If all the best bass singers say that low notes aren't as important as getting better with singing in general, I'd say, that's gotta be the way to go. Everybody is saying the low notes will come and it's gotta be true. Love the advice.
Thank you guys. I thoroughly enjoy each an every video you do. They have been off the " Chain Gang " lately. I am about to retire and wanting so much to get out and find a group. I started singing bass with a regional group at 16 and toured for 2 years. Now ready to jump back with my ole school voice. Its much better now...LOL
I agree that it is very important to be melodious when hitting low notes and not just producing sound. But there’s no disputing that note Jeff Chapman hits in CHAIN GANG is not full “chest voice” and it still sounds amazing.
You should have a podcast
Great Interview.
Met Ian about a yr ago. AWESOME singer!!!
My warm up song is Hold To Your Heart by Exile doing the lead to exercise my vocals then. Anything Richard Sterban
Brilliant interview. Gained alot of respect for Owens in this interview. He did fill in big shoes for each group he's sing with.
Love it! As an aspiring bass singer myself, I always enjoy these!
Man, I really really enjoyed this interview.its is packed with so much to learn and apply to bass singing.

I wonder what the likely hood is looking like at getting #TimDuncan on for one of these?
Man, you have put Gene McDonald in the description...

Sorry I missed spelled his name it’s paul David kenamer
I wonder if you could get to have an interview with Tim Storms (aka the lowest bass singer on earth)
