  • Mermaids Inlet and Gosangs Tunnel is a walk in Currarong that offers stunning views of rock escarpments and blue ocean views just a short drive out from Nowra, NSW
The walk starts with a bridge crossing over Abrahams Bosom Creek along Marions Way and joins onto Coomie's Walk.
Along the way you will have an option to continue the walk via Wreck Walk.
Wreck Walk is an interesting track that will get you to the remains of an historic shipwreck and a couple of beautiful secluded beaches, eventually getting you back onto Coomie's Walk and to Gosangs Tunnel.
Gosangs tunnel is a natural tunnel around 20-30m in length that requires you to crawl through but, once through you are rewarded with spectacular ocean views.
Please keep in mind that there are no railings to prevent you from falling off the cliff face and entering is entirely at your own risk.
The path to Mermaids Inlet is at the crossroad to Gosangs Tunnel that takes you along a narrow rock path leading you to stunning views of the blue water in the inlet below.
The overall walk is around 6km out and back but there is an option to continue the average loop trail along Coomie's Walk.
*IMPORTANT. I am probably a bit on the over cautious side and would not take young children through the cave or Mermaid Inlet due to the risk of falling.
**THIS PLACE CAN GET VERY BUSY DURING PEAK SEASON AND WILL BE BEST VISITED EARLY MORNINGS OR OUT OF SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

Thanks for sharing this. I had this on my list but seeing you having to get down on hands and knees to get through parts of the tunnel means I need to put it off till my shoulder is back to its best. Saved me a trip.

It’s not that difficult to get through. Maybe wear long pants to protect your knees then you can easily crawl through
