You are right. If PRC gives up its claim to finish the Chinese Civil War from 1949, Taiwan or ROC will be an independent country, just like IF Lincoln did not insist on taking back South we would has two United States of American today.
What you clearly do not know is the FACT the 9 -dash-lines was drawn by ROC after WW II with US Navy's help. Go and check it out and then come back here to discuss what this FACT means.
The DPP shut down a major news pro KMT news paper a number of years ago so "news outlets" like Taiwan plus and Taiwan talks basically follow Washington's instructions on propaganda. US at some point will "sacrifice" Taiwan just as it did Ukraine. With Ukraine the US froze/stole $300 Billion of Russian assets in western banks. US can use a conflict in Taiwan to steal $2 trillion of Chinese assests in the west. The more Taiwanese die in a conflict the better the excuse to steal $2Trillion. But that won't happen until TSMC's fabs in Ariz is built because the US economy will suffer a 2Trillion hit if Taiwanese chips are not exported to the US. The leaders of Taiwan as well as the leaders of TSMC likely already know this. It's not clear they can do anything about it. The Taiwanese people deserve not to be Ukrainians.
@@nhenglagasca3482 There was no 10 dash-line. There was 11 dash-line declared by Republic of China after it took over Japanese Surrender in South Chinese Sea WITH US Navy help. So now there is 9 dash-line left, claimed by Both PRC on mainland China AND ROC on Taiwan China.

@c0smicbyte it's probably easier for the 8 countries to acknowledge the One China Policy than for the "190" to change their position. You could keep day dreaming though.
Taiwan is not China. Japan surrendered Taiwan and other territories to the US led Allied Forces in 1945. ROC accepted the surrender on behalf of the US. Taiwan is under US custody until its status is finalised. PRC/mainland China was never in the picture and has no claim over it. So, the best people to decide Taiwan's future are the Taiwanese.
No matter how many time you claim Taiwan is an Independent country, Taiwan has no diplomatic recognition with any country on earth as a country. That remaining 12 small countries only recognize Republics of China as the Sole Representative of China (hence they has no diplomatic relationship with People's Republic of China).
The young guy at least gets one thing right The Cairo Declaration gave Taiwan back to Republic of China. Then in 1949 PRC defeated ROC on mainland and claimed Taiwan and all the South China Sea islands that ROC controlled at the time. From this point the 2758 switched the Representative of China in UN form ROC to PRC. So PRC has the rights to finish the Chinese Civil War and unify Taiwan and other islands currently controlled by ROC.
I don't understand the use of the word "Restoration" in 2758. Does anybody understand why this word being used? My point is that PRC representatives never had a UN seat so can can they be returned to it. I understand why the seat was moved from ROC to PRC because the PRC controlled mainland after ROC lost it in the civil war. But the words like "restoration" and "unlawful" sound wrong or incorrect.
What a stupid discussion. Before the 1971 UN Resolution of 2758 both PRC and ROC considered Taiwan as Part Of China, no dispute there. And Resolution 2758 has nothing to do with PRC's One China Policy since 1949. Any country has to agree with PRC's One China Policy before PRC would establish diplomatic relationship with it. This is why US had to cut the diplomatic tie with ROC and abolish the military alliance agreement with ROC before it could establish Formal Diplomatic Relationship with PRC.
No matter how you cut it, Taiwan is still a province of China and that is why Taiwan had to give up the seat to Beijing. HK and Macao too have their own currency and passport but are still part of China. Twisting words just to deny a fact does not make it a fact.
This old guy confused the right for People on Taiwan to fight for its independence, which they certainly have just like American South in the American Civil War, with the PRC's right to finish the Chinese Civil War to unify Taiwan just like the American North had during its Civil War.
