I love how V-matting has come full circle. I bought V-matting to go under my blue rubber miners moss to use with traditional riffle system (like any Keene sluice box comes with). That was about 8-10 years ago. Since then everyone moved to dream mat, VDR and anything but V-matting. I love it. Just goes to show, what's old is new again and it doesn't matter what you use, you'll catch gold. Use what makes you happy.
V matting catches a ton of flour gold when the material is classified to 20 mesh (window screen) or smaller with moderate to light water flow, angle and feed rate. Works well in a cleanup sluice.
I really love the longer format videos - they fit really well with your commentary and you honestly can give a good idea of how much effort goes into it without adding in all the boring parts. Keep it up!
That is a golden wombat hole!!! PS. Consider bringing with you three or four astroturf sheets/strips. That way you can roll up the one that is full of material (to clean up later, at home) and then immediately replace it with the next astroturf piece. Repeat
That is a very simple and effective way to improve productivity down at the creek that I suspect that Chris will employ this year for his paydirt samples. Mark from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
Wow Chris! Congratulations on finding that awesome paystreak. Also thank you for how much time and effort you put into entertaining and helping educate us
Chris Real Talk. .. The Freaking Quality on the Videos Lately is way above average! Very very good job Buddie! Me and everyone else are Truly enjoying you Sharing your adventures with us all! Thank You Good Sir!
Priceless Chris. We use the same Rock Tumbler and I have been using the same Diamond Disks on my Drill to grind and Polish Fossilized Wood and Jaspers.
Thanks for passing on your knowledge about gemstone and panning. Looks like alot of hard work which i could watch for hours🤣🤣🤣. Nice speck count in those pans. Keep up the great work and see you on the next one. Cheers mate. 👌👌👌👍👍👍👍🤜🤛
I watch your videos and have to say where I live in mid west Canada where the temperature for the last week the average temperature has been - 38 C with the wind chill. - 50 ish Say cool and quiet wining lol Great videos Thanks for sharing
I don't know how you manage to live in such cold temperatures? It just blows my mind when I try to think about doing anything normal and it is that darn cold! Mark from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
Awesome stuff mate, perrrrfect set up. Would of been up there again but for past few years my backs carked it. Watching this is the next best thing so thank you 🙏
Thanks for posting, Chris! It's fun to see all the projects and such you have going on. I particularly loved the solution you devised for the wet sanding. Perfect bit of home engineering. High banking along that pay streak looked like hell, but what a result! Looking forward to the final weight. I suck at guessing, but 3.4 g, maybe?
There is alot of "old stuff" to watch. I beleive there are only 2 of us that have watched and liked every vid chris has put out on his 2 Prospecting channels. ( if you pay close attention you may get some hints to another old channel chris had aswell)
@trevdyer173 some of us have made an effort to watch completely and like and comment on every video. I just like and appreciate the effort Chris puts in to every thing he does to share with us whatever it is he's doing. Cheers and thanks for helping moderate the fb page
@steven_ewen yer me too man. I don't really do anything except watch out for trolls when he is live (and occasionally accidentally mute someone for a few minutes when my boss is comming and I have to quickly shove my phone in my pocket 🤣)
Great seeing you venture into gems. I have budget a gem cutting setup for cabbing, using diamond wheels on bench grinders. Cost around $600 in total with 4 different wheels to go from rough forming to final polish
Nice deposit that glacial till. Very fine stuff mate, hard to pan off the black sand. I have made my own clean up sluice with V matti g, mine is about 1 meter long and 100mm wide. It does a great job. Thanks for the adventure Chris, cheers mate ❤it 😊
Try connecting a stick,a dop stick I believe, to allow more control when free hand working rocks. If you have a tile saw with a solid diamond blade, with its own water splash, rough grind the facets then move to the rubber embedded wheel to polish.
Well you are certainly keeping your fitness levels up with hauling the high banker to and from the car as well as the water pump and the rest of it I hope you did not have to walk that far. End result is amazing and looking forward to seeing the results of the second go at the tumbler. Stay safe.
Wow Chris! Very interesting, and beautiful, results! You are on to something big. I'm also shocked that you have more gold than ever in a clean up. I can't wait for the weigh in! Blessings from Alabama ❤️
Chris , go to your vet and ask them for an old fluid bag and giving set and an 18 guage needle . These make perfect drippers. you can control the flow rate too . I use them when I’m working with rocks 👌
I saw in Gadzee’s video they’re talking about doing a night sluice run while naked. I’m just going to suggest they cover themselves in black light paint and have a powerful black light on the creek.
I like it when you do the longer videos, they give a much better idea for everyone to understand just how long and how hard it is to get the gold out, thank you
Watching you for years you say you want to do more metal detecting great but metal detecting gold panning Rivers losing everybody enjoys watching what you do you are knowledgeable you teach people even though you do the same thing over and over thanks
True but I believe where Chris and Gadzee are at is a bit closer to the equator compared to the US Gulf Coast. I do know that some summer days here in Houston, you can walk from your home to your car and be drenched in sweat by the time you have the ac running.
Yeah, some paydirt jars would be nice. My son's been going through a hard time and I want to maybe distract him and maybe get him into prospecting again.
I really want to get a high banker but the gold hog river sluice with the lower profile gold hog mats work great as a recirculating sluice. Hardly any loss untill you get to 8 or 10 buckets and cleanup is 30 seconds! Blue bowl and a small pan works great for me.
Hi Chris, have u ever tried putting through some dirt out of the old dryblowing heaps, the ones that have been classified into the smaller gravels to see wat the old fellas missed, luv yr videos, thanks👍👌
How do you think we felt growing up and watching US TV specials singing about "a White Christmas" and "Sley Bells ringing" when we are sweltering in the Summer heat and sitting down to a hot Christmas Dinner? Then we have your Summer songs singing about hot weather on the "4th of July". Usually, we are busy trying to keep warm and dry at that time of the year. 😂 Mark from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
Howdy Chris,,,, Another awesome video,,, as they all are ... love your channel... That rock looks like Granite to me... ??? Keep up the great videos... ;-]
Thanks for the videos mate, i watch them all. Have you thought about doing your own branded gold pan kit? Keep up the good work i always look forward to your videos. Cant wait to get out there and start prospecting.
I saw on a recycling video a magnetic (polarized?) field that ejected non-ferrous metal from a conveyor stream, what are your thoughts as to rejecting tin from say a sluicebox? I understand that a magnetic field is used for capturing rust, but this was kicking out the aluminum drink cans from the steel ones it was funky.
Best advice for Nat Geo tumbler: only use speed 1. Speed 3 just sends everything to the sides and reduces rock-rock impacts and therefore makes progress slower (counter intuitively)
Have you ever tried taking multiple sets of sluice moss with you mate? You could put the astro mats in a few buckets so you don't lose anything? I don't know how far you have to trek out so might not be feasible lol. Just a thought 🤔. Awsome vid as always mate 🤘🏻👍🏻🍀
I know about boar ants, but if you have any seed harvester ants they pile gems outside their nest. Do a study on your local ants and use them to prospect. One of my favorite geologist Dan Hausel found 13,000 carets in one ant pile. Some of them beautiful facets
Your videos are perfect. Music, camera angle, buddy…..all is spotless. Thanks for your hard work.

I love my gold hog... Then again I'm running pretty much straight sand with 90% flour gold...

Love it how you went all out with high banker.(Parker) 😜 the slow mow shots are cool Thanks 🙏
Thanks 👍It was a ton of work!
It is definitely appreciated!
Black and gold looks good!!
Sweet man I was watching old stuff. This popped up! Thank you!💢💯

The art of discovery...blessings
I’ve found unless the vee mat is a very tight fit the gold works itself to the side and then escapes down the side of the box.

“Sign me up!!!” Buahahahaha I nearly spit my Coca Cola out. Damn good episode and some really great shots too. 2024 is already looking good.
If you put a rubbery pad underneath and a bucket on top of the Rock Tumbler they become much more quiet.
WOW that is a Awesome Find Chris Gratz and that Golden Smile 😁in the pan that's so Cool 👍🏻X💯😎 , may you have many more finds like this 😁. SKK.
Heck yeah! Love it when a fella's hard work pays off!

Great start to 2024 Chris and a good mix of gold and gems, which was very interesting!

Dop stick, and yes definitely useful

31C and 80% humidity. That's a typical summer day here on the US Gulf Coast. Drink some water.

my highbanker, a g2 concentrator, takes about a minute to do a cleanup, if i take my time :)
nice cleanup
That's a sweet as smile of shiny!
I do love your video it helps so much for a new prospecter

You could put some fine wet and dry paper to get a polish may be worth a try.
makes me want to move to Australia on go high banking with you looks like a lot of fun
You should make a wheelbarrow set up for the large high banker.
Good stuff that white stuff is
You should cut the agates in half to show the bands!!
That blue stone you mentioned was Lapis, it looks more like Sodalite. I didn't see any pyrite in that specimen
Gotta love good ground
That tick could be a meteorite when we pick fields for stones we come across rocks like that all the time
