  • The Shark Senses VR exhibit debunks myths around sharks by teaching users (especially the youth) how interesting sharks really are. Based on the principles of experiential learning, the experience is designed as an immersive education game to educate visitors to your centre about sharks' highly developed sense of hearing, smell, sight and feeling.
The interactive experience is house in a custom-built shark head equipped with sensory technology. While playing, visitors navigate the ocean from a shark's perspective by moving the shark head either left or right. As the hunt their virtual prey in the 3D underwater environment, they learn about how the shark uses its senses. Directional audio cues mimic the sharks sense of hearing, while a fan generating air flow alludes to the sense of smell sharks have. Vibrations in the handle-bars mimic the electromagnetic field sharks detect when they are close to their prey.
