I'm Brazilian too, and I share reservations about the BRICS initiative. Chamath has accurately highlighted their inefficacy and projected trajectory. Many might not recognize that Lula's actions stem from an inherent anti-American stance, driven by ideology and resentment. The J Cal meltdown is indeed a showing off why there is a growing anti-Dollar sentiment. Sacks hit the nail on the head. The world is currently wary of superficial, short-term perspectives masked by claims of love and justice, all underpinned by American exceptionalism. A "peacemaker" wielding the most power should exhibit emotional stability.
As a brit, who has lived in USA , south america and Europe I tend to disagree, the others are too right wing for me on some points and I find Jason is quite consistent, pragmatic and less prone for clickbait talk. KInda keeps it middle ground and offers the other perspective. But when Chamath said "if Zimbabwe comes to the US and proposes they help the US" Jason responds about Chamath making fun of him. Jason just is either unaware or can care less about the negative perception the world has towards the US in general or "people like him". Crazy! Nice debate guys. @@rujotheone Maybe. Although you don't see a lot of proof points. Bilateral/Trilateral engagements are very few between this Trio. Friedberg just incredible wisdom - as usual. The FACT that another currency is even being CONSIDERED sends a clear message and shouldn’t be dismissed as irrelevant. This needs to be discussed and flushed out.
As someone comes from the 3rd world now living in the US, I’m truly impressed by Sacks’ callout on what other countries think of the ukranian war, which you barely hear in the US by ppl around, who either don’t care what others say or continue to justify it.
What's the difference between Putin invading Ukraine and George Bush invading Iraq (or Afghanistan)? Both used clearly made up excuses, and had no legitimate business there. The US could talk about "exporting democracy", but that was neither the official reason (WMDs), nor the real one (oil). Not to mention that the result was predictably catastrophic. You can't force a country to be democratic, it's a long and complicated process that has to happen organically. Assuming good intentions, the mistake everyone likely made is using the successes of WWII and the collapse of the USSR as a blueprint for all wars. The huge difference between those and other conflicts is that the liberated countries were already democracies, just temporarily ruled by dictators. Those countries naturally revert back to democracy once the dictator is defeated, even without outside help (see Romania or Hungary). But countries that have never been democracies fall into anarchy instead, until a new dictator rises. So, to get back to my original point, if the same rules apply to every country, the US should have been sanctioned many many times. Not just for wars, but other interference in other countries' private businesses (including democracies), or just plain old human rights violations.
African: You know what? At least the Chinese give roads, railways and infrastructure here. The West just gives lectures. Westerner: Buh, what about freedom? What about human rights? You really should... African: Here comes the lecture.

Sacks running laps around Jcal as always.
The next show should be a live Chamath intervention episode.
Let your winner's ride.
😂
Chamath is pushing this show downhill . 10 min of his bs as a start is not a great start to the episode
@@omarradi6527 I digress. Chamath's intros are entertaining as fuck.
The comment is even more funny after looking at how dumb jcal sounded this whole episode ( and looked) this dude is making this pod unwatchable
Sacks is definitely the man
The fact that this podcast is free means we are the winners!
The best analysis, and discussion I have listened to about BRICS so far. A wealth of knowledge amongst these 4.
Chamath you bring a real Asian perspective to conversation here. Your commentary on indo-china relationship and it being a big roadblock in anything good Brics could achieve was spot on. Something that most folks in Western world are unaware of.
PS: When Russia is involved, Sacks had to come prepared with a ppt😂
It works to some extent because of Russia as they act as the moderating country between China and India.
@@rujotheone Maybe. Although you don't see a lot of proof points. Bilateral/Trilateral engagements are very few between this Trio. The current govt in India feels more comfortable showing closeness to the West, instead of Russia or China. It fares well with their current vote base. So all the engagements with Russia and China are very tactical(Oil for example). The economy in India is also driving more and more free markets, whereas China is only starting to tighten things up. Russia, India, and China relationship is just not natural, right now at least.
As an Indian, I can tell you that we are too smart to fall for any neo colonial traps but we want to be friendly terms with all nations. We have come a long way on our own, however, US still has a lot to contribute to India's progress through transfer of technology in the weapons industry etc. India will keep exporting its high quality technical talent to the world, especially the west, building one of the most powerful diaspora with strong moral values to keep a check on the deep state going all crazy. We have a lot to learn and teach. Its a shared destiny.
Most cogent and succinct summary of Indias position from a Gujju ever!
Excellent summary!!!
Would you like US to help you build some nukes with strings attached?
Excellent episode and loved the insights from Sacks, Freidberg and Chamath on the BRICS…. However, it is increasingly challenging to tolerate JCal to get to those insights each week.
🤦🏻♀️Jcal: authoritarian countries bad, we shouldn’t do anything with them
Also Jcal: we should be replicating China’s strategy
Hahahaha, so true
Aligning with other countries that share America’s values and interest just like China tries to align with others that do same. Surely that’s not hard to figure out. We shouldn’t just criticise for criticising sake!
@lzlk22 replicating someones strategy doesn't have anything to do with cooperating with them. If you were to try and replicate the Football plays of OJ simpson. Would that then make you into a murderer or a less moral person? No. Because OJ's football plays has literally nothing to do with him being a murdrerer.
@@Unbiased321 What bugs me about Jason (on this topic. I’m not a Jcal hater at all) is how he just takes the nuance out of the conversation when it comes to anything related to authoritarian countries or US/foreign relations topics. I myself didn’t articulate that very well here 🙂
Is JCal playing Logical Fallacy Bingo or something? I think he legitimately hit them all in a single episode.
strangely i think exactly the same but about the others lol
36:33 Jason lives in his own world
Brilliant chat on BRICS! Chamaths take on it was really insightful! Sachs knows his stuff as usual! 👑
No matter how "high class" Chamath wanted to be, he still have that new money party all day mentality lol but yeah I'm a MIDS what do I know
I can still see him in his Gucci gear 😂 ... No, I like Chamath 😅
He has fallen into success. People that were actually poor, and are given nothing don't do what he does.
Love him, but FFS he is the furthest from humble.

and i think hes fine with that. thats authenticity

it's actually good to see people really talking/fighting over ideas here...
Even better, the have so much at stake for putting out their opinions. Respect!
What a useless comment
I just feel like give my besties in order today: 1. Chamath 2. Sacks 3. Friedberg, 4. Calcanis....I think Jason is perfect to the extent that he creates an "villain" for me to dislike on the pod. This episode did not end on a high note! No "Love You Boys" from Calcanis on this episode. He was hot!!! Hope you guys work it out!
I want Friedberg to speak more
Sacks speaking the Truth. 👏
I’m sick of the fruitful and thoughtful conversation being interrupted by JCals social justice warrior flag waving
Jason - I'm Biased. 😂😂 we hadn't noticed.. lol
loved sacks and chamath!!
Me as a Zimbabwean watching this just catching strays lol
solid episode, I always love the debates between J CAL and Sacks they crack me up :)
@JCAL: Vivek may not have brought up spending but he spoke shutting down bureaucracy to save/allocate money more effectively.
Actually, Jcal, the conversation sentiment in Asia mostly believe that the US was involved in some way or another in the Ukraine war or at least definitely helped either inflicting it or prolonging it
David made such a clear point about the war.
Sacks came w/facts
sacks came with sack. get it.
Everyone: You pumped and dumped
Chamath: Everyone hates that I'm trying new things
I don't understand people who get mad at this type of market behavior. Sir, the market is literally you taking capital from another. It's the essence of trade. Don't be mad at him taking profit. Be mad you didn't sell high and buy low.
@@TheChewbaca69 yeah you can’t suggest these people to take personal responsibility, chamath is great scapegoat for their terrible decision making.. although some of his behavior was sort of unethical it’s a fair trade. willing buyers at fair market price
How you would let any of these guys invest in your company is beyond me 😂
@@johnanon658 right.. but who made decision at the end to invest into these unprofitable companies? Imagine the hubris of a person that listens to CNBC or any other media that chamath appeared on and thinks that is enough to make a reasonable investment decision at time where markets are probably most efficient they ever were. You should go broke and lose all your money if you are this stupid and although chamath did something unethical you have no one to blame but yourself.
If you don't know who the main holders are and how the seed process was arranged, then don't invest. Accountability is key. So is due-diligence. Not saying i approve of his actions. @@johnanon658
David Sacks for Secretary of State
I want this type of person leading our countries foreign affairs.
Starting the pod with Chamath and Kevin Hart's multi-day cocaine binge was super entertaining!
I really hope Chamath is getting some good sh*t. I honestly don't want to see Chamath or Kevin Hart od from coke that's cut with fentynal.
🤣🤣🤣🤣@@ThnkDfrnt
As a South African I can tell you that this country is a basket case at the moment. We can’t even provide regular electricity on a daily basis. Don’t see how we’ll be able to play a part in a successful and expanded BRICS.
I'm in the arena recording a podcast. Some episodes will entice retail to buy my SPACs, some won't. But always learning. You're anonymous and afraid of your own shadow. Stay on the sidelines.
@@Btn1136 I actually sympathize with chamath pov, but it seems unpopular to suggest individuals should take more personal responsibility hence this comment.
Sacks understands how the world works.
We should ask David Sacks why he believes conservative voters in the United States are willing to willfully ignore Ivanka Trump's 18 separate private enterprise trademark patents ($) awarded to her by COMMUNIST CHINA during her time in the White House Oval Office.
Umm... no.That's laughable...
China has already signed a deal with Saudi Arabia to build a nuclear power plant in exchange for oil. I think we'll see more of these kind of deals amongst the BRICS+
Sacks nails it. JCal just doesn't get that the Indian engineers and politicians are smarter than the American engineers and politicians.
chamath being proud of his gambling addiction is interesting
@@UnsaltedCashew38 Interesting that you consider it "a problem". Signs of a gambling to me would someone that spends money they can't afford. Signs of an alcohol problem is when it's impacting your physical and mental health. Does he strike you as someone with financial, physical and mental health issues?
God forbid the man likes to have fun or have a personality.
I have to agree with Chamath about the man in the arena comments. We are privileged to get a front row seat to their successes and failures and we should take motivation from people like these 4.
Chamath riveting a new one to Jay Cal and highlighting the fact that he consistently displays racist behavior towards the “global south” or anything non U.S. was hilarious 🤣
Also point out his ignorance about nuclear power generation, which he clearly knows almost nothing about.
Then again JCal was brought and raised in a country whose people were brought and raised to think their country was, is and will be the best in the world and will continually exert global dominance. They’re in for a rough ride
@@mikeyyy3033lol, US global dominance isnt going away anytime soon. I seriously doubt anyone on this podcast will live to see any serious degradation of US power.
@@mikeyyy3033 I don’t see how that explains being oblivious to the world, specially given his means… I was born a French and didn’t stop me from discovering the world and seeing things differently from the way I was taught in school…
Thank You All for the All-In Podcast show!
"I dropped my jet to troll the mids"
Brutal comment coming from a pod that rails against "the elites"
Sacks was on point. I wish that segment kept going.
1:03:14 👀JCAL "vinegar, like this Episode"
Sacks and Chamath where on point with the BRICKS discussion. #1 Podcast in the world! 👍🏾
sem like should move to china ?
I enjoy these podcasts very much. It's a fascinating glimpse into a strange world of finance, power and politics that cycles endlessly, always changing, never staying the same. Thank you!
Why is Friedberg so chill, GOAT
Sacks talks facts and Jason emotes instead of letting Sacks talk. JCal let David speak.
Recommend you bring Doomberg on the podcast to discuss energy/finance.
Sacks at minute 59 perfectly explains the BRICS topic / why it is being formed. Well measured and mature
These conversations on geopolitics can have far greater substance if they talk about their personal international experiences, especially as it pertains to startups & business. Not everyone gets to travel, and the tidbits we get from news often comes with some biased perspectives.
I love this pod because you guys talk about real human issues with with out any fear of judgement. This is real. 👍👍
i cant be the only one who hate how JCal is full of him self when it come to poltics
Sacks you're amazing!
You're phenomenal patience towards Jcal is something that I would need in my life !
58:50 . So much class! BIGG UP
Cool seeing JCal and Sacks agree on some stuff in this ep.
🤣😅
Love how they can disagree “violently” and still be friends. Jason’s mentality (superiority syndrome) is why America is losing its moral authority around the world. Surprised that he can be so open minded and still achieve that level of dilution.
I want David Sacks to run for president! 😊
Friedberg just incredible wisdom - as usual. The FACT that another currency is even being CONSIDERED sends a clear message and shouldn’t be dismissed as irrelevant. This needs to be discussed and flushed out.
I love it whe there is tension in this podcast. I like the pod anyway but these arguments are gold.
David Sacks speaking sense.... exactly what the rest of the world feels about the US
At 57:55 you can see that friedberg is enjoying the show more than us 😎
Thank you for turning on closed captions! :) helps me a lot.
Love JCal but he is coping hard on BRICS
Chamath spot on about BRICS. As usual, Solana-slinger Sacks sounds like he knows what he’s talking about but he never does.
Chamth/Sacks were spot on wrt their thoughts on neo-colonial behavior.
Have to agree with Sacks it’s worring that Jason thinks these countries are waiting for the United States to go help them in any way
Yes as a foreigner whom had grownup over there in the States, I can tell you guys that we HATE the U.S. foreign policies, and yes we felt that U.S. plays a major role in events leading up to this war.
"We" lmao. You're one online goof
Cool, lots of great information on this pod. Glad these guys are back at discussing important topics as oppose to self aggrandizing themselves. Bravo 👏
David is correct!😊
Chamath and Sacks nailed it w/regards to BRICS discussion - appreciate the honesty. Loved the "India does not need our help" bit by Chamath. No doubt, the USA is a great power/leader, but it suffers from a superiority complex and gross hypocrisy, which is increasingly turning off the rest of the world.
“Are we the baddies”? Should always be taken into consideration imo
Agreed 💯
David Sacks just taking no nonsense whatsoever 👏 👏
Love Sacks!
