  • "War is peace, ignorance is strength, freedom is slavery". It all became real in Putinland now.
Collective Putin like an Agent Smith from “Matrix” tries to get in everyone's consciousness. He's a master of lies. I'm Russian and it's been so difficult and hurtful to live every day knowing of what is criminal regime is doing with Russian people, with the people I know. How much problems and grief it causes, not only in Russia but all over the world. This regime is destroying my country in every form, on every level. It's been destroying my country for 22 years and it will continue to do so. Now this regime is destroying our neighbour country Ukraine.
Many people say that teaching Russian has nothing to do with Russian politics. On the contrary, I can not get away from the context of being Russian myself and what is means to be Russian right now.
Here are some reasons why i personally dislike the Putin regime and why it could be so dangerous for other countries as well:
    1. Lack of political freedoms: Under Putin's regime, there has been a crackdown on political opposition and freedom of speech. Critics, journalists, and political opponents have faced harassment, imprisonment, or worse.
    2. Killing, imprisonment and torture of it’s own citizens: There have been lots of human rights abuses in Russia under Putin's leadership, including torture, extrajudicial killings, and suppression of basic constitutional rights including freedom of speech and rights to assemble. These actions can violate international human rights standards and undermine the dignity and well-being of individuals.
    3. Government treats Russian citizens with contempt
There is no institutions or rights left to defend a Russian citizen from government authorities. 9-15 years in jail is a normal practice in Russia for those people who say or write something against the authorities or put like in a social media. It’s started to remind North Korea. Some words prohibited in Russia and to use those are illegal. For instance: you can not say “war” instead “special military operation”. Some people got sentenced to jail because of that.
4.Corruption: Corruption is widespread in Russia, with oligarchs and government officials often accused of enriching themselves at the expense of the general population. This can lead to inequality, injustice, and a lack of trust in government institutions.
    5. Kremlin regime is weakening Russia in all forms possible
Weakening of Russian police and military forces in the eye of real danger. Police and special forces have been showing themselves inadequate and incapable of a real danger. Instead there are now chasing activists, chasing students and children for “like” and they're completely losing touch with what is like to be one-to-one with a man with a weapon, one-to-one with a real danger. Professionalism is replaced with loyalty. Bad selection has been taken place for 22 years. lots of soldiers come back with a post war syndrome and almost every day we have news that people from war are now hurt, kill or worse other people including children. It looked like there is not protection from them, no protection from police, not production from the government. Instead we all fed with future threats, lies and so on. Russia does not want police that beat students and old people with a poster, Russia needs a real men.
    6. Wars: Chechen republic, Georgia, Crimea, military intervention in Ukraine and Syria, and alleged interference in the internal affairs of other countries. Such actions can destabilize regions, escalate conflicts, and threaten international peace and security. It all lead to thousand kid’s lives have been lost and millions of refugees.
    7. Destroying the economy: Despite Russia's vast natural resources, its economy faces numerous challenges, including dependence on oil and gas exports, economic sanctions, and astronomical corruption. These economic difficulties have been impacting the standard of living for ordinary citizens and exacerbate social inequalities.
    8. Propaganda:
Domestic propaganda. Within Russia, the Kremlin controls all the media landscape, using state-owned outlets to disseminate propaganda that promotes Putin's image and policies while suppressing dissenting voices. This allows the government to shape public opinion and maintain control over the narrative.
