    This is a nice combination of a number of parts from the Axial Yeti and the Axial Wraith. Combining the best features of both worlds.
    It comes equipped with a forward battery setup - A mod that almost all Wraith owners do. So that's a great feature.
    Axial did a nice job on this rock racer.
    Also found under these terms:
    Axial RR10 Bomber, Axial Bomber, Axial RR10, RC Rock Racer, Rc Crawler

    I missed this the first couple of times around. Sale dropped the price to around 250$ and at that price it was hard to say no.

    It needs a lot of work for it to be fun for me. But I eventually got it where I want it. Brushless motor, metal links and servo.

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  2 роки тому

      Definitely those are all needed upgrades to get the most out of the scale experience. Taking the flex out of all the links gives you better stiffens through your drivetrain for better control. As well as a stronger servo have the ability to turn in tight situations we're a lot more pressure and strength is needed to get your tires in the right direction. And always going with the sensored brushless motor. Always worth wild upgrade more power and smoother acceleration.

    I'm on the fence between the Bomber and the Spawn - your thoughts?

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  5 років тому

      If you are still trying to decide between the two at this point there is benefit with the Bonner because the spawn which is on The Wraith platform will be discontinued. However obviously part support and tons of other things will still be available for The Wraith they are both super capable vehicles I would say the biggest difference between the two is the bomber can handle better high speeds. And the rate is better in the rocks.

    tactic servo has some metal gears but the main drive gear is plastic and stripped out in about three minutes . hobbieco makes axial and they are very good at replacing broken parts on their products .

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  8 років тому

      +cameron haga Very true most reputable Rc company stand behind their product. They all basically will replace anything for the first 30 days. Unless you drive it into a tree or something at top speed and it breaks while then it's on you most of the time. As far as servers go most of the time they're always underpowered and in axles case not strong enough to really efficiently do the job. Especially when it comes to vehicles running 2.2 tires. But I do understand why they used electronics they do. It's all about keeping their final price point reasonable. They make the product work! They don't make it bulletproof. If they did the price point would be too high for the average person to want to throw down that much money at once. Also for the most part people in this hobby myself included that get in to scaling or crawling would say it's definitely half the fun to put your own electronics links, Suspension,Gears and accessories on yourself.

    it's got a lot of cool features, but i'm not crazy about the motor set up. i think i'll wait until rollers start showing up on ebay

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  8 років тому

      I will agree the motor combo is nothing special. However once you consider a servo the you could use to run a two speed transmission if you are going to put one in and a three channel controller that has a selectable two or three position switch on it the price is pretty fair. As far as the advanced hobbyist that already has a three or four channel controller an extra service vignette a roller might be a better option.

    Sweet crawler too

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  8 років тому

      It is a pretty good crawler it does have some flaws out of the box. however compared to the Wraith. Which you could argue is its predecessor in a way. It is a more capable vehicle out of a in stock form .

  • @TimoBirnschein

    To me it looks like the anti sway bar is absolutely mandatory. The front left tire lifts of the ground constantly during a climb. That can't be good at all! With this price tag, I'm actually a bit surprised that it does come with a brushed motor but even worst without the sway bar!

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  8 років тому

      Like I mentioned in the video it is very obvious that it needs one. Honestly I would have to say quiet a blender on axles part that No sway bar was included. It creates a huge deficit when on any steep incline you lose all the traction of one tire include the steering authority.

    • @TimoBirnschein
      @TimoBirnschein 8 років тому

      +Vortex Hobbies R/C Hobby Store Thanks for the response. That's what I thought as well. It's so sad because the vehicle looks just fantastic!

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  8 років тому

      First off I do think they should have included a sway bar even if it made it another 10 or 15 bucks because it in my opinion is a serious performance issue. However that being said with all axial products they give you a really good face however I don't think any of them are a complete vehicle they all need aluminum upgrades they all need metal links. Also not to include that there are better fabricated and different designs of parts to put on all these vehicles. So is it worth it to them to make that vehicles price point any higher when frankly there are better aftermarket choices. And then there's the added cost that this is a licensed vehicle therefore they have to pay more just to slap that name on the box and on the vehicle. And you can definitely see that difference when you look at something like the deadbolt compared to the rest of the scx10. That have Jeep or Dodge bodies and that is the only difference. But can be up to $40 more. To sum up don't sell the bomber short because of the sway bar it is a really well thought out vehicle. And as a good addition to anyone's RC arsenal.

    Does a 3s battery fit in the front?

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  8 років тому +1

      +MRC yes I use a 3s all the time in my bomber. However it will need to be a soft pack. A hard case 3s lipo will not fit typically unless you find the kind that are in 2 s formfactor case. Usually to get that you have to drop the milliamp rating down considerably. Which means lesser runtime.

    How does that part you talked about work to relocate the spare tire? I must be damaged because I cant seem to figure it out.

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  8 років тому

      +MrRonin055 the best way is to actually take the stock spare tire mount and flip it around. instead of extending out of the chassis run it into the chassis it works great. You have to match the tire a little bit into the sides of the frame.

    • @MrRonin055
      @MrRonin055 8 років тому

      +Vortex Hobbies R/C Hobby Store So then you dont use that piece, but you just reverse the stock mount. Do you have to remove the fuel cell?

    how fast it is

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  8 років тому

      +Playingrobb because it comes with a 35 turn motor you need to use a 3s LiPo battery to at least get it up around 16-18 mph on a 2s lipo I would say to us maybe 12 miles mph. the bomber itself is made for speed however the electronics that come with the RTR are not.

      +jamsnation very true. like I mentioned on the video a rear sway bar should have been a stock feature on this kit. But anyways add it and it is great truck I've Loved mine

    • @Merkaba954
      @Merkaba954 7 років тому

      Vortex Hobbies R/C Hobby Store how much does the swat bar effect the flex of the truck?
      Im thinking of getting one and using double suspension setup JPRC here on UA-cam has it set up that way and it looks like his doesn't twist anywhere near as bad.
      I've been thinking if getting a Gmade Gom but I just can't decide.
      I have a Score TT and a SCX10 II. Which I love.

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  7 років тому +1

      +jamsnation first off the sway bar effects it yes a little bit in its ability to drop axel however not too much I would say it's best to run a Yeti length sway bar as the one that is meant for the bomber sometimes folds back up on itself and causes a problem.
      My thought with G made they do make some pretty cool stuff its innovative some of it is great some of it not so great but the biggest reason I prefer staying with the mainstream Brands is of course part support and aftermarket support. You can walk into almost any hobby shop and get what you need when it breaks. And due to the popularity of the scale RC there are so many independent little fabrication businesses making Parts it is endless to upgrade and customize for mainstream brand vehicles. Where the G made you are kind of stack.

      I totally agree. I am a huge fan of my SCX10 II
