- So I just bought a used vehicle for my step-son, and the roof was leaking on it somewhere. So we decided to try Flex Seal to seal the roof up and stop the leak.
This video is showing us applying the Flex Seal to the roof. It is suppose to cure for 24-48 hours. We are going to give it about 24 hours to cure and see where it stands after that.

Instead of the criticism why not think this man for his heroic sacrifice. The black paint help me see the cracks being felt. The fact that he ruin his car in yall opinion doesn't matter as long as he dont have to step in a pool when he gets in his car.
Well the bad thing is they sell that same can in clear!!! It did NOT have to be done in black and he should of taped off the windows and opened the doors instead of spraying them shut. I mean some criticism is really what he was asking for. If he would of taken a half a min to think a plan thru, it would of probably went a little better. Teenagers are vicious. He may not even drive it cause his friends and people at school can be SO cruel!!! Just seemed like there was no care in this at all!!!! Your right it MAY not leak now but since he had zero clue what was leaking in the first place or where. it probably does! And it looks ridiculous with the black EVERYWHERE,! Poor kid!

Thank you, this video was meant to be an experiment to see if it would work. Obviously we didn't let him drive this very long. Yes I would not recommend doing and fixing it properly

Should tape it off first to make it neat and clean. Should also wash and dry the area first.

I died laughing so hard. Because my first thought was a clogged A/C drain. I grandfathered my 2003 Altima to my 20 year old son as a first car. I was the only owner and know the history so I felt it was a safe first used car. It was sorted stored for six years (his older sister can’t drive so it sat there but we rolled it out regularly and even got a new battery.) but I put new tires . Cleaned engine .and cleaned the a/c drain and changed cabin filter myself. Also ordered new door handles and my partner changed those ...I feel like this dad could’ve tried a lol harder ..smh

It's most likely leaking from the sunroof lmfao. Probably a clogged drain hole. I'll never buy another car with the sunroof because of this issue

drainage hose clogged within the sunroof
also when using a sealant do so by layers allow it to dry 24 hrs in between layers

Should have pulled the wiper cowl and sealed the air inlet..and blew out the sunroof drain lines that run through the a pillars pull the kick panels and trim to make sure the drain lines are still connected all the way down

We got rid of the car before I did an update video. This while thing was in a way a joke as well. He only drove this vehicle for maybe 2 weeks
I think I would of went the Joke route too at this point 😂 as much back lash as you got. Thank God he got another car. Hopefully someone else can help with his repairs SMH 🤦

GEEEEZ you can clearly see the gap along the roof. Any tube of clear caulking applied and then run your finger along it to press it down would have worked without ruining the looks of the car. Also ...did you look under the RUG where it was wet. Could be a big rust hole.

That car has a rubber diverter to keep water from going into the airbox passenger side under the windshield cowl they are off on every one of those cars

How to flex seal a $1000 dollar car; swap it/junk it/sell it....take proceeds and purchase new $1000 dollar car, only after verifying that said replacement car does not have a roof leak.
This was a good way to teach him to take care of things and not do things like this. He was given option of fixing it but didn't want to pay for it so I fixed it the cheapest way I could. Plus we did sell it to a friend for $600 after a few months

Yes it did seal the sunroof up all the way. Wasn't sure where leak was so just did it all to cover all basis. It worked, no more leaks. Could have been an easy fix as well. But will never know now, lol.

So why didn't you just replace a $10 sunroof gasket from auto u pull it instead of using a $20 can of flex seal and destroying that poor child's paint job?
