@@sorbetcafe yeah, I used it for the wall since I didn't wanna do a whole lava set up... Made the wall a lot more feasible to do. It also made early hardmode and late prehardmode a lot simpler too
After doing a little research I think that I may have found the minimum amount of blocks necessary to beat the game. If you have seen crabbars skyblock videos then it is a similar concept of trying to have the minimum blocks possible however with the new update the amount of blocks can now be lowered substantially. First place a lihzahrd brick in the cavern layer below spawn, then put a platform on top of it, next place a cloud block to one side and a mushroom grass block to the other, you may now pour shimmer on the inside of this, place a lihzahrd altar on top of these three blocks, the final step will be to place a Forbidden lihzahrd brick wall around 70 blocks horizontally away. From what I know this is the minimum blocks to beat the game with. If there are any improvements to be made feel free to change it, the cloud block is just to nullify fall damage and to keep the shimmer in.
It's a cool idea, but the main thing I don't like about it is just how long the game takes like that. It's a lot of waiting around and fishing, which isn't very interesting/exciting. I'll keep it in mind though.
@@GlueSnorter2 I'm not certain but I think it would be because of convenience due to golem enraging on the surface or outside the underground jungle and since there aren't really any other bosses that are summoned in the same way ig it minimises pain

Something that probably would not work for this challenge, but is astill a fun fact. is the damage buff from psycho knife applies to the shield of cthulhu (and I think solar armor, at least as of 1.4) Letting you have quite the damage boost if you can afford to sit completely still for multiple seconds in a boss fight and hit him with the dash afterwards.
You could do armor damage only. cactus, orichalcum, titanium(?), forbidden armor, chlorophyte. To make it less tedious, you could use a weapon for WoF, but only WoF. Do Cactus armor and thorns potion effect stack? This would be against the rules of the challenge (unless you decide that it isn't). I'm just curious.
pretty sure Thorns buff does stack with Cactus and Turtle armor sets, Titanium set however would not be possible as you have nothing to trigger the titanium shards, also boss exceptions are lame and if there needs to be an exception to progress further then it's not a good challenge

Out of curiosity you say you gave yourself the shield of cthulu to start so you didnt have to cheese deerclops. Im curious without a way to damage him how would you have cheesed him?
I find that it disrupts my ability to dodge by causing me to dash accidentally sometimes, and the dashing isn't something I incorporate into my dodging/I don't like the way it feels, so the benefit isn't very helpful to me most of the time.

I definitely share the opinion that the shield of Cthulhu is the best accessory in the entire game, simply because of its versatility and how early you get it. The ability to dodge quickly to the side is valuable for most boss fights and large enemy fights(particularly against biome mimics) I admit the dodging can get annoying when it’s done accidentally, although I haven’t experienced that with boss fights very much but I definitely have while building bridges and stuff. The dodging combined with the fact you can dash into boss dashes to be immune provides another option of dodging for queen bee, duke fishron, and such. I don’t know, I just like it a lot, I think its better overall than the master ninja gear

Dashing is an alternative dodging solution imo, it doesn't enable you to do anything unique it's just one of many ways of avoiding things. Main thing is the accidental dashing when I don't want to though, one of the few things I can't stand. I tap a and d a lot when moving.
