Go to any RE Store and ask about 350 classic & Standard 350, now they have enough stock for delivery with in 2 days,
three months before the story was different, you have to wait 2 to 4 months
& the important thing is before RE showroom staffs behave like traditional typical Indian Govt. staffs
now they are very calm Quiet & friendly too....!!!
So the monopoly business ends due to JAWA...!!!
Thanks JAWA.
NB: Above story in KERALA
My Friend got his Thunderbird in one day. Thieves.
True feedback .....RE showroom people behave like arrogant people
Same story in Bangalore
I agree with Manu , even in Mumbai the staff as no different
yes my friend java is directly in competition that is why , before jawa no bike was there to compete with RE , dominar was intended but it was more of a sport cruiser so ... and anyway It's good for consumers if competition is going on
In 1972, Jawa waiting period in Jamshedpur was 6 months and dealer and it's staff were arrogant and possessed indifferent attitude. Along with Jawa he forced customers to fit costly extras. But when I approached Enfield India (it was known as Enfield India, not RE) showroom I got 350 c Bullet off the shelf and next day evening i got with registration. It seems after the demise of Jawa RE got same attitude what Jawa/Yezdi had in seventies! One thing is very clear that both bullet and Jawa has their own fan and enthusiastic. And both will fight arguing which one is better for a whole day but yet remain inconclusive!
Uncle ji where was the show room of jawa that time? I also form jamshedpur
Very nice explanation
What's his height? Any guesses?
I owned a Yezdi from new, from 1977 for over 11 years and did over a lakh km on it. It cost Rs. 7000, money had value then. Coimbatore to Ooty trips with my wife on pillion many times , Yercaud, Bangalore to Tirupati and back. Changed the piston and rings just once, didn't ever replace the battery as it didn't require one to start. Reliable, great bike. Have a RE Classic 500 now but still a Jawa/ Yezdi fan.
For the next review get John D'souza to ride and review, since he literally knows the nuts and bolts of the original 2 stroke Jawa/ Yezdi machines.
Great to see Jawa alive again, respect for Mahindra and shame for current owner in Czechia to be not able to do this. Greetings from Czech Republic, hope I'll be able to buy this beauty too (have three old original Jawas in my garage :) ).
Glad to hear. I hope they'll launch this there if they see success here.
presne tak je skoda ze tato legenda sa nevyraba v Cechach....
People from Mysore have a special place in heart for Yezdis. And people from Coorg and Chikamaglur have special place in heart for Mahindra Jeep...
My grandfather was the production officer in the headquarters and he had this awesome bike
Still he have this bike..?
Waiting for ages for the review👍 and finally........ ROCKED 😍
Would love to see a 6 months old jawa review before buying as it feels a bit sceptical to jump on a new bike.
I am in the same boat. Would be wiser to wait so that any initial niggles can be ironed out. Although the downside is, Mahindra will definitely increase the price by 5-8K.
It's not a new bike just introduced right... Definitely quality wise Jawa is legend back and now
Hoping it will be extremely reliable like the mojo boss
@@mohankumar-kz7fz no bro we should wait for user review then we can buy
The engine unit is modified Mahindra engine. Should not be a problem.
Just saw the test drive bike yesterday, started the engine i finalized to buy,and today i have booked a jawa 42 comet red,...waiting for my parterrrrr...love u jawa...thanks for coming back again..🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
This bike reminds me of Amol Palekar's movie "Chhoti si baat" where he buy the bike to impress the lady! :P
That was a re bike
Ok..these new bikes are a work of art which needs to driven with a mature mind..no comparison with any other bikes..no drags,no top speed,no toughness comparisons with Bullets...love it by heart..if u loved the original...else leave it..
Yes very true only few people understand that we must ride it for the feel
Well said. I wish people stop complaining all the time
Indeed 👍🏻
you make it look like Navi in size and it would probably look like that near me as well
supercharged petrolhead the rider looks small to me
Wooow, these Jawa bikes are so good to look at and also it sounds really nice. But I don't find a pillion backrest in any of these bikes which should have been offered as standard. Let's see whether Jawa would offer a list of accessories for these two legends. But if have to pick, I will pick the 42, because its more pleasing to the eye..
My Dad had Jawa and Yezdi 250 way back in 80's , time to get one for myself.....
Nice review, vibrations at higher RPM, minor issues could be ignored but hope they offer better finishing, rear disc and the bar end rear mirrors, will have to ride this and compare with competition then decide
Wow...amazing... Taking me back to th old memories of 1970's when Jawa and yezdi were the only bikes plying on the roads those days...and that loud engine sound which can heard upto 1 km distance.
For those who are comparing this bike with RE bikes remember the people (most) who buy these bikes are enthusiasts who are least bothered about the top speed torque or ABS and are more bothered about the experience. There is no such thing as a perfect bike. So just enjoy the ride.
Siddarth Joji i too hated those people who used to say that bullet was about the experience when compared with other bikes with better performance... and are now comparing the bullet with jawa over performance.... Hypocrites
Well said bro
what do you exactly mean by experience ? you blind fanboys are the reason RE has a such a monopoly over this segment and continue pushing out overpriced shit. Its 2019, nobody wants a hunk of metal with decades old technology and zero refinement. the jawa 42 looks like a step in the right directiom
Royal Enfield Monopoly Ends. Thanks to Mahindra.
Royal Enfield always have the eternal feel... No comparisons Pls.
Still RE leads..
Hi, I'm from Czech and I must say that it's impresive, actually i like these new India Jawa's. I have original 1965 Czech production one and I am a bit sad that czech Jawa died, there is not any new model or anything, just those old 350 with chinese engines. I hope that some day these new india bikes will be made back in czech licensed, same as did the old one was licensed in india :)
Thanks for writing in. I was keen to know the impression of someone from the Czech Republic. I'm sure that Czech Jawa has taken notice of these made-in-India machines - would be something if the roles would change after so many decades!
Thank you I enjoyed your video very much until now I’ve never heard of the bike I wish them luck and you thank you
I love the sound of the original Jawa and the Yezdi roadking.Lovely 2 stroke exhaust note.
Well that was a terrific Review l thank you so much it looks like a good bike thanks again cheers from Australia
Jawa, mahindra, tata and some other companies are developing and expanding soon and thats really great❤️❤️
Look at people complaining about waiting periods back in the days when jawa was originally released if you bought the bikes or scooters with USD you would get immediate delivery however if you paid with INR you would sometimes have to wait 5years in some cases, my dad would have loved to see the brand relaunched, the stories he told us how rows and rows of bikes parked in the factory and buyers could choose which bikes they wanted and how he used to get info on chassis number of bikes built with imported parts from his friend working with jawa and how easy it was to buy the bikes with usd ride it a few years and still flip it close to original price.
I love the old Jawa's. Wish I could find one here in the U.S. they are very hard to find.
Very beautifully presented segment I must say .... Kudos to you Rishaad....🙌🙌🙌👍
That’s when your old love incarnates !!!! Loved these.
I had a 250 Jawa back in 1964-65 a true East European made model. I was 14 years old and literally rode it into the ground.
This is interesting. I had an original 1974 350 twin with a Velorex sidecar.
I saw the Jawa and the Jawa 42 in the newly opened showroom in Lucknow. The first thing which came to notice is its low height. I would say that it's small yet bulky looking. It looks solid. The instrument cluster on the Jawa is difficult to view while riding , which isn't a problem in the Jawa 42. The overall fit and finish is pretty good I would say. It felt light so that's good for overall riding. I would tell all the viewers to not judge the exhaust note as heard in the review videos since its certainly more beefy and heavy with a good amount of base when you hear it in real life and it's very pleasing to the ears. Overall I liked the bike pretty much..
2:44 beautiful shot 😍
I had Rajdoot some years ago.. The same sound.. 🔊
Aside the great bikes, an excellent review...nicely done!!
Only people who have seen n experienced during 70s 80s would be able to identify the correct difference. Just love Jawa/yezdi
How can the bike of 70s and 80s be the same..
What a beautiful machine! Classic elegance.
Very sharp & clear review!
Thanks
Hi, it's cool video!
I love the way you guys present ...Autocar...best
Loved the RE Interceptor ❤️
Good job Autocar for appreciating #Mahindra 's efforts in their first attempt and also thank you for providing me another reason to go for it.
Sound of Jawa plays a prominent role and in this review I didn’t find as it matched so old one is gold one✌🏼
Autocar show they make superb story and anchors are doing good job I like they tell tru all things
Excellent review! Just waiting for Jawa to arrive in Brazil!
Sound is the best . maza aa jata hai ye sound sunke. Really love this.
Such a detailed and beautifully presented review...👍👍keep it up
Thank you!
Very detailed review, thank you, bro, this is an awesome bike. People in the age between 35 to 50 who have seen and rode the Jawa and Yezdi will never say anything whatever it may about the torque and other things. They will love to buy it. I am waiting. I can understand these are the prototypes. Hope to have crash gaud and pinion holder.
We owned a Jawa and that's great with riding and the sound is unique like Yamaha Rx 100... Jawa sounds greater in that period... But to maintain that in 4 stroke is quite tough... Anyway good to see the legend again... All the best
Now RE got some competition
Lol
😂😂
Unless they give a better service and better models compared to old models
Na.. no chance
I don't have a Jawa motocycle, but I did find a couple of Jawa open end wrenches, 8/9, 10/11mm in a second hand store for $.50. I made a holder for them and put them in my toolbox. 😄
A kid I grew up with had what I believe was titled as a 1969 Jawa 175. I saw quite a few of them, but only his had 19 inch wheels on it.
I don't know how to ride a motorcycle. I seldom miss my dad with whom I didn't have a good relationship and in his youth, he used to ride a Yezdi. I hope they bring Yezdi back and I hope I can learn to ride and pay my respects to a great man.
I'd say get the vintage beauty some are sold in South Bombay by collectors who've multiple.
The uneven sticker job in the front mudguard is triggering my OCD.
It's a good bike good effort by Mahindra but it lacks rear disc brakes & dual channel ABS at this price range anyway I'm going for RE 650 twins as it's a very great value for money
It has dual channel ABS but misses out on read disc the only limitation in this bike.
Im in love with jawa..😍😍
I owned a Jawa for 12 years
A nostalgic bond with the brand for a life time ....
The signature beat of the two stroke engine ......
The design elegance of the kick starter cum gear shifter.....
The only bike with a perfect symmetrical look, thanks to the dual exhaust silencers pumping out a symphony of beats.......
The throttle response that syncs with your heart and soul.....
O Old Jawa ...... I really miss you.......
I was only waiting for how it sounds! Watching all other nonsense comeback videos & reviews. Thanks autocar!
Greate video Zawa looking smart bike with his doubles barell gun shape....
Having owned a Yezdi 250 Classic-II, eagerly look forward to have one of these.
Today's "plastic bikes" are no match to these.
V nice review. One thing i hv to share. Rear drum brakes are good. As rear disc brakes fails on downhills, and sometimes its dangerous situation for the rider. I think thumbsup for all the features. Jawa rocks and will rock.
The launch showed golden speed dial and better looking tank cap. Do you think those will be available as accessories/mods?
Professional review! Keep it up
Hi autocar nice review... what abt the vibration levels??????
Your prospective on review is on point.
Below are some of my observations for this bike:
1. Technically looks challenging enough to sustain in market.
2. Looks get full marks.
3. Seat length is not good enough for pillion.
4. Seat is no cushioned enough for long rides.
5. Bike looks too short for people with above average height... :(
6. Would be better, if we get dual channel ABS.
7. Leg Guards: seems you will not able to attach heavy leg Guards(RE Classic type), no space for them.
I look forward to buy at least two Jawas soon. These bikes look and feel so original plus unique. All Bullets more or less are the same.
Bravo Indie ...piękny motocykl ... :)
The firing reminds of my friends Yezdi!!!
Wonder if Mahindra Philippines will stock this? It's beautiful 👍
The seat rest bracket is missing on these pre-production bikes. However on the pictures posted on the official website the seat bracket is shown!!!
Good job....very detailed reviews.......
Test ride jawa 42 and booked it on the next day waiting period is 9 months ( Goa )
RM M so u get now dude!!!🤭
Classic motorcycle with modern touch ❤
Wow was eagerly waiting for this
A good and objective review. Thank you! If you or Auocar has any way of communicating this to Classic Legends, would you tell them to add a grip at the back of the saddle too (like the old Jawa)? That would make it convenient for many of us used to those rear-of-the-saddle-grips to handle the motorcycle.
Classic Legends intends to sell plenty of accessories. Rear grab handle is supposed to be among them.
for all perspective which one is good classic 350 or jaws 42..?
A speedometer and *fuel gauge* is Good enough for me🤙🔥
Considering M42 is designed little bit modern, they can make the rear wheel also with a Disc brake :)
Jawa looks awsome. Keeps the classic look at the same time updated technology is available. Only drawbacks i noticed is it doest have a centre stand !!!!. And it would be better to have disck breaks for both front and back with abs. !!!!.
One of world heritage bike..lucky for you india biker
God damn! They are beautiful machines! I wish they had more power and a slipper clutch and tubeless tyres though! Oh and a leg guard as standard!
Jawa Classic is very comfortable for long rides as well as for city commute.. and jawa 42 is best for city commute because jawa 42 comes with a upright position handle bar...both are best .. it depends on you if you like more retro looking bike( jawa classic) or a modern looking bike(jawa 42)
you can adjust the sound by adjusting some kind of nouch inside the silencer
Very excited to buy one...
Dear Autocar please Suggest a Bike between FZ 3rd Generation & Suzuki Gixer new, Which of these two would be good and why? Please Explain.
Thank You.
Where is this review shot? Beautiful locations
Great review. Well done.
Can u suggest me where i modify my old jawa bike 19s model
Waiting for jawa Perak review...
WHich one is best to buy between classic n 42??..i booked 42 but later ride Classic so i m thinking to change to classic...i m bit confused on this..thank you
For Java 42 They could have done some redesigning for the rear section as well as they have in the front. It just looks outdated from behind !
I like RE Thunder bird 😘. I love sounds dup dup...
I took test ride of both the book. Felt, lot noise from engine and vibrations. Hope, these issues will not persists in production version.
Is this a new addition to the color in jawa classic?? Looks like a white one...
Other manufacturers make 'retro' styled bikes. But Jawa _nails_ it! Except for the disk brakes, you'd have to do a close inspection to be sure these aren't old bikes - wow!
Quick question for my brothers in India: Do you guys have to have your front registration/plate mounted across your forks and are not permitted to have it run the length of your front fender (in the classic position)? Or can you have either?
Just curious.
the proportions are perfect, a handsome bike
Is there any chance to change the silencer...like RE..???
Awesome review. 👌👌 Bro, what's your height?
Please dont forget about Polands market. We love this type of classic motorcycles. Meny of our parents had Jawas and now the second generation of people want to have the same. Give me new Jawa and take my money! :)
Do you think that changing the handlebar of 42 with Thunderbird will effect the performance of the bike...?
I really like the Thunderbird style...
