I'm just going to say it as a white South African. As much as I understand why people hate the ANC, I would personally have them over the DA. I hate those guys with a passion, and they are no different than Hillary Clinton. They have the exact same policies and I absolutely hate each and every single one of them with a passion. The ANC, believe it or not, stands for phenomenal policies that I 100% agree with politically. The biggest problem with them however, is the corruption and robbery of money that is supposed to be invested into these said policies that their party stands for. I'm seriously not joking about this. I think what the ANC stands for is phenomenal. I wish they weren't so corrupt otherwise I believe we would have a completely different viewpoint about them. I would definitely vote for them if they managed to keep their end of the bargain. Hate me all you want, but I'm just stating my opinion. I hate politics in general, especially European ones where I came from. I've seen what they did, and looking at what the DA stands for.... that's probably the biggest reason why I ran away from Europe in the first place. Don't want the infectious far-leftist liberal movement to spread any further outside 1st world countries. Keep them there thank you, it's destroying them left and right.

I find this very absurd Universities should have been the top priority. There's 150+ students in one lecture session... How on earth should Universities continue as normal.... There are some Lecture sessions that has 600 students at once in an Auditorium ... This is madness...should One student be infected 1000's of students are at risk!
University does not even have handsoap or toiletpaper... How are 1000's of students going to wash their hands regularly without soap... Who is going to refill the soap continuously if thousands of students are going to wash their hands... The gates🤦♀️🙆♀️Handles, seats, bathrooms, libraries, computer labs, examination rooms, food court, ATMs, shops, everything/everywhere on Campus!! COVID 19 can spread like a wild fire at Universities. Our immune systems are weak becoz we are under pressure, we don't eat properly, we stress,we don't get much sleep, we are in contact with more than 200 students a day... OmS....there's 700 students from different Faculties writing in one examination room at the same time.. How are we safe? PRESIDENT HOW ARE WE SAFE? HOW CAN YOU STILL DECIDE ABOUT US?! WE SHOULD'VE BEEN PRIORITY
@@helenvanzyl9928 age group is not an excuse, there are 50 year old people who tested positive they are also capable of looking after themselves and protecting themselves.. There is no age exclusion and when it comes to the virus..again if one student is ignorant, if one student touches or come into contact with an infected person literally half the University will have the virus... We are forced to work and be around people and not everyone will be able to protect themselves successfully... It would be another story if you have family or children in University and they contract the virus from another student that was unaware that they had it.
Christiaan wait until more than 12 million people catch the virus in this county. Experts say that in America, more than 140 million will contract the virus. And if it continues with its current rate of mortality, that’s more than 1.5 million dead in AMERICA ALONE.
The Hillcrest doctor who treated the first patient in South Africa said " its quite irritating making such a fuss about this.... it like a cold you get a running nose." Why is no one consulting her she could save the country millions if we listen to her. We will just have a lot of people with cold like symptoms. or maybe she said that to protect her practice not caring much for who gets it , testing costs are R1400.00. Personally I think it was totally irresponsible for a medical professional to make such a statement on a national news channel.
Good speech, cool, calm and informative. Unfortunately the travel bans are too late, we already have increasing cases of infection. I can't help but wonder how different things would be if these measures had been implemented in Feb.
Very interesting. We can only hope that the information is correct and if so it would be to the world's benefit if they can actually give a full breakdown of how they're reducing the number of new infections.
Public hospitals in South Africa have been plundered bare. Even the normal run of patients receive minimal health care and medical supervision in public hospitals. For example, a patient of Steve Biko hospital who had recently suffered a stroke, lay on a bed of which the mattress was covered only with a dirty, threadbare sheet. There were no other bed coverings. He was clad in torn, threadbare pajama pants and he almost never saw a nurse or a doctor. He was essentially on his own. A catheter installed days previously, was leaking and his pants and the bed was soiled with urine. The rest of the ward he was in, was also filthy. No nursing staff were anywhere in sight. There obviously was no sense of hygiene. Other public hospitals, such as in Atteridgeville and Mamelodi are said to be in an even worse state. The culture in South Africa of plundering and looting public assets lies at the root of this sorry state of affairs. These hospitals are patently unable to deal with the pending corona epidemic. Deaths in South Africa due to the corona virus will probably exceed one million. The day of reckoning for the unabated looting and plundering over more than two decades has finally arrived in a most horrendous way.
Yes .. I'm praying for people in townships .. hygiene .. water .. electricity .. toilets .. transport .. they are the worst off .. because no promises fulfilled to them .. I'm not worried about the rich and the ignorant and the ungodly people

We must sneeze into tissues or bended elbows but if we sneeze into bended elbows and greet someone with elbow, that will be a disaster 😳🙄
Petro Strydom or, ya know, use common sense and don’t make physical contact at all.
The point is to prevent transferring germs to your face with your hands. We touch our faces more with our hands than with our elbows.
@@Blue_diamond011 the point I'm trying to make is. He said cough and sneeze in your elbow AND greet with your elbow.....if you cough and sneeze your elbow full of germs then it will be a disaster to greet with it too......

Long live South Africa and its People
Rape, Aids, poverty, violent crime...Has everyone forgotten?
The present spoke well👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you president for all your doing for us all. God will protect us all thank you.

Nah he would just shower the infected

Please advise can we go to work tomorrow
Yes! Go to work with enthusiasm, but keep all the hygiene rules & safety tips foremost in your mind.
Yes. Protect yourself and your family by wearing a mask. Set an exsample.
@@helenvanzyl9928 the mask doesn't protect you, the virus isn't air borne
@@vicmanvalfre96 it helps you to keep your hands out of your mouth and nose (mucus membranes). Also helps with droplet infection.
@@helenvanzyl9928 True but hospitals will soon need those masks, encouraging people to completely finish the available supply will cause more harm than good.
God bless you my honerable Mr President. You are the best. Thank you.
Students can understand how to protect themselves. Their age group is not at risk of getting seriously ill. They have exams.
53:00 measures will be announced after consultations with tertiary education institutions.

I’m more worried about walking the streets in SA, than a virus.
Christiaan wait until more than 12 million people catch the virus in this county. Experts say that in America, more than 140 million will contract the virus. And if it continues with its current rate of mortality, that’s more than 1.5 million dead in AMERICA ALONE.
All girls walking the streets should be afraid of viruses.
You can say that again, and less deadly than a taxi
Why worry taxis kill more everyday
We're all in this together guys, despite our snotty politics. This is one time we could try pull together, otherwise we going down together still.
Kenya stop rental payments to landlords, what about South African tenants?
Thank you
The Hillcrest doctor who treated the first patient in South Africa said " its quite irritating making such a fuss about this.... it like a cold you get a running nose." Why is no one consulting her she could save the country millions if we listen to her.

I can't help but wonder how different things would be if these measures had been implemented in Feb.
interestingly, in a Chinese population of 1 billion, there are only 13 new cases yesterday, all originated from outside the country
Very interesting. We can only hope that the information is correct and if so it would be to the world's benefit if they can actually give a full breakdown of how they're reducing the number of new infections.
Good job Cyril... Better reaction than most of the 1st world nations
What about health care workers? All travel should be banned.
" Comrade President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa”
