Thank you for this! The element in my machine has just failed, knocking the fuse out. I ordered a new part but needed to get the washing out. Thanks to your reminder that when the machine is empty it will open normally, I realised that not only could I drain the machine without the element tripping the power again, but I could also finish my wash on a cold programme! It's running happily now, and I should soon have some fairly clean T-shirts to hang up 😀.
Thanks so much for posting this . Your approach is really calm, logical and helpful - the situation is less stressful when you realise the solution is just a set of steps to follow. Much appreciated!
Omg this video saved my life my washing machine door was stuck full of bed sheet, I drained the water and turned the machine back on and managed to open the door again. Thank u so much for such a helpful video.
Drain Line idea not workable on my Bosch; top-mounted exit port. The pump drain idea was perfect, emptied the washer, cleaned out the gunk, back in business! $0.00 spent. Thanks!
Thanks. Great video. If you still can’t open the door then there is a plastic coloured tab at the base of your machine ( after you taken front off in stage 2 of the video it should be visible) . Pull that down while opening the door and it will open. You should then be able to unlock the door and get washing out! Make sure you have at least done the 3 stages first so less water in the drum.
AWESOME LIFE HACK TIP!!! Many thanks for posting this!!! My Whirlpool Duet front load washer just had some failure (maybe hot water supply valve) that caused it to fill all the way to the top - while it wasnt washing! It was smart enough to start chiming an alarm and locked the door - even though it wasnt even on (though it was plugged in). I tried to override the locked door (flashing light) and then I looked through the glass with flashlight and it was full to the VERY TOP with water!!! (Kudos to Whirlpool for it being smart enough to save us having about 40 gallons of water on the ground!) Anyway I was stumped on how to drain found your video and this did the trick. Just lower the drain hose below the water level and into a bucket and it flows out. If it is slow then blow into the drain hose and get ready for a blast of water. Well done sir!
Hi drain hose on a Bosch will not drain water into a bucket or basin as it is high up near the water valve and not on the floor. When draining water from filter place 2 towels at least around your container or basin to mop up water that will drain into the floor underneath your machine. There are 7 blocks in Washing machine and not 2. I hope this help
It does drain, until the siphon action fails when the water level in the machine is the same as the water in the basin or washing up bowl ! I've just got more 8 litres out of mine.
then started clanging and real loud rattling noises so I turned it off any ideas to the problem I did find some small ripped material in the drain after watching your video thankyou..please help
hi my machine started making strange noises and wouldn't spin or drain after flooding the kitchen took wrong hose off...finally got it emptied did the beko test left spin fine right spin fine then went on to full spin yayyy but then started clanging and rattling really noisey and loud I turned it off any ides to what this problem is please help
Thanks very much for this video. Got an unknown error code, and couldn't drain the drum. Long story made short, found two breast feeding pads mangled in the filter and the drum waste pipe. Thank you so very much 👍
Thanks for this, I emptied out the water from the filter at the bottom and somehow my face mask had got stuck down there blocking it! Machine working fine now 😊
