The really interesting part was that the metronome clicks were for heel up rather than for foot down.

Wow, I was really focused in my footstrike today and I strained a muscle in my right ankle. Thanks for this video. I know now not to over focus on my footstrike.

Where were you all this time??? Lol. I run along with my swimming, cycling n squashing but happened to pick.up.a nagging achilles injury due to my wrong footstrike which now has made my progress almost impossible in any of my activities. I used to run on my.toes literally for kms, I live in Tanzania n were deprived of good doctors/coaches so healthy lifestyles getting ruined by an easily avoidable long term injury is a common issue down here. Thanks to people like you who are willing to share your wisdom with the world, these advices can go a long way trust me. Cheers guys n thanks for what you do.

Hello, your videos are amazing thanks!
however I feel that my left footstrike is different from my right one. And this causes me a lot of calves pain in my left leg so I guess that the left is the "wrong" footstrike. Do you know how can I fix this?
    Thanks

very often, shoes have better soles near the forefoot area. I noticed that I heel strike towards the end of a long run but I have a forefoot landing at most times. like you said, posture and position make the most difference

Has anyone ever experienced numbness between the balls of your feet and big toes from running?
What did you do to treat it? How long does it take to heal?
I think running too hard down inclines for a few days is what caused it for me. Thank you for any ideas.

I hear a lot about cadence optimization at 180. I am 6’6” 255lbs this seems like an impossible goal. Would that be different for everyone

Hey.. thanks for the video!! Can you please do an elaborate video on pronation and arch type.. I can't find the explicit comprehension of the that..

You should do a 1-on-1 gait analysis with our running Doctor Kyle Bowling if you like: therunexperience.com/injuryconsultation It would be a great way to determine your tendencies when you run.

hey thanks for the video. I have a question, what do you think about running barefoot on a treadmill? I know sounds weird. been having problems with right ankle, it doesn't hurt but after 2 miles starts to lose strenght (think of the way wrists feels when lifting and getting tired). been doing ankle strengthening exercises and still get that annoying feeling everytime I run. I've rested for like 2 months and still.

    • @TheRunExperience
      @TheRunExperience  7 років тому +2

If that helps you find your footing, then definitely give it a go. I wouldn't recommend doing it too long too often as it is a machine, and you don't have total control over it. But a couple minutes to help feel stronger and more stable is totally fine. Give this video a look too: ua-cam.com/video/VejcHFlruKo/v-deo.html

Could this be why my knees ache after every run? I mean I properly warm up an cool down after. Even though i not long started back running. Not to mention i dont have the best of running shoes either. Just making things work with what i have.
Any good advice would be nice. I will say this channel had helped my 1mile an my 1.5 an 2mile run along with my nike run club app

Cool! Yes, knee pain could be related to a number of things but it all starts at the bottom of the chain. Be sure you're keeping your IT bands and quads loose and stretched regularly as well.

God, I've been sick for six years and unable to run for about five. I was walking on crutches until last August, am extremely fatigued all the time, and am on supplemental oxygen pretty much 24/7. Last summer I decided to be stubborn and fulfil my dream of running the London marathon for charity anyway. It's on the 23rd of April; my first time back in my running shoes was the 8th of November. Quite a challenge but I've been obsessed with your videos lately and aside from them being really practical, they're providing me with that final boost of motivation I need in order to do this. Thank you SO much.

i tried so hard to do this,,,, and it kind of works for a while but then i forget....and when i ran with my dog tied around my waist....he kind of pulled my hips (out...?) in a really cool way so that EVERYTHIING in my running changed....then i realized HIP POSITION aka kind of thrust (out) makes it better!!!!!! LOL
