Great instructions. Beautiful results. The seal on the stationary portion of my kitchen window apparently wore out and so that part of it has become discolored with white spots in between the two panes. Before I replace the window I am going to try this method. It's so lovely anyway that I want to use it on one of my hutches as well. This way my window will remain functional for now AND look gorgeous. New windows aren't cheap. Thanks.

@@VintageBeeDesign I looked again, I know why you kept. It is a nice colour and the glass fabulous I want to do thexmirror glass and stencil on my front door. It's an old Victorian era home, and the original glass was that etched glass, however only one piece left inside in the door into the living room, that is red with a pattern. I have always wanted to do etched glass in the front door but expensive to buy it, the red is way expensive. Now I see this I think the mirror glass and stencil is the way to go. I know you can now buy etching paste but I like this. Is there a final reveal where you put them that I could look at?

Thank you ... I have a vintage airstream and two of the windows look terrible because there is an interior UV film between two layers of glass that is cracked and curling and can't be removed until I take the entire two-window assembly apart. I'm going to use this technique to camouflage the cracked UV, but without the background coat because I want the light to show through ... may be a disaster, but this is the best method I can think of, temporarily, to make the windows decorative in a way that will let light through and use the crackle as a design element. Experimenting by the seat of my pants! lol

I do my pattern, then use mirror spray, then metallic spray (they have a different look than each other). The metallic silver will look like the mirror has lost it’s reflectiveness. So, you’ll have the shiny mirror and the “dull “ mirror, just like real mercury glass.

Any mirror glass product can be used. I typically buy mine on Amazon.

Bonnie Criscione-Brown ok. They are seriously dark. 😬 if it were my kitchen, I would probably have new glass cut and inserted, or even more likely, paint over the glass.

Was just wondering do you find baby wipes work better then paper towel? I’ve never antiqued a mirror before but I’m gearing up to. Any kind baby wipe?

    • @VintageBeeDesign

Paper towels are absorbent whereas baby wipes are still moist. I didn’t want to completely blot it all up. Either would work. I’m generally not someone who uses baby wipes for projects, but it is helpful here .

😕 I would say it’s ok if someone likes that look but it’s not the look for me but it was interesting to watch

I enjoyed this, thank you. The video could really do without the tinkling and tapping noises in the background though.

You say, " I think you'll find when it's all done, it's pretty spectacular." Well, you didn't show us the completed piece of furniture. Would really have liked to have seen the finished product all put together. I'm sure it was nice.

Should you have been inhaling all those paint fumes when you were pregnant? At least you look pregnant.

Awww. You are concerned for my health AND you think I’m young enough to have been pregnant. How thoughtful of you! Thanks for watching and thinking of me!

What do you think the purpose of a tutorial is? I will say the” I’m gonna go ahead…” started to get distracting, but that’s probably a more me thing than it is Vintage Bee thing.
