Perhaps it's because you had both going at the same time and couldn't distinguish, but despite the fact that the Glade warmer takes 30+ minutes to completely melt, the scent starts permeating the room within 5 minutes as soon as there's just the smallest amount of melted wax. So, I don't really care that it takes just over 30 minutes to melt the entire wax cube, it's doing its job long before that. I have a blue one, I don't know if perhaps it's a later model that works better, but that's been my experience.
I would choose the Glade over the traditional one for several reasons including it's safer, doesn't get hot to the touch and it's more convenient. To be honest, I don't really see the point of using a candle based wax warmer. Why not just use a scented candle? It seems counterintuitive to me to light a candle to melt another piece of wax.

Enjoyed your video. I feel like you are comparing apples and oranges tho. I feel that true wax melter know that a tea light warmer is much hotter than a 20 watt glade. One of the main differences is I can leave my glade going all night and wouldn't do that with a tea light warmer because it is a greater fire hazard. The glade warmer throws beautifully for a longer period of time, a tea light warmer us much hotter and goes thru the scent quicker. In addition you have to buy tea lights as opposed to plugging in. Personally I use them both because I have areas of my house, like the bathroom with an outlet that is not convenient. They both have their pros and cons.😊

+1228Rhonda Thanks for you comments :) since reviewing this product I too have grown to love it for its many differences from tea lights. I love that I can leave it plugged in and have an all day scent opposed to a few hours, I use my tea lights where I lack outlets and for decorative affect.

I have a wax melt warmer that requires a 25 watt light bulb and it adds up if you use it like I do . I prefer the Glade wax melt warmer it's easy to keep clean and very easy to use . I have a cat and 2 dogs and my granddaughter comes to visit and this just makes me feel safer using this .

You may not have noticed this, but the Glade is dual purpose. It was a wax melt top, but if you remove it, Its also a candle warmer! :)

Suppose that would be considered dual purpose. Very good point. Thanks for the comment and for viewing our videos.

I definitely prefer the tea light wax warmer. You can put them literally anywhere and tea lights are not very expensive. I can buy a box of 300 from Costco for about £10 and they do melt instantly....love them!!

+TheCaulfield1 i agree with you on the versatility of the tradional warmers though, not having to worry if i have candles or not anymore is nice too. I have a few of each now and i guess a combination works best for me :)

I just recently bought a glade warmer and only the first few times take a while to heat up, after that mine heats right up. I never had the traditional one so I can't really compare but I subscribed to your channel!

I have a glade warmer & have it set on a timer to come on 45 mins before I come home. My place smells great I even got some glass candle holders that fit the base. So I just take the old one off at bedtime I have it turn off about 30mins before I go to bed. Some days I can get two days melt if I am in late ect. It's safer than I candle flame some cheap tealights burn very wild and black shot marks the wall & ceilings Warmer are clean.

Thanks for this video comparison, I'm looking for ways to re-purpose wax that is left over for scented candles.

+Angel B Thanks Angel! You could make layered candles with the left over wax they would be pretty neat with all the different layers you could add from the left over wax.

Nice video... but anything that contains fire is definitely not safe for me, especially if you have pets & kids. I highly recommend electric warmers folks, you plug it up.... & walk away... while the device does its thing. It’s nothing like walking into your home & having it smell so fresh & clean 👍

After the wax melts(30m), do I turn off the Glade Wax Melt Electric or keep it on?

Maybe had you let the warmer get warm first, you added a hot flame so no comparison. Not a good review I've done the whole scentsy thing waste of money. Done candles not one for having to worry about did I blow it out before I left easier to cause fires, I love the glade warmer. 💝

Great vid! I just bought the Glade Wax Warmer, set it up and popped a Pumpkin wax cube on top. I timed it and it took 32 minutes for it to fully melt, though I did smell that amazing aroma all through my home the entire time. I am like you in that I wish it did not have to be plugged in (that is why I used to SWEAR BY the old Glade Oil Candles, the ones that came with a holder and you would light them and they would burn for hours and then burn away the oil and fill your home with the most wonderful fragrances.....you could buy refills anywhere and did not need to plug it in so you could sit it anywhere). I love the idea of the traditional melter though but with little hands all around here, I would be a bit nervous of that open flame in the front like that. But I love how fast it melts, so I may just stop at my local dollar store and pick one up (prolly can get some not too expensive candles there for it, too). Thanks for the review!!

+Lissy Villabona I'm going to go out and try the Pumpkin wax you tried nothing better than that smell :) Thanks for Subscribing and sharing comments I've warmed up to my Glade warmer more and more as you said it fills the entire house with fragrance, and the safety of my little ones too.

+Creative Home Life (Creative Home LIfe) YW! The only problem I've found with the wax melt warmer is that I have become obsessed with all of the different scents of wax melts! Ha Ha I just bought a 10 pk of the Better Homes and Gardens wax melts, a variety of fragrances 6 to a pk, for $20 at Walmart. You can spend half a day in there looking at and smelling all of the wonderful smells. Just discovered too that Dollar Tree has some Glade Wax Melts for $1!!

+Lissy Villabona OMG i just went to Target this past weekend and spent way too much time and $ on melts, I grabbed the pumpkin per your recommendation and my house smells amazing!!!

+Creative Home Life (Creative Home LIfe) It's burning in my home right this second, just love it! I feel your pain about spending too much money on melts, but it's so easy to do....the BHG ones cost $2 a pack, so you pick up one and say "Oh it's just $2"...so you pick up another....and the next thing you know you're at the register with $30 worth of wax!

Helpful video, thank you for sharing. I personally only have Scentsy Electric wax warmers. I often have our wax warmers on all night long, and I feel safe with those, as opposed to candles / tealights.x

Sooz3112 Speaking of Scentsy, I am so disappointed in Scentsy products, which to me seem overpriced and overrated, with faint, almost undetectable short-lived fragrances.
