  • I made a friend a solar charging e-Bike and it's way better than the one I got. More solar power and a better trailer. Links below.

This is the second solar charging e-bike (not scooter) I built. I got to say it's better than mine, has a better trailer with a cover and a 100W foldable solar panel. And this time everything mentioned in the kit was actually in the kit when it arrived. only tool a month to get here.
The kit was easy to install and with only one small issue, an overlook of mine. The controller bag made for a rear rack, and we didn't have a rear rack. it was also a bit too big to attach anywhere.
The trailer hitch needed to be drilled out to fit the shaft on the rear hub motor. So that ended up getting done the next day as I couldn't find a bit large enough.
In the end it's done and works better than mine, as in it drives and the trailer power bank charges faster with that 100W panel, I only have a 30W panel for now as I'm going as light as possible, but I might need 60W.
Stay tuned for part 2 I'm editing it now.

I'm on my way to finish off Toonz ride. Just a few quick things to do and will show it off in full.

I guess it can protect the wires when shipped like that maybe

With batteries getting cheaper why not go with a larger one like 50ah/100ah instead?

There not cheap enough for me yet but I have a solution I think in an upcoming vid.

@@Ro-Bucks Ok, was thinking it more of a weight issue more than a price issue.

IF your talking lead acid ya, 50Ah lithium would be lighter than my lead acid right now. If I could afford it my dream is a 16s prismatic cell battery

@@Ro-Bucks Why that particular brand/battery? I checked and they are VERY pricey.
