too late, the HOA that built AFTER the track was there, hates the noise and strong armed him out when they bought the property the patron parking lot sits on... they can still have the track but won't have any parking so it's pointless. I hate people who move out of the city and then start changing all the things we like to do outside of the city. smh
From a report from someone who knows the family, the place is closing due to selling off land and not having enough area for teams. The HOA and homeowners had to sign a paper stating they knew it would or could be very loud in the area. They also don’t have enough water. They have two large containers, but that’s not enough for an emergency.
Even if the Bandimere family is able to buy the property, the red tape of the government and regulatory issues are still there. I hope Colorado allows a new venue but the leadership there and push for the EV BS I have my doubts… So sad, one of the best tracks in the country!
Our Gov officials prostituted out the last Professional racing venue after railroading all other existing tracks. They swindled big media so that we can’t even watch our professional sports teams. If this isn’t the CCP government turning Colorado into 💩 then it’s also Cartel money.
And everything illegal being given the free pass to just be violent “fun” for criminals. Oh what a time we live in when the nostalgia of our past isn’t allowed to exist anymore but new and improved ( no longer grand fathered so must follow new government regulations) is allowed to shove it way in. Notice how the EPA won’t allow performance shops to work on cars(RPM ACT) and now we’re losing our only drag stripe north of PUEBLO🤦♂️. This government overreach has to stop!!
They sold a lot of the land over the years and can no longer accommodate larger crews from what I was told. They also don’t have enough water supply for an emergency.
Blah out by the airport yuk just another track on flat ground nothing unique or special like it is now. Besides the last race track out by the airport was getting hassled alot about noise so commerce city didnt renew the lease and the place was sold to a home builder
Which one would that be? "Conservative" Republicans just used the highest federal court in the land to pass restrictions on the private medical decisions of half the populace.. And they were, supposedly, the party for less government, more personal freedoms... You think Democrats are going to suddenly tutn a 180 and adopt the same platform??
My first was in '63 or '64 at CDR, just south of Castle Rock. You can still see traces of it on Google Maps between Gambel Ridge Dr N and Dawson Ridge Blvd about a quarter mile west of I-25. Those were the days when we looked forward to seeing our first 200+ in less than 8 seconds pass...cheers
Tragic! The mountain and the scenery adds so much to this venue.
Real estate billionaires ruin everything.
And corrupt government officials in Jefferson County help them ruin the area.
Come on colorado we can't let this happen
Fr 😢

Yup agreed. I used to race there back in the mid 90's
the state and city are a;ready backing this.
Yep, it’s actually known in other countries as well.
Nah. It has to due with resources and land. They just don’t have enough of either. They would have so much more at DIA.

It’s an absolute shame! After all those years!
What are they going to build in place of the beautiful track? Shops, more apartments, huge estates? I hope all of your kids Parrish street racing
The housing developer dirt bags always win out eventually in Colorado.
Doesn’t have anything to do with that. The media lied to us.
Brilliant idea and hear me out..STOP BUILDING HOUSES NEAR RACE TRACKS!!
Amen
Nothing to do with that. The media lied to us.
Another nhra track falls hard
I been going there since the 80s Love seeing John Force ❤
Everything fun is becoming illegal
Pretty sad when its legal to modify your gender, but not your car.
@@scandinavianflickgd7331 so true

Reminds me of all the malfesance involved when Jefferson County stole property to build the nearby reservior in the late 70s.
They shouldn’t have surrendered it. No matter where they go, they will just come after them again.
So did the family sell the land? Or are they the ones that are going to redeveloped it?
They sold a lot of the land over the years and can no longer accommodate larger crews from what I was told. They also don’t have enough water supply for an emergency.
Build a new state of the art facility. Cannot wait for this as it brings millions and millions of dollars to our local economy.

They’re making sure there won’t be any noise complaints. It’s why this is taking so long, they want to ensure that nothing bad will happen.
Good thing,wheew rebuilding that's better
It's sad . Closing an iconic track that's been there for decades for more track homes to go in.
Another classic example of why big government is bad for America. Always Vote for the party that supports smaller government.

Please please please move out by airport
Tony Stewart said it best at the track in an interview.
No that was John Force
My first drag race I ever saw was in 1985🥹
