Hey! I appreciate that man. That what I’m going to because I got sick of people just saying how much they gross without how much it cost them. But imma keep on grinding it and hope i can say hot shot trucking is worth it. But right now it’s tough.
Run your straps inside the rub rail. Its called a rub rail because it is supposed to protect the straps/tie downs incase of a rub. All tie downs are supposed to be inside the rub rail. The hook should go inside the rub rail and hook into the frame rail.
I use my own truck and trailor but some one else's mc. They get 13% cut. My set up is a ram 2500 and a gator made 35+5 mega ramp 16k trailor with a combined qvwr of exactly 26k. I can haul up to 9,400 lbs and not be over weight. I want my own mc but have no idea on getting a load process. Anxious to see ur vid on that. Keep it up brotha. Glad ur back
My MC just went active about 2 weeks ago, unfortunately my trailer won't be in for another few weeks. Until then I've been putting in some bit on Shiply and Uship for stuff I can fit in the bed of my truck. I like the idea of filling out the carrier packets a head of time, I think I'll do that. As for that signal, maybe straps pulling directly to the front and rear would have helped stabilize a bit more. You got it there safely though and that's the key.
Ya that’s what I was thinking. And what people have been saying. I was just nervous to put to much weight on those wood supports but ya we got it there safe and sound thank god. Hope you get your trailer fixed! Spend the money and get on the boards as fast as possible the insurance expenses are nipping at our heels!! Hope to see you out there
Get some Load Levers used for Step Deck Trailers and use them as movable bulkheads then, use them to prevent the loads from sliding fwd. they drop into your stake bed pockets. $$$
From the time you started operating under your own authority in your first 90 days to 6 months were you getting loads and making some good money? I asked because I've been watching all of his videos from the beginning and working under someone else's authority he was making some pretty good money and now in this video he claims that working under somebody's authority you won't make any money at all so I'm just a little confused
Take 2 small straps and weave, on a 45 angle. The back and front and so it WON'T MOVE (DANCE) AT ALL. YOU WANT NOTHING DANCING on the trailer. Get small straps for back up.
💪🏽💪🏽 good shi* the forward and back movements could have been dampened by putting straps or chains like you would strap a car, straps in my opinion would be best for that because the wood supports looked fragile.
Ya I thought about that. And ya it probably would have helped. I was just worried that I didn’t put to much pressure on the wood supports. I drove very carefully I’ll tell you that lol
A ratchet strap in the centerline front and rear would have helped stop any front/back motion. There is no such thing as using too many tie down straps.
I'm about to start doing hot shotting trucking. I have a question about insurance. I know I need commercial liability and cargo insurance. But do I also gotta have a general Insurance with my personal insurance?
Hey Antonio, so this is a non Cdl set up and the perfect trailer you need because you have a truck like mine. If you get a tandum wheel/ dual wheel trailer you will be able to carry less because you trailer GVWR is more. And as a CDL you can only carry 10 k lbs with your set up and my set up.
Once MC number is active can I lease on to someone while the time builds up for my Mc ? Or do I need to actively be transporting loads under my Mc ? Is that something they can see or is it just the time I had my Mc is what they see ?
Forgive my skepticism but I've been watching all your videos from the start and in this video you are explaining that leasing under someone's MC you won't make any money at all... Yet in your first few videos you were showing us how you were making some pretty decent money leasing under somebody's MC would you please explain
You know I have been thinking about that for a couple days now ever since I saw you asked. So in my experience doing that is that some Will let you fill out the packet but if they only take people with 1 year experience and your 2 months in, they don’t want to waste time documenting you info because statistically new carriers won’t make it a year.
I find it comical how you removed your window tint to get "serious" yet constantly have a cell phone in your hand while driving to film.... lol priorites. glad to see you are growing, keep it up.
Ya I’m practicing not filming while driving anymore. Not smart. Maybe here or there at a red light but that’s it. And the window tint left this sticky residue on my window, it’s taking for ever to take it off. Idk if that was the right way to get it off lol
“0000” ultra fine steel wool pad (won’t scratch windows/glass. Use it on my hellcat!). Or if you have Wd-40.. it’ll remove the residue. Then just be sure to clean the oil from wd-40 with whatever window cleaner or dish soap 👍
I'm very close to getting my own truck and trailer and all info you can give to a brand new person getting into this will be appreciated...so far I'm taking notes of what your saying along with watching and researching as much as I can....what length of trailer is a good starting point also
I like your content because it’s raw no fake daily pick ups or deliveries, clean break down on earnings and expenses, keep grinding man.

I’ve been debating on getting into hot shot for years. I don’t know why but it’s appealing to me. Thanks for your content

Your right! That’s a good idea. Thanks for looking out I’ll mention that next time I’m strapping something down
Your right its a good practice. But The FMCSA changed the laws where its no longer required.
What is an MC#? I'm looking into hot shot for when I get out of the military. Trying to get it started up soon. Great content man I'm loving it.
I booked more loads when I got the pro edition of Truckstop. You get the loads before everyone else. It is worth the extra money.
Good to know! I wondered about that. If it was worth the extra money
Was you a new Mc?

Congratulations man, wish you the best of luck.
Thanks 🙏. We shall see. I definitely need to get my CDL
Just found your channel. Congrats on your new MC number !
Thanks man it’s a bitch out here with no cdl but I’m working on it
Good luck!!! I opened my Mc 6 months ago.

YOU WANT NOTHING DANCING on the trailer. Get small straps for back up.
Need a video on which brokers can work with new authority
Congrats for your MC. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
Your welcome and thank you. It hasn’t been easy
I took out my passenger front and passenger rear seat. A camping cot fits

Bro, how did you manage the eld while you using your truck to go home and use for anything personal?
A ratchet strap in the centerline front and rear would have helped stop any front/back motion. There is no such thing as using too many tie down straps.
Haha nope I agree with that no such thing. If I had my framing nailer with me I would have build it into my trailer lol
Been thinking about getting into it myself
I'm about to start doing hot shotting trucking. I have a question about insurance. I know I need commercial liability and cargo insurance. But do I also gotta have a general Insurance with my personal insurance?
How do I get signed on with you for delivering generators for the hurricanes
You always twist those strap 1/2 turn never leave it strait.
What kind of trailer do you run sir? I’m so wanting to hotshot with my F250. Also is that a CDL setup? Thanks
You need a 14gn 28 +5 with mega ramps. And you can get one new for 14,700$

How much is the monthly insurance cost
Is it better to have mega ramps on trailer?
Do I have to have hazmat to haul cars ??
Do you need a llc or a dba to be able to get a Mc and dot number?
Forgive my skepticism but I've been watching all your videos from the start and in this video you are explaining that leasing under someone's MC you won't make any money at all... How do I get ahold of a broker....and where to get insurance for trailer.... please help
I thought you needed a dually truck for hotshot and a 6.7
Can you fill out carrier packets with out actually booking a load?
You're only gonna need carrier packets when you are booking loads with new companies for the first time. After that you're on file with them.
You know I have been thinking about that for a couple days now ever since I saw you asked. So in my experience doing that is that some Will let you fill out the packet but if they only take people with 1 year experience and your 2 months in, they don’t want to waste time documenting you info because statistically new carriers won’t make it a year.
@@Babylionhotshot oh ok I see, thanks bro
So it’s hard to get loads if your MC is less than 3 or 6 months old? Or you just can’t get any loads at all?
Less than 3-6 months old. After that I think it will be much easier
I find it comical how you removed your window tint to get "serious" yet constantly have a cell phone in your hand while driving to film.... lol priorites. glad to see you are growing, keep it up.

@@Babylionhotshot keep it up man my first 90 days with my authority was hell! I would constantly get loads out but nothing back was so frustrating

You should have left your tint on. A lot of drivers have tint.
Wasn’t going to risk it. It’s too easy for DOT to give out a ticket for that
A lot of drivers are running illegally too
@@jamesnelson5700 it’s not illegal unless it’s limo tint.
@@TheIncredibleHoosier might wanna check that again homie….
@@jamesnelson5700 my buddy has tint on his windows for the last 2 years doing hotshot. Never got a ticket. Homie.
