Oh wow - Muldrotha was my best pull from my FND prerelease packs! Thank you for your hard work and amazing ideas for builds. I am learning a lot. Oh, and your $15 Zinnia Slivers won again last night, beating out Tom Bombadil and Hatsune Miku/Child of Alara! Merry belated Christmas, and Happy New Year!
I actually just pulled this commander a few days ago when I bought a foundations set and I'm going to a LGS that's reported to have insane amounts of bulk friday, so perfect time for the video.
I would make some sort of smart a** comment about the colors schemes being off since the christmas colors are green and red, but green is there and blue could be interpreted as snow and black squeeze in as commercialism. So have a merry sultai christmas, everyone! 🎅
Merry Krasis! This is a wonderful holiday gift for me, since Muldrotha is my favourite commander, it was actually a gift from the LGS I first went to for magic when they convinced me to try Commander for the first time, they knew I had cards but didn’t know Commander, so they asked me questions to find what I’d like, then the owner just tossed me a Muldrotha and gave me a while to build it before shuffling up and playing with me. I’ve got lots of good memories with it, so this is a wonderful thing to see on the holiday, thanks Suris!
Fun fact. My friend Josh has 7 or 8 decks dedicated to this commander. Another fun fact. My play group calls him Lord Moldybutt. Hope you and your gf have an amazing Christmas
@@surismtg Codie would be a nice foil/opposite of muldrotha with its focus on sorceries and instant rather than permanents, tho I am a much bigger fan of the gravetide
Might I suggest Ominous Roost and Murder of Crows? Murder of Crows is a 4/4 flyer that gives you the option to loot any time ANY creature dies. Ominous Roost is a VERY unassuming card (makes a 1/1 flyer that can't block on ETB and every time you cast a spell from your graveyard).... until your opponents suddenly realize just how MANY of them you've actually been making.^^ Both literally pennies.
Muldrotha was one of my most beloved, longest running Commanders. I took her apart recently because I kind of saw where the culture was headed, in that people want games to end and Muldrotha decks are notorious for having difficulty closing out games. Even though I prefer a grindier game, I do try to read the room and so I took her apart. I might bring her back someday but Mycotyrant is holding me over for now.
Gravebreaker Lamia might be worth considering if you have some leftover change. Slightly mana intensive at 5cmc BUT you get a 4/4 lifelinker that reduces the cost of spells cast from your graveyard by 1 AND has an ETB entomb. $.45 For a couple non-budget upgrade consider Fortune Teller's Talent...a class enchantment from Bloomburrow. It lets you look at the top of your library, play cards from the top of your library, and the last level reduces the cost of spells your cast from anywhere other than hand by 2. $2.15
Wow what a throwback! Muldrotha was my first ever commander deck I made back when it came out! Also, *ahem* day two of asking for a Carth the Lion, Golgari superfriends deck
I've been trying to make a Muldrotha +1/+1 counters theme using Reyhan as a secret commander to move +1/+1 counters on death, so it's nice to see you experimenting with The Gravetide as well. Personally, I would use Ilysian Caryatid over Rootcoil Creeper as it only costs 2 more cents for a total of $0.12 rather than $0.10 and it has the same base ability for any 1 mana but it's create 2 mana ability is online more often requiring that you control a creature with power 4 or more and can be used to cast all cards rather than only ones from your graveyard. Unfortunately Ilysian Caryatid is just both more often online and versatile for the same 2 mana any color effect.
After seeing this it reminds me how much Necromancy style commanders are in my local scene. What Commander do you think would be a good start to an Anti-Necromacer deck?
Merry xmas! Just started the vid, but can already say the music is SLIGHTLY to loud. Maybe have it over like 2 mins reduce the volume to 2/3s? Otherwise looking forward to it!
@surismtg for no other reason than my own curiosity as a super casual video editor, I'd love if you could get back to me with a run down on why. Just finished the video. Can confirm, it was a good video! Looking forward to proxying it and then slowly bringing it up to the cost tier of my other decks.
Muldrotha is busted and I've seen it get out of hand quickly I feel bad for targeting the Muldrotha player last time I played against one, but a Gitrog Monster a Muldrotha and a Mesmeric orb would have been a bit much to let live

Muldrotha is the best sultai commander imo. Without graveyard hate, it's very exhausting to keep it just in check.
Yuuuup, gets out of control
Muldrotha is definitely the most fun at least. She feels the most sultai-esque among sultai commanders. Tasigur is objectively more powerful though.

Merry Christmas! Was not expecting a Christmas video, let alone Muldrotha, the Gravetide. Made her years ago, like to see her with updates. Let's go!
Merry Christmas. Thanks for all the budget decks❤

Merry Christmas everyone! So excited for this deck. Take care of yourselves and I hope you got some magic cards for Christmas.

Merry Christmas Suris! I don’t know if you take requests/challenges, but I’d love to see your take on a $15 Codie, Vociferous Codex deck
Merry Christmas!!
Im actually not a big fan of codie... So he's a hard maybe

Ove been dying for a Muldrotha deck from you since Thanksgiving
This is the best Christmas gift I didn't ask for

Since Muldrotha has been reprinted Magic:Foundations can we get a standard version of a Muldrotha deck even if it's not a budget build?
I am not sure if muldrotha does much in standard, does it?
Merry xmas! Just started the vid, but can already say the music is SLIGHTLY to loud. Maybe have it over like 2 mins reduce the volume to 2/3s? Otherwise looking forward to it!
Interesting, I have the music turned to -30db, but listening back to it without headphones it sounds odd. Interesting...

who made your model? Also hope your holiday season going well
jarvis, play a land and cast a permanent spell of each permanent type from my graveyard.
My muldrotha deck is leaning toward the strategy of milling everyone. Should i change the strategy to something else?
Moldrotha is female btw
