Great review, thank you!
My exo scorpion visor goes into the helmet.
hey there. watching all reviews i can on this helmet. I know you mentioned not having your sunglasses in this video , but generally how does the helmet handle glasses? I need to wear rx lenses, and when i ride rx sunglasses are a must. any issues getting yours on or staying in place when using this helmet?
It holds my sunglasses in pretty well; it's a snug fit for me. They don't flop around or anything. I guess it would depend on how tight the pads are to your face based on your sizing.
I'm using glasses with mine and getting them on is surprisingly easy! There's a little eyeglasses icon inside so I'm pretty sure they've put some thought into it.
do you listen to music when riding? as in through the fairing speakers? if so, can you hear the music well? I'm a half helmet guy, but feel I need more protection of a full face...
I do listen to music through the fairing while riding and I can hear it just fine. But, I have 4 speakers with 100W a piece so it can get pretty loud. With a full face helmet you can tell a difference when your face shield is open or closed. Even just a little crack to vent makes a difference.
So you meant the switch for the chin vents. They can open and close correct?
Yes. The switch is on the inside of the chin to open/close the chin vents.
@@mjdcycles thanks for the reply.
I’m trying to sweep away from ruroc and this is a high contender. I might buy it today.
Ignoring that your exhaust is probably not the most quiet.
At what speed would you say does the helmet get loud, and when would you say earplugs are recommended when riding 10-20mins?
Thanks in advance
I can ride around town without ear plugs just fine. I've got loud exhaust and a loud radio. If I'm going to be on the highway much I put earplugs in. It's a fairly quiet helmet but I've got the fairing blocking a lot of the wind. Earplugs are a good idea in general though.
At what speed would you say is the wind noticable and when is it loud. Maybe you could stand on a ride to see how the helmet is without your fairings blocking the wind, that would be super cool of you :-)
@@mjdcycles
@@Daniel-dj7fh I notice the wind as soon as I start moving and it's loud when I'm moving real fast whether sitting or standing 😂
Bogotto Radic is cheaper, actually a trail helmet. Many vents, so many that some times bugs will crash through the vents...
It has the drop down inside visor, but with so many vents the eyes tend to get a bit of air, but I use my some Oki sunglasses underneath and seems to work well!
You see in the summer this particular helmet rocks it pretty well, although not as much protection as my winter helmet... But I thought that at the legal speed limits I ride at it should suffice. And the look is simply really different and cool...very comando, pilot, special military forces look, if you know what I mean 😊
I saw the Scorpion one, and the street fighter, which is almost the same as the Bogotto Radic helmet.
Looks like a cool helmet! Pretty different than the EXO. 👍
Love scorpion helmets but no drop down visor is a deal breaker for me
It's my first helmet without one. It's not been an issue so far, easy to adjust to.
Also, it looks like the face shield is only prep to open with your clutch hand.
@@giocrypt5148 Correct
@@giocrypt5148my scorpion exo covert visor slides into the helmet. Ambidextrous flip up.
Dude, your mic audio is not good. Pretty sure you know that. Don’t take this as disrespect. I’m glad you made a video. You obviously know what you’re doing on the video end, what actually happened with the audio?
(I left a like by the way)
Since I don't have a Gopro on my chin I used my Cardo bluetoothed to my phone to record audio. It's not ideal but it works. Thanks for the like!
How is the ventilation? I live in Florida and need good ventilation.
@@kencasper5807 It's not the greatest but that may be because I'm behind the fairing and I have long hair. It may be different if you have more air hitting the helmet. I mostly ride with the visor cracked so it hasn't been an issue.
The only thing that annoys me is how light the smoke is on the free visor, it’s virtually the same as the clear visor!! I understand it’s in order to keep it legit for the ECE rating, but even trying to get a “black” visor (for track use, obviously lol) is completely impossible here in the UK. I’ve even contacted Scorpion Europe & they can’t help. Scorpion USA were going to help, until they found out I’m in the UK then I just got fobbed off. For me, it’s a deal breaker, especially when I can get a Biltwell lane splitter with a proper dark visor for about the same price & to be honest for me, the Biltwell is slightly more comfortable, but obviously no control over the venting like you you have on the Scorpion. It’s a shame because I do like the Scorpion, just give me a damn dark visor. They even have them on ALL their other models! 🤷♂️
That's crazy! Didn't know they had a different level in Europe. I guess you've got to go with what you can get and make the best of what's available. Cheers!
@@mjdcycles I know. I guess the part that narked me is I’d only watched American vids before I purchased & of course you guys get black visors so I presumed (which as we all know, is the mother of all ..ck ups) that’s what I’d get. But hey you live & learn. My biggest concern is that this is going to become more common here in the UK. I hope not but 🤷♂️
Interesting that you only see one choice when ordering. You'd think they'd show the two options or the lighter option based on where you are ordering from.@@SteveN-American-tin
@@mjdcycles I think that’s because they put the visors in the box at the factory, that way they only have to state that there is a “smoke” visor included with the clear, they don’t have to define how smoked, or what region/country it’s going to on the box.
Makes sense. @@SteveN-American-tin
