I took my family there, including 2 teenagers, this past July and we were blown away by how the fun and festive atmosphere there when they closed off the streets for people. The part we liked was how safe everything was, with children and family, even grandparents roaming around. We've bee to tourist hotspots in many countries but hardly see true local residents (other than employees serving tourists) but Hanoi has so many local people enjoying that safe and festive environment.

I was here in 2018 as I wrote my final exams at the South African Embassy! Only had a few hours to explore before flying out to Ho Chi Minh! Loved it! You have inspired me to finish editing all my vlogs lol

The night market is only open on weekdays, but during weekdays there are lots of shops open too.
