It’s worth looking at now rather than later. I can’t quite see prices coming down for new tractors, A trade in + finance is a solid idea. With the hurlyman being 16 years old and on 8000 hours she will start losing power quickly. 5-10 years down the line she’ll struggle to even mow and who knows what prices are going to be like at that time. It’s a well worth investment that will pay itself off for years to come. Best of luck on whatever decision Tom👌

Personally I think there is far more middle ground to be found between this new and the Hurli. I've just bought a 6 year old 115 Maximum(boosts to 145) for under £40k with less than 1800hrs. Very capable machine and a massive upgrade from Tom's current tractors and probably 50k less than this spec 150

      @gwynroberson198 Рік тому +2

@@bwarey52this looks like a much better idea than 150k on a new new machine. 100k should get a roof on the clamps and probably over the midden if you shop smart.

@@gwynroberson198 £45k tractor and £45k handler would be a massive upgrade rather than the new one but the problem is the finance at the moment with interest rates if you don't have the cash to hand. On the plus side new tractors have 0% again now as there seems to be plenty of stock available now and a tough market

I think the Hurlimann would make a great second tractor for you guys. You definitely need more horsepower given the amount of land your farming now. After all the increase in efficiency and herd size is all for nothing if you can't get the feed in to start with.

Tom, Rev. Paul,Eustis Florida. Tom as an orator myself, mind some constructive critiquing is given?? Tom, your animated personality is awesome to watch Tom, after watching you for a few years now I’ve noticed you talk over your guess by interrupting or finishing their statement or question. Everyone needs an amount of time to express themselves for the audience. That’s the only concern to give you as a young man, I’m 71 years old retired
(lol as if) preacher could retire (lol) bedridden well over a year, but God is so good to me and my family. It is been my honor to serve him for 51 years. Enjoy watching your show thank God for how He has blessed your dairy in your farming. Keep it up bro, thanks for everything.

I think the one thing you need to upgrade is the Manitou - it is the most used bit of kit apart from the mixer wagon. Love Manitou and back in the day we used a 4x4 forklift one for all our day work.

I would most definitely agree and make the point for the few days in the year when higher horsepower is needed you should plan to rent a higher horsepower tractor to meet your needs. (it also allows you to "try before you buy" a bigger tractor regardless of how it is to be paid for.)

Manitou doesnt need to be road legal which is a huge deal, like the scraper tractor, just needs backwards, forwards, up and down. On the other hand would love to see Tom in a Merlo Multifarmer, he might just be the target for one of those.....

Well you certainly couldn't hide the excitement on your face! You know what's similar to a kid in a Candy store? A farmer in a new Big Tractor haha as hard as y'all work it is warranted for it! On a personal note I hope The Ging is still doing well and that Jo is coming along nicely on a safe and healthy pregnancy with y'alls precious cargo. Will you be taking time off after the baby's born to spend some wonderful bonding time as a new dad? Stay well have a great day!!

That Case is certainly the bees knees, it would be a really positive purchase and would make life as whole lot easier. The way it pulled that muck spreader with very little effort was very good. I know it's your money, but not only would it make the farm work easier, it might also benefit you and your dad's bodies stress levels. It would be interesting to know how you both feel after driving the Case for the whole day against your current tractor. If you feel more relaxed at the end of the day, it's going to pay dividends. 👍

Muck,Farm Yard Manure(KYM), slurry is an excellent feed for your farm soil and in turn the grass. But to get the best from it you need to keep water (Rain) out.
Put a cover (Roof) over your midden, you will see the difference in the grass growth.

Great video Tom as usual. At 16 yrs old the Hullyman deserves to retire has worked well, but is at the age when parts are going to start failing costing more cash. Hi Tom. I had a 150 maxxum exactly like your demo tractor. Im sorry to say though they aren't a good tractor at all. The gear box is horrible, the power boost only works so much and it was a poor tractor for grip. My 150 got traded in and now got a claas arion 650. The claas is 185hp all the time and would leave the old 150 standing.

I never thought that the Hurliman would manage these kind of loads but it seams the power takeout will not be the same again😮. If you are going to buy a new traktor our maybe a second hand is depending on tractor hours/ year and what brand gives you the best price, service/ repairs and is fairly near your farm.I think you should try a Valtra N series if they not are to expensive for your budget. Keep on keeping on and stay safe all of you.

Nice Tommy! We have a new Holland T6 155 which is 6 cylinder and it’s mega, the extra weight works for us as has a loader on and doesn’t move. If I was you I’d have a loader on it as it gives you more options especially if breakdowns stop things. The only downside for us is she drinks a bit more fuel but you would be on top of the job big time!

Good tractor but i would probably go for a 4 cylinder tractor about 125 to 145hp. More nimble for your farm building. All you need is 40kph box, mechanical spools, front suspension with cab suspension as well. I would add a fore end loader as well for versatility. Ive just bout a Case 185 with that spec for low tech types of work that you guy do. Still plenty of power that you will need 95% of the time. You would be suprised how much time a tractor spend just pottering around.

I personally would buy a new tractor in the size up from what you think you need. Reason being is too many times I have bought something and within the year outgrown it. Also I would keep the old one for a few more years along side of the new one. You could split the workload and let the smaller tractor handle the smaller tasks which would be less stress on it and extend its life along with not adding hours and unnecessary wear on the new one. It’s the reason we still have an old case 3230 and ford 3000 around. One runs mower one runs rake and the large tractor runs the large baler. Plus the old stuff is paid for. Just a thought.

I’d go for it. Just even from an efficiency standpoint. That little 100 horse tractor is working full out all the time. Probly save on fuel having more power but working less. And just reliability too. Little thing going full bore just wears things out quicker. Also gives you the option to go to bigger equipment in the future then to tho. Little bigger mower maybe. Pull buggies better to etc.

It would be lovely if you could buy a British tractor. I just don’t understand why JCB hasn’t given you a fast track and a tele handler. I think it is important to promote Britain and British products and for me JCB couldn’t place their kit in a better showroom than your channel

Exactly! It's a worldwide viewed showcase for any manufacturer, they should be falling over themselves to get a feature spot.

Would like to see an episode where you and Dad discuss the future of all farm vehicles, the eventual introduction of electric tractors and how that might affect farming.

Merlo Multi Farmer would be an interesting demo at the farm Tom. Seems to be able to do virtually everything!

The merlo multifarm and jcb version of it are great but nothing comparible to a tractor as they don't have the weight and drive to take place of a tractor. But they are awesome machines and very versatile for smaller farms or bigger farms if all other tractors are busy

The quality improvement of the Case was immense. Definitely go for it when it makes sense. The Hurleyman is a absolutely a Workhorse, but not as smooth or powerful still it gets the job done. Also love the Red!!! Birks Farms is Pemberton Farms??? Didn't understand how the Birks name worked into things.

Fine looking tractor. Why not close the rear window and use the air con ? Would be much quieter and more comfortable.

Hi Tom, Have you got a Kubota dealer near you? They do a 140hp tractor, which for the money and warranty package is usually a good deal. A more basic tractor, but with comfort!

That Case should help the Ginger Warrior to not take as much of a beating out on the field. Seems like the perfect combination of power and size for your farm.
