Capris look fine on most people. They are much more cooler than long pants and on many look better than shorts.
Regarding capris ... Some of us live in areas where summer temps are 100* and up. Rolled up jeans are still HOT. I'm gonna wear well fitting capris made with lighter fabric. I'm 64 and some things I'm just gonna do it my way 🤗
I’m 74 and wondering when I should stop trying not to look old! That being said, I have changed my look on the advice of some stylist I watch on YouTUBE. I CHANGED WHAT HELPED ME LOOK BETER WITHIN MY OWN PERIMETERS.
Yep, I like them, they look classier than shorts, and folded up jeans... but she does say 'you do you', so we will!! 😂👍👍😊
Same! At 66, I put comfort over style yet can still pull off capris without looking frumpy.
I sure can’t do the high heels anymore
It's interesting that this seems to be her opinion because thumbing through many fashion articles capris are actually making a comeback. (Although I didn't know when they went out) I think it really depends on the style of the Capri. . I really find her idea of cuffing up jeans to be more out of touch and more out of style and more aging than the right look with the Capri
I live in Phoenix and deal with 110 degree weather all summer. Cuffed heavy jeans are an absolute no go. Skirts are the best option for hiding things.
Linen pants
I, myself like capris in warmer weather, certainly not heavy jeans!
not giving up my capris love them
I know capris are a no no, but I like them so I keep wearing them.
Me too. Dont want to wear shorts anymore. So capris are staying. Dont want to fold up my pant bottoms. How annoying
@@SCsweettea 💯
They're cooler for those of us who don't wear shorts! 🥵😁
@@SWIdaho2 Thats my feeling too. I live iin the real world. Not the influencer fantasy world.
Same here 😂😂
I'm old enough to remember when capris were known as Pedal Pushers. Midwest, mid-century. Thanks for the tips!
Lol😂😂😂
I am 70 and I really try to be cognizant of style in the more classic sense. I agree with all your dumpy outfits. I notice that many people as they age get in a time warp! No!No!No! Stay fresh, keep yourself informed and current. It takes more knowledge than money to be stylish.
Beauty is a gift of nature, style is an effort of the mind.
Capris are always in style in Florida
My kids won’t let me - say they make me look ‘old lady’👵🏼.
@@davisholman8149 not up to them.
same here in California!
@@davisholman8149 I think it depends on the fit (style)
I love comfort . I'm sure some days I look frumpy and others I look stylish . It all depends on pain , but my values are on living simply and loving
Thank you for this comment. When in pain I must wear loose fitting clothes. Not look I want but, pain trumps style.
Chronic pain changes everyting!
I think it's better to get out and about than have to spend a lot of time getting ready.
Exactly! I suffer chronic pain too . Nothing tight please 😩
I think a lot of people are depressed. If anyone can get through to them, it's you. You make me smile!
Love the cat filing his nails! I agree with your frumpy items. Even my 94 year old mom doesn’t wear Velcro shoes.
Well, goody for her. Walking bent over and almost limping because of bad feet isn't exactly a youthful look. I do the rest of me as stylishly as possible and I don't worry about my velcro shoes when I have to walk a couple of kilometers just to get where I'm going because I don't drive. One way to minimize the look is never wear trousers. I always wear skirts/dresses in a variety of lengths. Trousers will draw the eye to your feet, that's just how it is and the last part of me I want anyone to notice. I have some very cute red sandals that close with velcro. It's barely noticable and the style of the sandal itself flatters my miserable feet.
Honey, I also have god-awful feet and don't drive. I know what you mean. No one who isn’t in our condition will ever understand. They will (and do) simply hide their mouths
behind their hands and ignorantly rake us over the coals. It sounds like you are thinking everything over and have come up with an excellent look for people like us. Thanks for providing intelligent suggestions to us.
@@tinalettieriyou're Wonderful! Great that you're walking so much (how do you described) I'm in constant pain (even with my medication) and it's hard for me to walk. And if I don't have to.. I don't.
I am puzzled why so many people comment something like "Wear what you want." That is an obvious choice. This person is addressing those who WANT to discover another person's approach to dressing with some flair over age 50. Choosing to dress with some flair does not necessarily indicate a lack of self confidence. Why must we attack each other's choices?
What I wonder is why women who do not care looking frumpy, who say « I wear whatever I want and I don’t care » watch this kind of videos ?
@@solangelauthier2381 - @cameronparham5067 - Not everyone fits into an easy or simple category. Sometimes it's that they want to pick up a few tips & get a sense of what's generally considered "in" or "out" but they're saying also that they will still wear some things that most others would consider "out" if they themselves like it enough, & they sometimes mean they like general tips on what's "in" or "out" but that they also won't let themselves get into a "fashion slave" mindset where the choices of others dictate their own. They're sharing their opinion the same as everyone else in the comment section is doing. ☺
@@AJ-yw7hf - But it goes without saying that we can wear what we want. These videos are for people who do care about trends and how to look more youthful. If you're a person who's just trying to "pick up a few tips," fine. It's not necessary to leave negative comments about the content of the video.
@@wisteria808 it's not necessarily a negative.Saying, that you'll still wear your capris (for example)
For summer I wear linen dresses everywhere. No ironing, breezy, a little edgy cut, complex colors. They're my uniform.
I LOVE dresses, and linen is awesome!
Where do u get the linen dresses
@saffloweroyl3663 I love linen (especially flowing pants) but stay away from them bc of the extreme wrinkling. My linen pants look like they actually have pleats in certain places due to the wrinkles (when I get up, for example) not the design of the pants
What do you do?
Great video, I finally got rid of my capris, my velcro shoes and got a modern haircut! I just turned 59 I told myself this is going to be the best year of my fifties!
That is awesome!! #bestyearever 😊👍🏻
I just turned 59, too 🎉
...Congratulations on your Birthday. ..! I passed 59 a while ago, but I remember it well, lol.
Noone wants to wear rolled up jeans in the heat of summer! Capris are fine! People know your age anyway, believe me we arent fooling anyone. I by no means look frumpy, but looking my age is fine by me! My hair is silver now, Im loving it! I don't get this trying to fake your age stuff! I am so loving my age! I dress way better than some younger people but Im not wearing stuff to try to look 20! Lol.
I'm so with you.

Totally agree!
The thing is as well is all the pics she shows are of thin, flawless woman in their 20s. I’m only 5 mins into the video and won’t be watching any more.
@@vindaloo4489 so right. I love when she says roll up your skinny jeans. 😂 anyway I hear skinny jeans are on the way out and wider flare are making a comeback so just hang in there ladies and we will be rocking the styles before you know it. 😉
I Totally agree with the capri pants. I think they look So frumpy and old lady looking!
Go with the ankle length pants or jeans! Much more flattering❤️
I'm always shocked that we as women cannot figure out how to be kind, uplifting, and encouraging to one another. This channel is giving ideas and suggestions... if that's not for you, don't watch!! I am in my mid 40s and I'm not ready yet to look like a grandma but definitely well past the 20s. Thanks for your tips and advise 👍
You said it! Thank you!! We understand we’re not 25, BUT we certainly don’t wanna look like an old grandma by age 50!
I just fractured my hip and love slip ons
Capris length in proportion to your leg is key. Capris that hit your midcalf will make your leg look chopped and disproportionate. Just brushing the top of the calf or use an ankle length pant.
@@MYRA0929 Or even at age … (nearly ) age 75! Lol! I am absolutely DELIGHTED in BEING OLD ( even if I prefer being referred to as…. ”mature”! Lol! But I do attempt, in an easy manor way, to look current and relatively modern at age 75! No shade on anyone who feels differently!

Angela, great tips! My mom was someone who always looked fashionable and current into her late 70s. People always commented on her style. In fact, my teenage girls always admired how great their Grammy looked. It made her look so much younger too. She also never left the house without her makeup nicely done. Unfortunately, she passed away when she turned 80. She was a beautiful woman and I'll be lucky if I can be even slightly as fashionable as she was. Great video!
My daughter is 42 and I am 64. She dresses in grays and blacks and very ugly clothes just frumpy and not stylish at all and it makes me so sad because she is a beautiful beautiful person. She resembles Katy Perry. She has beautiful eyes. She is overweight very badly, but I don’t care about that. I dress in very stylish clothes. Cute Jean jackets cute jackets cute tops, cute pants very expensive shoes For me. I mean we’re not talking over $100 but we’re talking between 60 and $100. I always want to look nice and she always comments on how I look. It’s just unfortunate that at such a young age she can’t dress nicer. We have both struggled with our way, but I tend to keep mine down and she tends to keepers up. She has lost weight before and knows how to do it.
When your overweight it’s hard to dress the way you want. You tend to try to fade away that’s probably why your daughter dresses like that. You say you don’t care but your words say otherwise. Glad you manage to keep it down down as you say but not everyone is the same.
@@cyndimanka Ouch. You sound very judgmental when it comes to your daughter. I feel sorry for her, that her mother can't appreciate her as she is right now.
@cyndimanka .. If she wore bright clothing and your very expensive shoes would you still be " so sad"? Would you be happier with her appearance? From what I'm reading that's not at all what it is! You mention her weight and then mention what you wear. You're so sad she's so frumpy.. yet, you end your comment again, speaking of her weight!
She has lost weight before and knows how to do it. That has nothing to do with style (you just basically said she wears grays / blacks/ ugly clothes (in your opinion). Could that be that darker clothing is "slimming?" Did you ever think that maybe she's depressed? She comments on you bc (I'm sure) she's polite and knows how important looks are to you. Possibly, to lean The conversation towards you or away from her.
I don't mean to come across as a rude, It's just so crucial to understand that there is probably most certainly a deeper bigger issue here. Maybe you don't understand that, that could be the problem or I'm not sure if you've experienced depression or possibly you have and either lost weight or it didn't affect your outer appearance. Everyone is different. Maybe she needs help! Please address her mental health before being so concerned about her outer appearance...
Love the cat with the emery board. ❤
I’ve had some major difficult times for many years. They just ended. I cannot believe how frumpy I’ve become, whereas before the difficult times, I was the opposite. Now I’m a major fixer upper, slowly fixing one thing after another. Can’t believe how much makeup and skin care has changed since I last looked. And getting back into all the self-care I used to do is a major project. It’s gonna take a while to get it all going, again. UA-cam videos, like this one, really help. Thank you.
💞
I agree. I’ve let myself go because life got so hard and I gained a little weight and got old. These tips were helpful. Sometimes a fresh haircut can help a lot too
@@flowerpower3618 Yes, the years went by, too, and now have to do a whole fixer up thing and also get used to being older. I, too gained, weight. Luckily only 5 lbs, which I’ve already lost with that Dr. Sears Zone “diet” - a way of eating, not really a diet. That was the first thing I did, lose the weight, along with starting to exercise regularly, again. Lately I’ve been working on getting my skin back to great, finding to creams and tinted moisturizer, etc. Lots of work. I’ve been out of all of that for so many years and so much has changed. Next is body. Did get a haircut, but still don’t have a reliable hair cutting person. It takes a lot of work, focus and effort to get it back together, but I’m doing it. The really hard part is continually realizing how far down I’d gone :-(. Gotta keep going, though :-)
I think it is fabulous that you are getting back to really taking care of yourself and finding styles that make you feel good.
I am not trying to look younger. I am trying to look good whatever my age. It makes me feel better and gives me more energy and enthusiasm to embrace my life. I stopped doing this for a while and I just wasn’t as happy. I didn’t want to go anywhere because I didn’t have anything fashionable or fun to wear. Getting dressed was a chore. Nothing fit. Awh!
Then I decided that 1/4 of my life is being spent as an older woman, and I want to embrace it and enjoy it. And that means looking and feeling great. So I invested in some new items, sold and donated my former wardrobe, and now it is fun to get dressed again.
@@roxannsouci3037 Thank you for this encouragement. I needed to hear it today. And, yes, the pressure of looking younger - I don’t need it. As you said, looking your best, at whatever age, is awesome. Thank you! 😊
I’m with you on most of these suggestions. I am willing to give up capri pants but not for your suggestion. My thighs and knees are not attractive and capri pants covered those (I bought ones that ended just below the knee - never liked the ones that ended mid-thigh). I live in the sun belt - jeans are HOT in the summer and cuffing them so you look like Daisy Mae in the Beverly Hillbillies made me laugh out loud. Last year I bought three pair of linen pants, they cover everything and are cool, I sure hope they aren’t considered frumpy, if they are, I don’t care, I’m wearing them anyway.
💥👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻❣️
Wide linen pants are perfect in heat. The air get to move , and it looks good.
@@bezzerwizzer6448 thank you
Or ankle jeans or lightweight pants . I have nice ankles still ( at this point anyway😂😂)
Instead of capris ( mostly because I get bruises ) I wear ankle jeans ( pants). I do live in southern Calif and we rarely experience humidity and I have AC so that makes a difference.
I love my frame less glasses . I also have other frames too.
Replace your capris with cropped linen pants, maxi skirts, dresses, anything but old lady pants. Totally agree with you!
I think Capri pants can be frumpy but I also think they can be flattering. It depends completely on where they fall on your body. The ones you showed that cut off right below the knee rarely look good on anyone but the there are a variety of lengths in between the knee and the ankle that can look nice.
I've purchased capri pants that have a 'slacks' look and feel to them. They are more fitted. Its the loose boxy ones that tend to look frumpy.
If they reach the ankle they are not capri pants. It is something else, called « cropped », which is far more flattering.
I don't have the "Cinch It" gadget you mentioned, but I still change the look of my tops and dresses to get an asymmetrical hemline or shirred look across the midriff.
I use either a quarter or a large split ring with a tiny rubber band to achieve the look.
Great advice! I'm 60 and definitely don't want to look frumpy! 🙂
Angela, I think this was the most real and honest video to fight the frump.
Can't give up my capris, I have dressy & casual ones and I live in a HOT climate. But I'm with you on everything else, especially velcro shoes & baggies!
Yeah, capris are the only way I can get away with wearing shorts to work! 😂
I agree that many body/leg types capris might not be the best look. Especially short legged or shorter people. But for my long legs the ankle pant is the worst look!
Went out to the store today and everybody had capris on their back in fashion
For people that say they just don't care what people think, I would say, dress up. Look pretty. Do yourself up, with help if need be. I guarantee those people haven't felt pretty in long time, and will fall in love with how it makes them feel. Great tips Angela!
Who says they aren't doing that ? Rhe point it lwave women alone
@@jillianlea9690 You are making no sense. Don't drink and type.
I am one who can say it doesn’t matter to me what people think! I have gone past that stage in life! I embraced who I am, and am very comfortable if I don’t want to wear full makeup every day. I dress very well, wear makeup when I want to not to try to impress others, but for me. I feel pretty. But a person who feels the need to impress others to fit in, hopefully, one day will feel comfortable enough with themselves the way they are! You are probably still young and have not reached that age yet. A lot does change after retirement, (I’m speaking for myself,) but it doesn’t mean we have to look old and depressed!
Well said 👏 when you look good you feel good 👍
Looking pretty is a matter of opinion! Mine trumps trend!💥
thank you for saying capris! I have always hated those!
You do not look frumpy with no makeup on! You look adorable. But I understand where you are coming from and I have started to wear makeup again when I leave the house. It just makes me feel better. Thanks for sharing tips and tricks
Good to know that I can dig out my 80's tee shirt sliders!
I still have mine also! 😂
OK, you actually look really really pretty without make up. Most definitely not frumpy. And 100% agree - capris are NEVER OK!! Lol.
I agree with Make Up! A world of difference. Especially in photos. One may be dressed to the 9s, jewelry & outfit, without makeup, looks washout.
I personally prefer no makeup in the summer unless a special occasion. I am 59.
I love my long hair, I am a nursing assistant and braid my hair for work
I switched to cropped (hits just above ankle) linen pants or wide leg linen pants a few years back instead of capris. I live in Arizona so I know how unbearably hot it can be in pants in the summer. It's definitely difficult to find things to wear that cover me and keeps me cool. I also occasionally wear longer midi or maxi dresses in flowy cuts. Winter is easy since I love wearing jeans and pants but man the summer clothing is difficult. I also stay away from floral prints of any kind and stick with neutrals.
I so agree about finding less frumpy, while trying to stay cool , clothing for our AZ climate, it's a real challenge !!
If I had to deal with extremely hot weather, I wouldn’t care how frumpy I looked…
But I think maxi dresses always look feminine and pretty….
Maxi dresses look good on everyone...feminine and classy.
I'm from Australia, we get up to 42C in my area. That's 107-108F, no way am I wearing a jacket or a belt or long rolled pants. Pretty sure Arizona is about the same. Bring on winter. Maxi dresses are always nice.
Even here in Boston, our summers can be hot and SO muggy. My fave summer looks are crisp Bermuda shorts in neutral colors with a cotton top or a swingy trapeze dress that hits just below the knee. I’m glad my workplace is pretty casual.
Thank you for the great tips. When we are over 50, we start to become invisible...especially if we don't keep our clothes, hair (and teeth) and makeup current and timeless. One should not disguise their age but be the very best they can be. One thing I hope you would consider is changing your selection of photo examples. Photo examples of models in their 20s are rather out of place. Even in peak form, body shapes of us over 50 are very different than theirs and often more challenging. I hope in the future you will choose examples that reflect our beautiful age group. Thanks
Same with the really high heels. Let’s be real here.
I love “invisible”! Something to be said about not being judged by clothing!!💥
I totally agree with you with finding age appropriate women to model the great ideas. I have a thick waist and I am short waisted.
I have loved wearing belts all my life, but not only do they not fit anymore and need to be replaced, they just don’t look as good on me. I have to figure out a new way of belting my clothes to improve the silhouette.
@@Hapenparadise While I don’t care about getting attention from other people, I know that I feel better when I dress in a manner that looks good to me to please myself.
I have tried not caring at all, and it resulted in a very blah attitude about life. Once I put more of an effort into taking better care of myself, including my attire, I had more of a spring in my step and a zest for life.
@@Hapenparadise your comment just seems terribly sad, to
me.
I totally agree with you. Non frumpy clothes and make up make such a difference. We don’t have to look old bags before our time.😀 Regards L🌺🌺
I agree about the capris. I have great legs and a great trim figure at 74 but no to capris. Instead I look for stylish pants to fit the season. Great video!
Great that you talked about glasses frames! I have friends who haven't changed their frames in forever, and it ages them so much.
Any suggestions for plus size women? Empire waists or belted dresses can make one look pregnant. It is very difficult to find clothes that create a classy and tailored look for plus size women. No belt is going to give us a waist, it just accentuates the fact that we lost our waist! Lol! Thank you for sharing your tips with us.
I agree. Just look at Jennifer Coolidge in the white lotus. She looks awful and pregnant 8n those clothes. I think they costumed her that way to reflect the character?
You won't be able to get a tailored look, so if you're aiming for tailored style the only real tip would be to lose weight. But if you prefer not to, then good hair, make up, and quality fabrics will always look beautiful and classy on a big body. So will a belt.
I wear long, sleeveless, column-style maxi dresses with NO waist. I find that a waist seam always hits me in the wrong place, so I avoid them. Then you can wear a nice tailored button-up shirt over it (I wear them open) or whatever else suits your style. For me, this style helps elongate rather than emphasize my width. ☺ I also look for sleeves that fit well bc I think baggy sleeves make me look frumpy.
It would be nice to see more regular size women in examples - some size 10 or over
How about an A-line dress?
All great suggestions. Capri pants cut off a woman’s legs at the worst place. Instead try ankle length. I absolutely agree with you. I’m currently updating my wardrobe. And enjoying it immensely!
Also, get rid of those tie front sweaters. They scream frumpy.
Completely agree with capri pants making you look frumpy and even worse when paired with velcro shoes. I wouldn’t be caught dead in either at any age. 😂😂😂 Great video! I appreciate your suggestions.
I can sew so I have turned some of my capris into Bermuda shorts. Pretty happy with the more modern results.
I don’t like bermudas- feel it accentuates thighs.
Angela…. I’m “FOR” everyone choosing what they feel is best for themself. However, personally I am team anti-frump all the way!
Totally agree with you! I'd rather stay current for as long as I possibly can! I love trying new styles and looks.
Hi ! This is Brian's wife. LOVE your video! ESPECIALLY the kitty filing her nails!
Loved the black cat 🐈⬛
I'm 45 and love them- so comfy!! I'll keep wearing them. 🙂🙂
I started wearing makeup when I turned 50. Doesn’t take long, but tinted sunscreen, a bit of bronzer, blush, mascara can make all the difference. I wear glasses so I usually do eye makeup as well so you can actually see my eyes behind my thick lenses.
My husband says that your courageous and honest reviews are refreshing!
I recently lost 30 pounds and the baggy butt pants have been a challenge lately. Thank you for keeping me on the straight and narrow.
Congratulations!! That is an accomplishment! 🥳
I’m going through the same thing. Nothing worse than a baggy butt. 😂
I agree with everything. I had to pause to make sure I was not guilty of any of these infractions. I am clear 😂
Hi Angela! I am thrilled to have stumbled upon your video. I found myself relating to everything you talked about. I am going through a divorce after years of narcissistic abuse. I was discarded and abandoned and left with nothing. With no support system, I am trying to rebuild some kind of life. Everything you mentioned at the start of the video certainly applies to me. Because my divorce is not final, and my trial is fast approaching, I am trying to figure out how to dress, how to do my makeup and what to do with my neglected hair. I would like to look decent for the trial. So far I've picked up some wonderful tips from you so thank you very much! I will continue to watch and learn as I need all the help I can get. I lost 25 years with this person and I became a 'frump' over those years. Abuse tends to change us even when we don't see it. I certainly didn't.

All the best to you Tracy. You were not left with nothing, you still have your self and excellent insight. You will blossom like a beautiful flower.

My husband is always wanting Velcro shoes. I DO NOT let him buy them. And as you shared there are many styles that faux tie and do slip on.
We are old but still kicking and enjoying life!
That is right Dorothy! We have to enjoy each day. I really like the wiser part of getting older! We may not look like we did in our 20's but we are so much smarter!! I'll take that any day! 😊👍🏻
They have slide in shoes in several styles like tennis shoes, boat shoes, etc.
I just love all your tips, thanks so much!! ❤. I struggle with not wearing capris though, especially in the really hot weather. 😢. I live in RI and it’s gets into the 90’s here too with humidity. I would be way too hot with jeans on, even rolled up. Maybe a light weight material pants? I’m retired and nobody in my area wears dresses or skirts for casually going out. Still need ideas and I have so many capris. Bye-bye to them I guess. 😅
Great video! I switched from Capri pants to ankle jeans and it feels more current and elevated. Your hair and makeup looks great with or without makeup! Who could possibly say anything about your hair??? 🙄
Hi Tami! ankle jeans are a great choice too! Lol, you would be surprised about the hair....🤣🤷♀️
Interesting video. One thing I'd like to mention is eyeglasses. For those of us who wear prescription lenses every day you have to choose what is comfortable and works best for you. For example I have a small face and many of the bold, colorful plastic frames overwhelm my features, plus it's much more expensive to change prescription glasses. I think most of us do what we like but you had some good tips.
Yes! I have a petite face and plastic frames are usually too over powering. Glasses shopping is such a pain.
I understand what you’re saying because I also have a small face and small features and I can’t handle anything heavy on my nose. But I did find a pair of glasses that have a thin tortoiseshell frame around the eye but with metal along the arms and they are light enough to be comfortable.
There are also discount frames online.
@@margaretImhappy It’s not just the cost of the frames, the lenses are the problem especially if you need progressives, it really adds up!
Hi … Thank you for being kind about this topic … a couple of people l have watched have been down right rude about this ( being frumpy ) !! … giving options is great !! 😊😊😊
I got clear-framed (slightly cat-eye, not flashy) glasses over a year ago. I got a compliment on them from my younger hairstylist, (quite a pleasant surprise).
I hope these trendy glasses haven't gone out of style already. I do want to get the same style in black next time. My hair is light/med brown .
The clear rimmed glasses are definitely in style. As are the thin round frames. She’s out of touch on glasses trends.
True! .. and whitening our teeth helps make us look alive too 🤩
11:41 Not all teeth can be whitened! And some of us have sensitive gums and whitening can be excruciatingly painful.
I agree and love your input to end frumpy. Capris do make legs look chopped off!
As we get older many of us are dealing with pain and health issues. Finding clothing that looks good and fits comfortably can be quite a challenge. I love shoes and have always had a wonderful collection but now - it's HARD to find shoes that accommodate wide feet, PN and a back held together plates. Let's not judge but be empathetic. Make up and the right jewelry can help any outfit. So can a great handbag.
Hi Reppi! I know all about pain and back issues. I had constant 24/7 horrible back pain for 4 1/2 years straight. I am not coming from a place where I have no experience in that. That being said, you have to do what works best for you....always
I also have back pain....we all can look good at any age! Its a wonderful topic! Thanks Angela💐
Yes, I’m 56, going on 57, have battled severe Rheumatoid Arthritis since I was 23, and am recovering from my third back surgery as I type this at this very moment. The pain I have endured this week post op (surgery Monday) has been unbearable but here I am! No capris period! My doctors and their staff are my biggest social circles some weeks and they always tell me how nice I look and they don’t know how I manage! “Mind over matter,” I always say! Love ya, Angela! I agree on every detail! You’re awesome! So enjoyed watching you today! ❤
Same thing with narrow feet. I’m a 6.5 aaa, and must wear arch supports. I used to have lots of cute shoes but now everything less expensive is too wide and has no arch support.
The new step in shoes, skechers and shoot one other brand, will help eliminate velcro need for those who can't tie shoes or easily fasten shoes since they are literally step in and the heels pop back up. They are offering more and more cute casual styles. I convinced a friend of mine with ascites who can't get to his feet to try the step in shoes this past winter and it allowed him to go out in snowcto his car more.
I loved this video, and agree with all your tips! Thank you!
jeans in coastal SC rolled up or not is like wearing a sauna in the summer
Thanks for saving us again, Angela! Taking notes on this one! 😉
Thanks for all the good ideas! I certainly don’t want to look frumpy! It is getting harder as I’m getting older 💕😬
I can’t get over how fast your channel has grown over the past six months 🎉 you’re kicking butt girl. Great video. I have to get betting about wearing more makeup when I leave the house. 😂 Forget to add I love that cat filing there nails.
Thank you so much! It has been very exciting to see the growth and to constantly challenge myself to make better videos as time goes by! Lol, I love the cat too! 🤣
I agree about the capris. Ankle length are way more flattering on my curves
I like that you’re respectful and gentle in your suggestions. I live in a hot hot hot climate and don’t love capris but I have a pair of narrow longer white ones that are ok with looser tops. I can’t wear a lot of your suggestions (large abdomen) but many are helpful.
Good tips thank you. But I’m still keeping my capris! 😆
You said it all, I think. :) The baggy pants, the no makeup look--ugh! I have my issues, but I recognize these two as the most frumpy of all, maybe along with the velcro shoes.
Love the video Angela. I often buy some of your suggestions. I think you should do a video on hairstyles for women over 50. Keep up the good work Angela!
Lovely ideas Angela...thank you so much!!!xxx
Thank you for your kind recommendations. I know I need help, but have been unsure where to turn. I appreciate your shirt tricks with the little tools. I thought I had to get rid of some shirts I love, but now realize that I can wear them with a little help. ❤
Absolutely love your ideas. I have a good few staples in my wardrobe/ closet. I can so relate to your fashion. Love you from a little woman in the heart of Ireland.
Hi Angela, I'm a new subscriber. I love your videos. I've been binge-watching for the last few days! I agree with all of your comments. In fact, I'm from the South, but in the last year or so I have been purging all of my capris from my wardrobe and replacing them with ankle pants/jeans. I like the look so much better! Great video!
Welcome Sharon! 😊
Agree with everything you mentioned Angela.., thank you for sharing 🌹
This was a good video and as always entertaining to boot! Thx, Angela.
I would love to see how you apply your no makeup… makeup look… I love it❤
Loved this video! Thanks for your help!
I agree with everything you mentioned love your channel ❤
thank you for your marvelous tips. you always have something that catches my interest.
Capris will always be my go-to😊
Hi Angela, these are all so true!!! With you on every tip!!! I love that rolled up denim look! I ordered a cinch it after watching last weeks video, it arrived today! Can't wait to use it! You're inspiring!!!! Thanks❤
So glad you got the cinch it! Play with it in different areas and see where you like it best. It's a fun little tool! 😊
Could you please share where you bought it? Sounds dumb, but I can't find the type shown in this video. Thank you!

Angela, I am so happy I found your channel. You have a sparkling personality and so many great fashion ideas. I love watching all of your videos. I have started to follow your advice and I feel like a fashionista already!! TThanks for sharing.😊😊
I live at the bottom of Texas, and staying cool is my goal. This year, linen capris’ with wide legs have been in fashion, and they look smashing! Jewelry also helps make my outfits finished looking.❤
I agree with all of this except for the capris. I live in FL where it is steamy hot. It is too hot for jeans or pants in the summer. I have some shorts but don't feel comfortable in them so I have a lot of capris. The stores sell a lot of capris and I see them on a lot of women who manage to look fasionable.
Wear pants in a breathable cotton instead of jeans. I actually own a pair of khakis, which sounds awful but they're a feminine cut that keep me so cool in the summer.
You crack 😅me up with this one the “pancake butt 😂 and the cat 🐈⬛ Tammy Fay baker. Love 💕 your videos.
Thank you Kitty! 😊
I dress for myself- what I believe is attractive, comfortable, a color I enjoy, shows up in the resale stores I frquent, works for whatever I'm planning to do.
My single rule is to stay away from tie dyed clothing.
Everyone else can think what they want, pass judgement on how I appear if they feel the need to.
Thank you thank you thank you for this video. Why women dress old as they get older is such a mystery. We women over 50 (I’m 54) must stay looking current and on trend to avoid the old lady look. Great tips Angela!!
Thank you so much Donna! 😊
Really? Why exactly “must” we?
Luckily I have adult daughters who help keep me on track.
