- I'm selecting three trees for our bonsai show, for their unconventional bonsai pots and stands. 3d printed pots make their show debut!
Today in the bonsai zone, I work on a Ginseng Ficus, a small Jade and a dwarf Schefflera bonsai.
UA-cam needs more people who are passionate about their hobbies, good cinematographers and dedicated to uploading consistently quality content, because you make it look easy. Love your videos!
Nigel, Beautiful statement regarding accessible plants. We are all strengthened by hands-on experience. You walk peacefully with us, through these foundational steps. As well, you clear- mindedly teach advanced skills, which makes you a worthy resource. Greetings from British Columbia.
Your 3D printing pots look great! It keeps amazing me every time I see them.
Thank you for all of your great videos! I have done bonsai for about a year now and your video's have helped me a lot. 👏
Thank you John, good to hear, happy growing!
For a long time i have admired bonsais but never owned one,but looking at your vids you have enthuse me and I have started to collecting seedlings.I feel that I am off to a good start as I have learnt so much from you (you are very generous with your knowledge)so if mine turns out half as good as yours I will be very happy.....keep up the good work.......thanks again
You inspired me to take up bonsai about a year ago with some great success to date. I've had to modify some of your techniques for our hot dry environment in Australia and now I'm having a go at Australian Natives. Really envious of your cold wet weather.
Looking forward to more videos.
So far I am only starting a bunch of fig babies for my future Bonsai hobby, Thanks for lots of smooth videos to inspire us.
It's fun to watch them grow into nice trees, all the best!
Very nice work! I'm hoping you can post a video showing how to grow moss. It is one of the most amazing moss I have seen.
Nigel, I'd also love to learn more about the moss! I have loads of moss growing on the trees around me here in Kitsilano in Vancouver, but I haven't had the best luck in transplanting it. Thank you for these videos!
Your Schefflera looks awesome one of my favorite trees in your collection.
My Hoya carnosa bonsai trees are grow fast and putting on some trunk thickness. I will send you some pictures when they are coming indoors for the winter, probably early October, as always your work is fascinating, especially how you can change the look of a landscape with the same trees in it.
Greetings Sirkov
I like your work. It's amazing. I planted my first bonsai tree today.
Thank you, happy growing Indra!
Indra Khadka
Awesome! Welcome to the club!
Truly Indra, his work and displays are very nice...
The Ginseng ficus is looking good. Glad that you trimmed the moss per your liking, but I really liked it better prior to trimming. The Jade tree is looking great. I can see myself doing a bonsai similar to yours. The dwarf Schefflera is looking good as well. So pleased that you include some trees like these when you go to a show. It does help others get inspired to adopt this hobby by seeing what they can readily achieve. Thanks for your interesting and informative videos.
This guy is amazing love watching your videos Nigel you really inspire me to grow bonsai..
Thank you, happy growing!
@@TheBonsaiZone I will keep on watching and learning please keep the videos coming I love them ..😁🌳
@@TheBonsaiZone good luck with the show ..
The displays really look great...Thanks...
Very encouraging. I started my first schfflera bonsai after seeing your videos. Now I have a few others started from seed , they don't look anything like bonsais but I guess someday they will.
A video every day ,Loving it ,trees looks awesome (y)
Wow, I'm not sure how I missed this video....❤❤❤

Have agreat time at the Bonsai Show-- the Bonsai Zone will be awesome.🐝💞🐝🐝
Hope you have a great time with your trees at the show😊
I would love to get my hands on some 3d printed pots like those. They look amazing especially once you paint them
Hey Nigel
Love your videos, could you do one on cuttings and how to nurse them?
consistent uploads are godsend
You are very close to 100K ! Good job man , I've been watching you for 2 years
For the people. You are a good man. 29°C! We have a high of 11°C where I'm working today. Trade you anytime! Good job Sir!
We hit 34 C or 93 F yesterday! Not only was it hot, but really humid too, the plants love it, me, not so much!
@@TheBonsaiZone oh my! I love the heat. I have my long johns on today, we got up to 14°C where I'm working. But it was sunny all day! Trees are changing colours for fall now. The odd yellow poplar tree here and there... Yuck. Haha!
Can't wait to see you repotting some of them in fall (if you ever do at all)...
These trees look great too. You do great work.
You should get a Dawn redwood! I just got one that's about tree feet tall and it would be nice to work on mine with your help.
just awesome i really like your work
Nigels displays are very nice specially 3D printed pots
It looks like you’re putting a lot of work in to your show trees, plus all the videos, and editing must keep you very busy. It all seems so fulfilling. I assume you will be at the club show? I plan on visiting and it would be so cool to say hello. 👍🏻🌳
I'll be there, it will be nice to meet you! I wonder what MrMgriz will look like? I'm very curious now!
Can I make a request/suggestion? When you load up the car or whatever to transport the trees to the show, could you show us how you do that? I just can't imagine how you pull that off! Thanks!
Yes please do Nigel
Eagerly waiting for your lemon tree update... 😊
Do a full tour of all the bonsais
Hey, how's it going nigel? Great video, stunning trees their beautiful.
Such lush green moss.. 😍
I am not able to grow moss like that 😟
It's 29 degrees and hot ? That's winter temperature 😓 for us here..
Hi Nigel, nice video specially motivation style 👍for beginners like me ... I am from the place where temperature is around 42-48 C, After seeing your Portulacaria Afra forest got really inspired and planing to get one and try it out ... any similar suggestions please...
Could you do a video on how to grow and care for moss? Mine always seems to struggle and never takes root in my bonsai soil.
Nigel, please do a video on how you create all that MOSS. It doesn't make sense. You have trees that require full sun but moss requires full shade. What am I doing wrong. I've been asking you for over a year now. Other people would like to know as well.
The moss is like a carpet the coulor pops 👍
I second the moss video. your moss is crazy thick .
I'll try and get a moss video out!
Hello Nigel! Love your channel! I was wondering if you have a website or a link so i can buy your disgned 3D bonsai pots. As well as your different tools and soils. As i live in a small (15k persons) county in Colorado it is hard to these types of items.
I wonder how you keep the roots on that jade from rotting. To grow moss like that, you need way more water than the plant likes.
The Jade is kept in the greenhouse, I mist the moss a couple of times a day and this keeps the moss growing really well. The soil remains very dry underneath so the Jade stays happy also!
Do you ever calculated the proportion between a real tree and an animal? I mean do you try to keep the proportion when you put an animal in your penjing compositions? (Like leopard with jade plant and elephants in your diorama composition)
Great trees, as always!
I just bought a cedar tree from a gardening store to use as my first "bonsai-ready" tree. I've done all the root work, but the foliage is so "full-sized", I'm not sure how to style it.. Any way to make the "leaves" grow in smaller? Thanks!
Yes the leaves will reduce with time, they should grow in a little finer each year.
Nigel Saunders, The Bonsai Zone Thank you for your reply!
Hello Nigel, Can you tell me where is the video where you perform the root "surgery"on this ginseng ficus? I can't find it. I would like to try myself.
Thank you
👌👌👌...!!!
Hello Nigel,
which 3d printer do you use?
Many regards from Germany :)
Love
How you helping your Moss to grow so nice and big ?
I water it at least twice a day and mist it 3 to 4 times in the afternoon. I have fertilizer mixed in with my water also, this helps keep it green!
The hair is free!
How do you grow those "bushes" and what kind of seed do you use.
The green at the bases of the trees is regular moss. With good care it will grow into a thick clump!
you think 29C is hot? in my place its always 32 or 33 in a normal day no wonder I couldn't grow moss that fast.
did someone say deep fried bonsai ^^
Id like to see you grow cannabis
I wouldn't have any room, I'll have to stick to trees!
first???
Jesus got this one!
