and looks bad for every single one of the families that are suing him. Hopefully he will prevail in those cases as well!!
