    Been running the 500's for a little over a month.
    The mic and noise cancelling are excellent. Sometime the mic can be almost little TOO sensitive but it does make me feel like I have super hearing.
    These make my old Leight seem pathetic. I used to wear foam underneath when shooting rifles, but I feel like this is unnecessary with the Peltors. The hearing protection is outstanding.
    The bluetooth is well worth the extra $$$ and makes listened to music at the range easy and safe.

      Just got these this week and upgraded to Gel ear cups. So comfortable and amazing hearing protection, what foam do you use underneath?
      I've discovered a weird echo effect when listening to music or pod cast through bluetooth (more prominent when it's just recorded voice on podcast. There is literally an echo, very weird. I don't experience it when I have it wired in via the 3.5 jack. Do you get the same issue? I'm still very happy with them as the bluetooth is a minor advantage for my use while hunting/deer stalking.

      Thanks for report. I bought the 100’s along time ago had to buy a proprietary cord to run my baofeng uv- 5r. That little wire was $54. I think these I could use a regular cord.

    I just received my P300's and I have to say that these are a BIG step above the previous electronic muffs I've owned over the years. I believe this employs a "look-ahead" limiter of sorts to detect and duck out the transient attack of the firearm's shot(s), and the release time is calculated to the surrounding environment you are in.... great audio-engineering on PT's end for this design. I am impressed. As for the gel-inserts option, may not be necessary on the new 300 and 500 series, as the cups on these are very comfortable and for me wearing glasses, does not present a pinching or air-seal issue at all....
    Great value for its price point indeed.

    First of all love my comment from 2 years ago, but I just want to say what I use these the most for is working out in my yard, the bluetooth combined with the hearing protection is awesome for mowing the yard, using my chainsaw or weed whacker, it allows you to protect your hearing from loud 2 strokes and listen to your favorite podcast or music at the same time.

    One advantage of the ventilated headband is that if you wear a hat, the button on top fits in the slot so it doesn’t hurt like a solid headband does.

    I've taken calls while shooting and the other person could hear the shots in the background but it wasn't distracting. I could hear the person fine. I also use them while mowing and I stream music from my phone. The audio quality isn't amazing but it's still pretty good. The vent in the strap is nice in that it doesn't press down on the button on a baseball cap. For the money I am really liking them after two months.

    After watching your review, i pulled the trigger and got the 500s, love them, on 50 foot bullseye nights at my sportsman club indoor range i switch on my play list for slow fire and use two good motivational ( Disturbed, vengeful one and indestructible ) songs to pace my self, works like a champ, no more stop watch peeping. one notable feature is your cellphone ring tones still come over both the head set and your phone in case you forget to turn off your head set, no more missed calls.
    as always great review.

    Great review on them, I have the Peltor Tactical 300 and they work great! I added the gel cups with no issue. Easiest thing to do is remove them off of the plastic connectors and add them on the ones on the Peltors. It's just adhesive tape, real easy to do and it makes them that much better.

    The gel seals are expensive, but quite durable and really improve the fit and noise reduction (at least for higher frequencies). I had a pair of gel seals on a 15 year old pair of Peltor aviation headsets. I don't use that particular headset anymore, so I swapped the seals with my Tactical Sport headsets. They snapped right on and are still as soft and conforming as ever despite being a decade and a half old.

    Thank you for posting this review. I'm blind and I shoot, so hearing protection is important to me. I appreciate that you showed the audio guide voice feature. I'm sure Peltor didn't have blind shooters in mind, but it's one of those accidentaL accessibility features. Question... Do you have favorite ear plugs? I would like something rubbery/rigid rather than squishy, but not sure if they exist.

The Spring clip (Metal coat hanger wire that connected the ere Cup to the Head gear) broke. 3M said they're not replaceable - Tried to fix it, ended up tossing them a few months ago. I've been using foam earplugs for years. Never had the need for electronic hearing protection.
    Even through all the classes and shoot-houses, I stuck with the foam ear plugs. Only once did I wish I had something more. Back when I ran a course inside a dwelling using an M1A Scout. I had a headache for days, but it was entirely worth it! I explained it in greater detail on the +Sootch00 video review of the Springfield Armory SOCOM 16.
    I have also experienced non-suppressed fire inside of a building without hearing protection of any kind. I would not recommend it at all if you can avoid it. Prepare for tinnitus and some general discomfort for a while. Which is why I am not an advocate of a shotgun for home defense. Muzzle blast and decibels will ruin not only your assailant but you, your family and your pets will be hurting too.
    Does that mean my hearing has been damaged? Absolutely. I just look at it as heightening my other senses.
    Stay safe and keep up the good work my friends.

      Mrgunsngear Channel I'm curious to how the 500s would do say mowing grass with a riding mower and listening to music. Do they do a good job of muting the mower and still be able to hear the music. I have a pair of the 3m Bluetooth radio headsets now but you really have to turn the volume up to still hear the music over the mower which to me defeats the purpose of the nrr. Is or would this be the case with the 500's

    I have the Peltor 300's. The headband is very hard and get's quite irritating if worn for extended periods. The width of the cups most certainly does interfere with cheek weld as well. I ended up buying a wrap for the hard headband, and the Camelbak gel cups. If I had it to do over, I would not purchase these.

    Question....my hearing isn't that great anymore, largely due to loud music and shooting a lot without hearing protection when I was a kid. That being said, I dont hear a lot of different tones like crickets and some birds. Okay so that's where my question is, we do a lot of hiking and some shooting, would the 300's be good for picking up on sounds I cant hear anymore out hiking? Thanks!

    Thanks for the informational video! My main reasoning for buying these would be for durability and water resiliency. I work outdoors and excercise in the rain and moisture from sweat got into my last ones and eventually corroded the connections. But that was after a year of hard abuse for about $50. In your opinion are these worth all that money when I basically just need bluetooth headphones that are water proof? Or should I just buy $50 ones until they break down.

Whenever I have a very specific gear question it's usually answered by this channel faster than the other ones. I have been waiting for someone to review these new headsets.
    A little off tangent but - have you tried putting those Camelbak gel cups on the Peltor Tactical Sport 100s?
    Also I think I asked you this before but have you ever gotten ear or jaw aches from wearing a headset too long? Do any of the new Peltors do that to you?

    • @Rickjames127
      @Rickjames127 7 років тому

      Sorry I didn't make that very clear did I. The most I'd be willing to spend is likely $150 but it seems at this point after watching your Peltor Tac 100 video those fit my needs more. Plus at roughly $60 a pair I can afford 2 of those for the price of 1 bluetooth model. I just don't see using bluetooth on a device originally designed for hearing protection. The directional based hearing should really help with situational awareness too.

    Fun fact...just cause I was curious (and quite surprised) about its true capabilities: it will actually provide audio for any input, regardless of which others might already be in use. I hooked my phone up with bluetooth and a kenwood handheld up with an aux cord and it was still providing ambient noise as well as both of those!
    Does anyone know to what degree these are water resistant?
    *edit: all I have are the 500s so all that is about those specifically

      @trevor894 6 років тому

      Igorvgavrilyuk I've only ever worn the 500s I like them alot so far
      One thing I will say though is they claim 26db reduction witch as it happens is the same claim that the little foam things you stick in your ear I use at work makes witch I've always used before I bought the 500s and any gun in any environment so far is wayyy quiter with the lil foamies in even though they both say 26db reduction
      That said they still bring sound down enough just something to think about

    Thanks for clearing up a question I had . I was wondering if the sound amplification feature of these would still work if an audio cord was attached. I'm considering these for my family and was considering using these plugged into the audio output of a shoulder mic but I dont want to lose the ability to talk at low volume with them on. Do you think this would work ? Thanks for all your great videos!
