I am so amazed after hearing the hearts of so many people who were connected to this bike. That's what the biking is all about.
My grandfather was having this bike. Our bike was czecklosvakia imported 1963 model. He tell us that his father purchased it at ₹3500/- . And after him my grandfather rided it 34 years and after that he sold it at ₹4200/- 😊. Our bike registration number was USX 1050. the bike was in black colour, having 6volts electrical system and dynamo charging system . It was not having CDI ignition system. The way of starting the engine of a jawa was an art - At first we have to open petrol T, then pump the pin 3 times connected with carburetor, then press the gear lever inside and it will come back side. After that we have to kick 3 times lightly to make compression inside the combustion chamber after that at 4th kick the bike gets start. The jawa 2 stroke was a legend and will be a legend.
I do this daily :) I have a 1983 Ideal Jawa Yezdi (assembled in Mysaore) and its few parts are made in Czecklosvaia like carburettor and I love the bike and everything about it.
I am 56 years old. I have driven Jawa. Great motorcycle it was. Let's see the new Jawa when it hits the Indian roads. Waiting eagerly. In our young time there were only three motorcycles in India. Royal Enfield, Jawa and Rajdoot.

My older brother had exact same model when I was a child and could not ride motorcycle. But I used to watch him repair his Jawa. I heard a lot of sound of Jawa in my childhood. It was loud and thud thud like. Once my brother decided to paint his Jawa in Red color. He disassembled Jawa in our drawing room. Painted it Red and he assembled it back in our own house. Later we had to sell it for business reasons. I still have lot of memories of Jawa. My brothers friend also had a black Jawa. After few years a new model came out "Yezdi". It had a slightly subdued sound and very smooth, powerful & deep sound. The tank was different. I remember it all like it was yesterday. I still love 2-stroke since then. I have bought two 2-stroke suzukis recently, and I am working on them.
One of them is 500 cc, was not running and in bad shape. I have found out the problem and fixed it, restored the carbs etc..it is in running condition now. It is 1975 Suzuki GT500. It has two pistons. Another 2-stroke I bought is 1972 Suzuki T350. I have replaced piston rings on it. still working on both motorcycles. Love 2-stroke motorcycles.

Wow it's amazing feeling to see jawa old model , my father was a mechanic of old motorcycles like bullet, jawa, yejdi, raajdoot etc. I always asked my father why do you love old bikes than new . I came to know this now after i lost my father in 2018 . Today i really love old bikes even I have standard bullet make 1995

It was my father's first bike. Later we had 2 yezdi bikes being total 3 bikes those days. Mainly were used for transporting milk cans. I loved this bike a lot feeling proud too.

It totally resembles the sound of the Escorts Rajdoot. My dad had one during the 1980s. These bikes are built to last forever.
Actually Rajdoot had tried to copy the Jawa sound as it was the most attractive sound in those days.

I learned to ride on a jawa. A yezdi 250 cl was my my first bike when I reached college. 6v and 12v lights hote thi. Yezdi mein. Then this was the brand young people preferred. Oldies preferred Enfield.well at around 65kph only air on your hair and a sweet sound from behind. Then came the RD 350 which made us change to it. Ads said as balanced as samurai. On Yezdi you have to pump the pedal and feel compression before the starting kick ie first time in morning. Then I think there was a model with electronic ignition.

DCV sir, my grandfather has ridden four models of Jawa bikes. 1st was Jawa of 1964, Reg no APU 2963.
2nd Yezdi B type classic of 1978,Reg no MTN 4717
3rd was Yezdi D250 Cl 1985,Reg no ABV 9577, 4th was B type 1992 model. His fav was the D250 Cl. I think you will be amazed to know our story.

One more fact of this bike is that it was the only bike where front and rear tires could be interchanged. People used to carry spare tire as it could fit both front and rear.
