This just a misconception, I would say is due to not identifying the “intent”. It’s clear to me these two singers were trying to replicate the sarcasm & softness of two legendary singers master piece. And enjoyed their performances a lot. ‘A thing of beauty is joy forever’. But one has to attain that state of intellect to enjoy it. My 110 % appreciation to these two ladies who tried just not resemble the magic of Jugalbandi of original but gave me the opportunity to enjoy the use of latest musical instruments as well. And those who say old one was good this is not, it’s their own perception I respect that, But I wanted them to also Identify & develop critical thinking so that they would enjoy life not just this song

This song is famous for two reasons .
1.Versatile and uniqueness rendition of Shamshad Ji .
2.A nectar dipped voice of Lataji which is rare in qawwali .This combo is evergreen . In this Orchestra Shamshad Ji could have more more better .. I heard only Noice .
Yes.. its really shameful that a mimicry of such a great singer was made by Kavita Deshpande. Shamshad had the most CLEAR rendition of words and pronunciation better than any indo-pak singer if you allow me to say.

I dont know why people are criticising kavita for copying Shamshad Begum's voice ..I find the effort extremely good because its hard to sing in that nasal tone ..means shamshad begum's voice was so unique . And also personally I love it when singers cover the song as original as possible .
All in all I loved this video . Both ladies sang excellently ..especially kavita ji..all her sur went perfectly..keep up .
