- A powerful drug counterfeiter plays above the law, but it appears karma is also above the law.
Directed by Editi Effiong
Starring Shaffy Bello, Daniel Etim Effiong and Moshood Fatai
Produced by U.S. Mission, Nigeria in association with Anakle Films
This Daniel Ettim dey act abeg🙌❤️
He is really good.
Dami Lola my boyfriend
who loves this shaffy Bello like I do
I love the lady die
as in ehn
She is exceptional.
I love her
Me dear
Cinematography on point, and can we acknowledge 'school boy's' raw acting skills!
He is not a hero
@@mremperog1349 didn’t say he was. You do know he was acting a role, right?
He acted so well
Karma never misses your address. She may just be stuck in traffic but google map will definitely bring her to your doorstep. What goes around comes around. Great job Editi! God bless
wawu..this grammar😃🙋🙋
So true
👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾Proverbs 26:27, Isaiah 3:11
So true! Can I steal this?!
I not seen this level of excellence. No not in a Nigerian movie. Wow...This movie should be given an award for Excellence in Cinematography, Plot and Cast...Even the audio is as clear as a bell. Am simply in awe.
This movie make brain. The storyline, acting and cinematography are top notch. We need more of this kind in Nollywood
Nigerians dey shoot oo. We are growing more than we think. Reporting life from Tina Obiora
Short yet straight to the point. 30min short story that has more sauce than some 2hrs movie.
The effect of substandard drugs in Nigeria is so high and has caused the deaths of many.
The interview at the end is a total turnoff though.. totally unrelated to the story.
Still, good movie. Great initiative. Well done Anakle team, cast & crew 👍👍
The interview is way much related ,maybe you were impatient to pay much attention to its detail. They focused on talking about the effect of product/service counterfeiting or piracy which was the story line of the film.
Fast-paced, captivating story. Solid production. Capturing that water slum living was perfect.
Daniel and mama T 🤔 both were very good in The men club . This was a eye opening short , this type of thing happens in our society because of greed no regard for the people who take this counterfeit trash.
So much love for the movie. I’m here for both Effiong Daniel and Shaffy Bello.❤️❤️
Mummy Shaffy and Daniel Effiong😍.
Nice one!
This film hits a topic that's rather under-discussed in Nigeria.
The counterfeiting of drugs and how these ones who partake get away with it and how they end up paying cos who knows where exactly these drugs end up.
Action needs to be taken!
Nice one guys👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
This movie deserves an award 😍😍😍😍😍💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ms Williams, smoking is bad for your health, while she smokes too. 😂 she's funny
This film was one of the best films I've seen in a long time. The storyline, acting, picture quality and music are all top notch.
Thank you!
The cinematography and editing was spot on. Great to witness the profession of Nollywood standards. Fabulous message too
I could watch shaffy speak all day. She's so alluring and elegant!
This movie just gave me more motivation to work hard and put my own story out there , it's a route I must take .
This has got to be one of the most powerful productions Ive seen in Nollywood so far.
This film addresses corruption in regards to products and their authenticity. The afterthoughts don't correlate with the storyline of the movie but also addresses corruption in regards to movies that lose their value because they are being pirated.
Corruption kills lives and livelihoods that's what I take away from this. Production excellently done.
Great story, amazing cinematoraphy, good direction and acting. I thoroughly enjoyed how the story played with karma in a very simple way... Then I got to the end of the movie and watched as they plugged in piracy in Nollywood and equated it to counterfeiting drugs that take lives. Not the story, time, or place to do such. It should have strictly been about the story of the movie, Nollywood piracy has no place being talked about here.
I personally like the fact that they didn't narrow it to just movie counterfeiting but every form of counterfeiting.... I did understood their point of view quite well
@@maidenhackman7100 my dear bad mind dey worri her
I don't watch Nigerian movies, but I got this video as an ad for another video I was watching. Idk why I didn't skip it after the first 5 seconds, but I definitely don't regret not skipping it after watching it! I love the production, editing and acting on this. Keep it up this is some good work.
Came here for Etim and Moshood💜💜💜💜
The movie is top notched short film but rich in story... shaffy Bello never disappoints me, nice one Editi... the only flaw I saw in the film is that piracy shouldn't have been stressed in the ending conversation because that wasn't the theme
They were talking about all types of counterfeiting however still addressing the film.... The examples are extremely abstract n deep in literature intelligence dear.
An eye opener...
Amazing script
Good work Mr.Editi Effiong
Beautiful! Direction, Cinematography, Story, Cast, Sound, Production Design... the list goes on! Such a stunning film! Definitely coming back to rewatch this!
Nawa for this gentleman oooh na my Area you Dey but you Dey run😂
Wait What? How can you carry such a sensitive storyline and end it with dialogues on mostly movie piracy? Common guys! common!
But why is nobody talking about the major theme in the film in the end credit. The discussion against pirates is important but the film was talking about drugs. An end credit with real life victims will had helped the film story be more relatable. Great film anyways
It is simply because the movie was created to fight counterfeiters of every kind and not just drugs.
The movie is about piracy but they chose to use drugs counterfeiting as the point of connection with the audience.
Agreed
Wow you knew that you had such grand ideas for the ending of a movie but you didn't write and produce your own.
Na wa o, wonders neva end.
@@preztjuswoman Foolish thinking like your own is the reason Africa is lagging behind. People who cannot be educated. Someone just gave good constructive criticism, but nooo. Na your over sabi pangolo head go get sometin to talk about.
This is beautiful. Great plot. Deserves an award. Thumbs up to Moshood Fattah
Hmmmmm what a life , what goes around comes around she’s reaped what she’s been sowing.👌👌👌👌
Smoking is bad for your health but she takes it and smoke....Anyway her diplomatic acting is nice..... Notice it in Battleground
I am not disappointed and that’s a great thing.
This was so GOOD! The message in the movie and on Piracy , the acting, the casting - excellent!!
Thank you for raising awareness about this epidemic!! Well done Shaffy and others 👏🏾👏🏾
Mama T's daughter looks just like her for real.
Honestly! !
i swear dem really resemble
maybe they are sisters for real
I love this woman movies like never before thumbs up for her
Still love this movie. Love that she wore red. Does a crocodile go home and cry for eating a bird's egg....its kinda like kidogo capitalism. Even the shots. The one in the boat.....the cigarette. I would work with this guys for free
Wonderful Movie. What a lesson. This movie was focused on showing the effects of counterfeiting Medical drugs and the victims here were children. Perhaps one should be made on the effects of drug abuse in society as well.
Nominations for the next AMVCA?
it was recommended to me ...and i dont regret clicking it ....great job guys 🤝 .. the story line tops
much love from Zimbabwe
Shaffy bello is just too beautiful with excess poise and class
Seing Shaffy Bello and the Agile young man..i already knew the movie will be an exception
Honestly I find it kind of disrespectful to the actual real life victims of drug piracy that y'all would try to put film piracy on the same table. You can't compare children dying to producers not making enough money because their movies got pirated. I would have been better to end this with a discussion with real life victims and/or their loved ones. Or just do a short movie about the effects of movie piracy instead. But this was a nice movie though. Good job on that.
Beautifully executed. All very good actors tbh, even the unfamiliar faces acted so well. Editi well done 👍🏽
Hats off to lead actors for ability to project through imagination their roles/characters in this movie.Absorbing, deep and challenging.
Such a good film. Love how it was made to address pirating issues in the movie industry as well. Well done.
Wow,
That's for showing the real side of things and thanks to the ending. Its said that people only target the unfortunate areas.
We remember we are ONE & we all have to answer to the most high (GOD)
School Boy acted so well
Great Story well told. I particularly love how KARMA played out, and the discussion at the end of the film; sensitising people on the effects of PIRACY without losing the CORE of the story - dangers of COUNTERFEIT DRUGS. Well done Mr Editi, the entire cast and crew
How does counterfeit drugs relate to film piracy?
wow this production was so amazing i wish this could of been a big n longer movie it was just so amazing
Ok truly this is beyond Nollywood. This is art. This is how a movie should be. Good job
Thanks for recognizing the Egun/Egoon people.
Of course!
This was so beautiful... great actors.. strong message and story line
I don't understand why so many people are saying they don't see the correlation between piracy of movies and the counterfeiting of drugs depicted in the movie. I get the message they're trying to get across clearly. Great movie!
Great short. However, about piracy. You can't count the number of people who watched pirated films, multiply that by the amount it costs to watch the film in cinema, then say that's how much you lost. No. Over 90% who watched the pirated version did so because they could not afford to go to the cinema. So in other words, you would not have made that money either way. The main issue is no investors in our film industry and no enforcement of laws against not just piracy, but most things in Nigeria.
I came here as the film ended to comment on how great it is but I am absolutely dumbfounded that anyone thought it appropriate to compare the pirating of creative content to the subject matter of the film.... The insensitivity is shocking.
I loved the movie! The ppl that were talking at the end started talking about movies when the bigger conversation is pirated medication. Other than that, Amazing movie.. it really reflects Public Health work that needs to be done in Nigeria.
Clip go sweet so.... Film taste sotay I de feel like for act part 2 already. So real!
This is one of the best short movies I have seen!!!! Welldone Anakle! This is Social Engineering at its peak! I love the cast, the picture and video quality and the story-line, a lot of people have been directly and indirectly affected by counterfeit drugs. If you live in glass house, dont throw stones. But my reservation about the movie is why is the end credit talking about pirates instead of drug counterfeiting? these are two major different issues, drug counterfeiting directly affects lives immediately. Look at the case of Late Eric Arubayi. Asides that, this is an amazing movie. If Anakle can do one on pirates, then it will be nice and I will like to feature in it.
Thank you for the feedback.
Be careful what you wish for when it comes to others..... Very true
wow I salute you ma, see story. very short with highest lessons. no doubt this what we call real film.
Relatable storyline.... people will do anything these days for money
Great production 👏
Damn. Very powerful stuff. I doubt it’s that simple in real life tho.
Corruption is a way of life in Nigeria. And realistically, nobody would be as surprised as they’re in this film.
And also realistically, a woman of her caliber would have over the counter medications from first world countries in her home especially considering her knowledge of the forgery in Nigeria.
Overall, great acting, camera quality and overall superb cinematography. Well done, Nollywood
I really enjoyed watching this and I clicked the link on a whim. Loved that it showcased a different side of Lagos rather than fancy mansions. The cast was great and the acting was on point. Great job!!! The only wahala is that the discussion at the end of the movie caused my brain to reset: plix what does Nollywood piracy have to do with counterfeit drugs? Why not have interviews geared towards the actual content of the movie? Perhaps short texts of the current situation of counterfeit drug traffic in 9ja? Showing the end credits without any discussion scenes would have been fine! What you have now detracts from an otherwise awesome movie. Una try sha...I shall recommend this to my friends.
Great Plot, The cinematography is 🔥.The cameos at the end were inessential because it gainsays what the storyline depicts. Anti-Piracy campaign should have been a topic for another day. A credit of real life victims and assailants of counterfeit drugs is much needed to complete this masterpiece.
Great movie, the movie is topnotch, Government should look into drug/medicine as most of this drug are risky to use for an individual.
Only in Nigeria do you have a tribal cartel of non pharmacists who feel entitled to handling and distributing medications that require so much training to produce and handle. NAFDAC is toothless except for the brief period late Dora Akunyili went after them and they somehow got her removed.
Weldone!!! Well said!!! I love the ideas big box
Counterfeit drugs and Karma. Major themes speaking to the ills in the society
ANY MORE AFRICAN MOVIES LIKE THIS ONE!!! BECAUSE I AM TRAUMATIZED.. INTRIGUED... SHOCKED... IDK, FEELINGS ALL OVER THE PLACE. DAMN
This is so amazing
Weldone to the cast and crew for making this masterpiece!!
Ahhhhhh etim, u are the best, u are a great actor 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Am glad I went to the comment page first..I would skip the discussion part😃😃😃
I love this, amazing cinematography, sound design and storyline!!! love it
My God is this really happening in Africa. I must say all the actors and actresses did an amazing job on this project.
Yaaaasssss!!! Moshoooood!!!
Smoking 🚬 is not good for your health but mama Dey smoke 😂
This is a sad story of most developing nations, with this pandemic we've all seen how they neglected and bankrupt health institutions
This is a wonderful film. I'm so impressed.
When u live in a glasshouse, don’t throw stones! Great film, short n precise!
Street i is incredible.... I love every scene. What goes around, the rich also cries ......Karma
This is such a good film
Nice movie, enjoyed watching but what was the end credits about? Quite discordant to the movie theme. These are two separate issues. Trying to marry them is just more confusing.
Loved it! Great job Editi and the team!
Wow karma is indeed a b•••••ch. Love Effiong and Shaffy😘
Who is here for Lanre?💖💖💖
School boy I salute 🙌
Ok I can't be the only one that was thrown off by the discussion after that movie... like ,where did that come from?😡😡.. it's not even related to the movie !!!
aythonya If you think of the bigger picture, it is.
I wish you were related to a movie Maker ,you would have understood what intellectual property meant , that the movies you buy on street Rob's this producers of their hard work
Also if you look at the bigger picture like the conmentor before me said ,you will understand that this movie is about Drug piracy.
@aythonya I see what you mean, they should have stuck to drug piracy, but I guess they wanted to speak to piracy as a broad topic. It's a menace that affects too many aspects of our lives. Pele!
corruption itself is a real disease. Let deal with that first. let's deal with the roots if ppl were not this poor they would not poison ppl for a living
I think the discussion at the end of the movie is relevant. Piracy steals and damages ones work and filmmakers have to fight against it in what ways they can. However, it shouldn't have been related to the drugs counterfeiting issue. It just undermines the whole movie. Great job though, this should win awards 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
What goes around comes around. This life no balance ooo
Wow wow this is am amazing short film.
Great film, especially acting and color editing. I have to say, I was thrown off by the last segment. Counterfeiting and Piracy do not occur independently. To address issues of counterfeiting and piracy, we need to address corruption and inequity in Africa.
Loved this...and the people who complained that the video at the end about piracy was out of place don't know what they're saying....
Shaffy Bello for best actress ooooooo
We love it!
Shaffy Bello understood the assignment!
I love the Ibibio (African) proverb at the end of the movie though not completely true (we in that area of Nigeria know a lot more about that "craft", that we are not fully telling well to the current generation). Great movie though..Daniel Etim Effiong is getting better in his expression as an actor..Kudos on the collaboration with the U.S. Mission, Nigeria
Absolutely flawless movie. Gosh!!!!!
Great movie, but the interview should be focused on drug counterfeiting and piracy, another movie
What a beautiful Friday evening treat. Well done, hommie MD.

Moshood!!! 🙌
This is a commendable work of art. Kudos to the everyone who worked tirelessly on and off this project. All the way up!!!
