I got a bit confused around the 6 minute mark. You said that the bacterial density is highest in the proximal colon but then went on the say that bacterial density and diversity as well as mucus thickness increase as you move along the colon... Which of these is true?
I think he means there is a greater bacterial density & diversity compared to the small intestine, and as you move along the colon you will find more bacteria and different types.
Sorry, this video contains mayor inaccurate statements that portray the gut microbiome only as planktonic microorganism, when it is widely known that there are microorganisms integrated in a biofilm over the gut epithelium.
