A very deep purple sweater, it was gorgeous, but now it wears me, so I gave it away. Softer colors really suit me now like that beautiful baby blue jacket you wore with the ankle grazing jeans and the t-shirt, which is a great idea. : o)
Once while speaking to my professor, he told me my blouse was unbuttoned. It was that third one, right in the middle, so you know what he saw. I instantly died and wanted to drop the class. From that point on, l couldn't look at him. You know l probably had been going to class to class to class.... Could of used some of that double sided tape that day.😮
Wow! I’ve just discovered your site, thank you so much I am 54 and I didn’t even realise that I have NEVER changed my style! Now I think a bit more about accessories as I am only 5ft I’ve made small changes that have made a big difference 😊. Thank you I will continue to keep watching.
I lost 60 pounds and need new clothes that fit. At 78, with newly Grey hair, I am baffled at what to purchase. I live a very casual life west of Chicago and need varying weather clothes. Your videos help.
I am dedicating 2023 to self care. Part of it is to completely revamp my look & wardrobe so I am loving all your advice & tips. The shakes sound interesting too xx
I follow the motto "just because I can, it doesn't mean I should ". I stopped wearing things like super high heals, mini skirts, tight dresses and revealing tops. They don't feel elegant.
While watching this, I removed all my short cardigans from my closet that I haven’t worn in years anyway. They were classy pieces so felt I needed to keep them! 😬Thanks for helping me continue to pare down my wardrobe!
I keep things that fit well but aren't modern because they come back in style sooner or later. I just "store" them for a while. I only do this with some items I really love, not with everything.
I just discovered you and love this video! I am in my early 50's and stopped wearing distressed denim. It definitely didn't help with the elegant look I strive for.
Thank you for the tips on looking fabulous! If the capri pants make the legs look wider- does that apply to the arms? Does a three quarter length sleeve make arms appear unflattering? Great video to watch and learn!
Great tips! At 66, I’ve stopped wearing really short skirts, even though I have good gams. Wrinkles above the knees is just not a great look, I’m afraid. Otherwise, I still wear just about everything I wore in the past, but more color and more statement jewelry. I found I was falling into the trap of wearing mostly black or grey as I got older, which many older women do, but then I realized that it was making me look older! I still wear black and grey, but i always add a pop of red or other color with my jewelry, shoes or bag.
Thank you, Deidre! I love the blue tailored shirt you styled today, and I feel good in that style. I’m definitely looking for longer pants and long shorts this season, rather than capris. Blessings!🌹
These are exactly the videos I need to watch. My fashion sense never was great and as I got older it just got harder. I agreed with all the outfits you put together! 👍
Another perfect and timely video, Deirdre! With us being on the cusp of spring it's a good time to rethink our wardrobes! It's truly amazing the difference adding a 3rd piece can make!! Have a fantastic week!!
Today is Mother’s Day and ‘wow’ ……you have given me the idea for the perfect outfit to wear to the family get together today. Love this video and all of them I have been watching, Happy Mother’s Day to you also.
Great tips! Neutrals with a pop of color is my go-to. Love adding a bright handbag and/or shoes. The colorful pieces get compliments and I can change up the look easily to match the season.
You validated what I have been wearing. I agree with the bagging look and never liked. I often wear a scarf and I wear colours that compliment by colouring ( I had my colours done)
Hi Deirdre…I recently lost 20lbs and I’ve ruthlessly purged my closet. Felt so good! Also reintroduced some items from retirement including a Gucci belt that I can now do up! I love your videos and suggestions. They’ve really helped me in choosing looks that flatter my Apple shaped body! 😘 from 🇨🇦
I lost weight too, and man, did I get rid of those clothes fast. I really hated getting rid of my London Fog trench until I realized I could just buy a new one. Duh!
I stopped wearing Black all the time... and have tried lighter and brighter colours...getting a few compliments and more importantly I feel better for it.
I love the outfits you put together 💖. I’m over wearing rips in my jeans.I’d love to see more spring/summer outfit inspired videos as I have trouble putting pieces together.
This is the first time I have seen your video, and I was pleased to see that you cater for the older woman. Thank you, I shall look forward to watching again.
Capri pants should not be made😏they really flatter no-one and there are so many great options now for shorts and trousers! I got rid of the ones I had a few years ago and never looked back! Thanks Deidre🙂
Thank you for your useful tips. I'm not great at accessorising and styling even though I pick nice one off pieces so they tend to get lost without the right styling or material matches. I look forward to watching more of these.😊
Dear Deirdre, at our age we all have knowledge, more or less style, etc but I love your videos all the same. I'm too busy to follow trends all the time, for one thing. But more importantly, your positive vibe helps me move out of my concern zone; I feel rested as well as informed. Please keep making these videos on various items. ❤
I don't really know how all of this works but I'll give it a try... I'm so excited about becoming a Nona which isItalian & Elisi which is Cherokee for (grandmother)...we are taking a trip to NY to see him & I realize that I'm now in my 50's & have been out of what's in style or fashion game for some time and needed a great deal of help. That's when I found your video. I think that you have great fashion sense the cuts of clothing that helps or hurts women's figures our age...I'm thrilled that you talked to us about the clothing & the shakes because I've been talking with my doctors for years asking for anything to help me & they haven't so now I have hope that I can get well and feel better to spend more quality time with my children & now grandchildren. Thank you very much 😊
You are such a pleasure to watch! Your tasteful and stylish eye guides us from the pitfalls of not dressing appropriately for our maturing stages. Thank you! Also, that blue shirt! ❤
I’ve always thought loose fitting capris are not flattering at all! I do wear a shorter just below the knee pedal pusher tho that are closer fit. I’m 72!❤❤❤
I’ve been going through menopause for 20 years now and there seems to be no end in sight. Hormone therapy is out since I’ve had breast cancer. Thank you for this suggestion, I’m open to just about anything. I just hope it’s available in Canada.
Another great video, Deirdre! I know how hard it is to bck away from wearing baggy clothes to hide what we don't like. I did find when I bit the bullet and wore more form fitting clothes, I did look slimmer!
I think we tend to tell ourselves that baggier clothes will hide our bigger parts, when in fact they tend to also hide our smaller parts making us just look big all over. I am an hourglass with a waist and also a butt. I love to front tuck my shirt and blouse it out a bit in front. That makes my tummy recede and falls down over my bum. A fully tucked shirt with a belt and a jacket or cardigan also shows that I do, in fact, have a waist and gives a longer line in front. One of my favorite looks is to tuck a longer sweater or t-shirt in a bit just over one hip bone. It hides tummy and rear, shows that my legs do actually go up past the bottom of the shirt, and adds structural interest.
I am 48 and having lots of troubles!!! From hair thinning and turning grey to a 30lb weight gain:( I think you are beautiful and a great youthful looking example of what I’d love to try and emulate👏
This new product looks interesting. Also, in my opinion, you look younger today in the blue shirt than in the green from a few years ago. I love how you are constantly looking for ways to improve how we can look and feel!
Deidre I would think most of your subscribers are on the same page as you and can’t wait to tune in for all your good ideas and suggestions. I myself always watch out for your video posts. Thank you 🌸
I'm 35, just recently found your channel and I really like your videos! Great advice, qualified and well done content, you are so positive, active, beautiful, the background that changes in every video is wonderful. I subscribe to some vloggers my age, but your taste and wardrobe suits mine better. Thanks for your videos! I'll definitely apply your advices, at least realized that I need to rip off the lapel of my capri and end them in trousers.
You are right Deirdre , I too used to wear Lime Green and also Vivid Orange when I was younger with my Debbie Harry blonde hair . Now Im 65 and my hair is a silvery ash grey colour and my skin paler , ive swapped out for Soft Mint and Soft Peach instead . Funnily I never wore pink when I was a little girl , but now with my new older colouring I really suit it! But I go for a Nude Pink or Raspberry . Im gutted I no longer suit Bright Scarlet , but ive swapped that out for Wines and Claret which strangely being darker I do suit . Thanks for your Inspiration Deirdre❤
I love your videos the tips really help. I agree about capri trousers they always make someone look older. I take a well known multivitamin to help with post menopause, but would love to try the Bomimo product.
I live in hot and very humid North Carolina and I wear capris. I can’t wear shorts. Also wear cute T-shirt dresses. You definitely can’t wear denim pants here in spring and summer or until October unless you like to burn up! It’s the humidity!
Hi Deidre, such a blessing that I came across your videos today and have just subscribed too. I live in sunny South Africa and your fashion advice is like a breath of fresh air!! My almost 20-year old daughter, who has great fashion sense, recently told me I dress the same now as I did in my 20's ... a shocking realisation after looking at old photos!!! I'm loving your videos and practical advice, thank you so much!! So looking forward to spring-cleaning my cupboard and putting your advice to good use! Look forward to many more helpful videos from you. Have a great day!!
I always believe in dressing in what you find comfortable. I integrate items from my old tops along with new pants. Or new tops with old pants. It doubles my wardrobe. then do a quick mirror check to see if it gives you the look you feel great in.
This was great! I live in Arizona where life is beyond casual and have fallen into the yoga pants or shorts every day. At 67 and quite small,I have trouble finding clothes that fit well and are cool. Since menopause the feel of the fabric is priority #1 as anything stiff or scratchy is a hard no. Looking forward to learning more from you!
I’m 75 and after watching several videos like this one completely updated and refreshed my wardrobe. It is fun and exciting to have a new look. This video and others like it changes lives💖
Those shakes sound interesting.. I agree with many of your points-I fall victim to some of these at times and def need reminders like these to STOP wearing them if I want to look and feel more youthful-don't we all!! xoxoKathy
Hello There.. I am new here. Thanks for your fashion tips. I was told after 40 do not wear stripes or multi colors tops and to wear more solid color tops. At 60 . I love to look younger by dressing with right colors and styles.. . Really appreciate you. Have a Bless week.
I am 56 I just like too look smart I think is important to carry yourself well at my age I don’t feel my age so I’m always happy trying new trends I must be doing something right as my 27 year old daughter gets me giving her style tips 😂 xx
Enjoyed this very much. I've given up skinny jeans. I prefer a straight leg now. I agree with lose the cardigans. Not flattering. Longer one looks much better. Thanks.
I am in my late 50’s and I wear anything I want including crop tops. I work out everyday and in better shape than some 20 year-olds. I think it’s important to dress for your own liking instead of everybody else’s.
I love your suggestions. I'm 67. I don't mind oversized clothes, but I don't like to wear them because I barely weigh 100 lbs. I do like a bright red. I'll probably keep wearing a pop of pretty red! Thank you!
Lovely video! I loved your examples. Please enter me in the giveaway and thank you for the information on a great way to stay healthy in this season. BLESSINGS ALWAYS 🙏
Appreciate the advice about wearing baggy things...I found I have a tendency to wear these items trying to hide a bulging belly, yet I have realized it doesn't give me that put together look that I like...thank you.
Hi Deirdre, I only found your channel fairly recently. You're a joy to watch. Thanks so much for all the wonderful tips and advice. I've always loved fashion; styling myself and friends - when they've asked. As I've got older and as my body has changed a bit (weight gain) I've found it harder to know what works for me. Your channel is so helpful and is giving me such great ideas that are age appropriate and budget friendly. Thank you!
So glad that I found you, I’m going on 61 and found myself shopping and realized I did not know what to wear to fit my age. Thank you so much I enjoy your channel and all of your advice. The shakes sound like just what I need also❤❤❤
I sure do wish I had your figure!!!! I'm 5'0" and every pound shows!!! I am 73 and have decided to "tone down" my wardrobe, but only a little. I like unique/different clothes....not garish or anything, just not what you will see on everybody else. But some of the items I have probably really need to go. I don't want anybody thinking I've lost my mind in old age:) Glad I found your channel.
Oh, the all over flower pattern blouse…I had 3 - 4, and on a small occasion for my son at school, I wore one which didn’t look matronly and when I saw what it looked like in a picture I threw them out. I asked my son if he noticed what I looked like in them, to which he said he thought I knew what they looked like but he didn’t want to make me feel bad. You, have legs you can show…some of us don’t (I always had a bit larger knees) and the heat in Tx doesn’t permit the wear of longer pants (linen or other fabrics). I have my cargo pants that are not quite cropped (I know the length). I have a daughter with special needs and take her everywhere with me, so simplicity is a must. I also can’t wear jewelry (not even 10kt gold) due to allergies so for me it’s a gold chain with a pendant. Loved your video!
Your comment about Color is relevant. I have recently discovered that some colors I’ve been wearing my whole life don’t do as much for me as they used to. I love that striped shirt. Thank you.
I loved what u have sown me & would like to try the milk shake . I'm 63 & fill 43 with ur help I can look 53 .And would be nice . Thank you for all ur helpful tips. Linda Rodriguez
Hi Deirdre, thank you for your suggestions. I wore dark clothing when I was younger however now that I’m older I find that more vibrant colors work better. We do need to check out our wardrobe every once in awhile. The shakes sound good too. Great job on your videos!
That’s what I hate about dressing for summer, it’s just too hot where I live to add that important third piece, which usually means a blazer or other jacket for me. I’m excited about a white blazer I just ordered from Banana Republic (the Captain’s Blazer), though, it’s 100% cotton with a breathable (rayon) lining and looks like a classic fit, which I love, no huge oversized blazers for me. This one I will be able to wear summer mornings and evenings. I also have an unlined beige linen one that I can wear. It’s so hard to find blazers that have breathable linings (not polyester). I am probably guilty of wearing all classics, but many of them aren’t basic, they have an interesting (classic, but modern) pattern, color or some other modern details. I would definitely feel that your first example basic outfit, the white tee & sneakers with jeans, is too basic for me. If I feel like an outfit is too plain and basic, I’ll add jewelry and/or a nice belt or silk scarf to add interest.
I agree with every one of your suggestions but the one that struck me was the beautiful blue striped shirt with darts! I think darts are what is missing from my life and my wardrobe. I have a sewing machine and will be adding darts to many of my button downs....thanks for the suggestion!
The last outfit with your blue shirt and light pants looks so BEAUTIFUL on you!!!! All of them are nice, but the last one is just gorgeous and suits you perfectly.
Ankle- grazer pants are what we used to call "high water pants" in a derogatory way, so I am not yet able to get enthusiastic about the look. I definitely do agree on the longer capris, tho, and much prefer skimmers (or what used to be called "pedal pushers")
Your tips and suggestions are helpful. I am 62, I am 5’2, I have an athletic build and workout daily. The idea is not to throw out your wardrobe and subscribe to someone else’s idea of fashion. Create your own signature style. That is the objective. I personally don’t like shopping. But when I need to supplement my wardrobe in the future, I probably will refer back to a few of your videos. Thanks.
What items of clothing have you stopped wearing recently? I'd love to hear your views. Lots of love to you all. Deirdre. XX
I enjoy lower heels and prefer to avoid 👠 high heels as I turn 60 in August
@@mimismegalife4976 Yes, I know what you mean! I love heels but I can't wear them like I used to! XX
I didn't wear my capri pants at all this last summer. Going to store them in a suitcase for now.
Red jeans 😂
A very deep purple sweater, it was gorgeous, but now it wears me, so I gave it away. Softer colors really suit me now like that beautiful baby blue jacket you wore with the ankle grazing jeans and the t-shirt, which is a great idea. : o)
I’ve recently discovered double sided fabric tape. Now I can wear button up shirts and not have that gap at the bust. It was a game changer for me 💜
Great plan. XX
Thank you! I keep buying blouses too big because of that.
I sew my own because of that!

Love your fashion advice. I am 52 years old and have noticed my style has remained consistent throughout the years and it’s time for a change. ❤🇨🇦
Have fun with shopping.
I’m exactly the same …age and updating my wardrobe in Northern Ontario❤ 🇨🇦
I totally agree that we must periodically update our looks to stay fresh and appear younger! Thanks for sharing your tips!❤

I agree about the length of the sweaters. 2nd one adds a bit of sophistication to the outfit. I had a pair of Capri's - once, never again.
Thank you, Deidre! I love the blue tailored shirt you styled today, and I feel good in that style. I’m definitely looking for longer pants and long shorts this season, rather than capris. Blessings!🌹

I agree with many of your points-I fall victim to some of these at times and def need reminders like these to STOP wearing them if I want to look and feel more youthful-don't we all!!
xoxoKathy
Absolutely. XX
💯
Hello There.. I am new here. Thanks for your fashion tips. I was told after 40 do not wear stripes or multi colors tops and to wear more solid color tops. At 60 . I love to look younger by dressing with right colors and styles.. . Really appreciate you. Have a Bless week.
I am 56 I just like too look smart I think is important to carry yourself well at my age I don’t feel my age so I’m always happy trying new trends I must be doing something right as my 27 year old daughter gets me giving her style tips 😂 xx
Love that! XX
I agree, Terri. The most important person to dress for is YOU!! XX
🎉❤
❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤
I agree. I exercise every day as well and iam 60
Du…
💪🏼❤️❤️AGREE !
Aww, thank you, Mimi. Of course, you are entered into the giveaway! Take care xx
Appreciate the advice about wearing baggy things...I found I have a tendency to wear these items trying to hide a bulging belly, yet I have realized it doesn't give me that put together look that I like...thank you.
You're so welcome, Janice. XX
Thank you!
I'm so happy you like my videos and a big welcome to my channel, Connie. XX
Good Videow, Love all the classy/comfortable outfits she's sporting!!
Thank you, I think your suggestions are very helpful especially about the baggy clothes.
I returned to natural fabrics bc of quality and look. And to dresses at midlength (knees). It is so gorgeous feminine and you make the difference.
Wonderful! XX
Thank you for the informative video. Is Bomimo available in South Africa?
So glad that I found you, I’m going on 61 and found myself shopping and realized I did not know what to wear to fit my age. Thank you so much I enjoy your channel and all of your advice.
The shakes sound like just what I need also❤❤❤
Thank you so much, and welcome, Marci. XX
Very interesting tips for not looking frumpy but an elegant styles to follow! Excellent !!! Luv it..
Glad you enjoyed it! XX
Love you in blue, my favorite color. Thanks for the helpful hints to keep us from looking frumpy.
You are so welcome! XX
Interesting ideas for updating outfits. The shake looks delicious so thanks for all the suggestions/solutions.
❤😂 I love your tips, I'm 70 and I need a refresh
Hahaha. I just bought two cardigans to wear with my dress. They are short but they are adorable.
You are fabulous! Can't think of anyone who would look good in Capri pants!
The blue blouse is beautiful on you! Classic look.
Oh thank you! I really love this bright shade. It makes me feel more alive! XX
Very good rendition of what to wear and what not to wear .
I wear what makes me feel comfortable ...
Your suggestions are good though .
Hi Deirdre, thank you for your suggestions. I wore dark clothing when I was younger however now that I’m older I find that more vibrant colors work better. We do need to check out our wardrobe every once in awhile. The shakes sound good too. Great job on your videos!
Good point about colours and how our skin and hair changes over the years😊
Are these Menoshakes good for women after menopause?
Your new blazer sounds beautiful. I've just had a look at it and it's a beautiful cut - slightly tailored in at the waist. I love it. XX
I agree with every one of your suggestions but the one that struck me was the beautiful blue striped shirt with darts! I think darts are what is missing from my life and my wardrobe. I have a sewing machine and will be adding darts to many of my button downs....thanks for the suggestion!
You’re so welcome. Xx
I would love to try the shakes and you have great taste in styles
@ 5’4”, I’ve learned to love the half tuck and found that petite tops often work better than regular longer tops with jeans or pants.
Thank you. Nice suggestions with photos, which make us really see the differences..
I've got to get a boucle jacket - seen these in several videos and they seem to really work!
That blue shirt is such a stunning colour! Do you have any other videos about colours that look good on mature women?
Love all your friendly advice! X
Hi Janine. I am planning to make more videos about colour actually, so watch this space!! XX
Love your insights on what not to wear! My thoughts hav3 been rather frumpy considering my wardrobe! Thanks, looking forward to more updates!
7:30pm thanks for sharing great ideas! I'm currently staring at my closet and wondering...."why do I have that?!"😂thanks for the encouragement
Wow such great tips
I love the new longer sweaters/open Cardigans
I love the inside scoop on what clothes mature women should be wearing.
Jeans & a white tee…I rarely wear sneakers, mostly flats…they look great. The right jewelry helps this look a lot also.
I totally agree! Xx
Wonderful video on making suggestions of items that will make us look put together!
Thanks so much, Sharon. XX
Thank you for your channel, I think its great. I have recently stopped wearing those capris!
Thanks.
Absolutely, Denise. Every woman should dress for how she feels most comfortable and happiest. XX
Hi where do you get your shirts. I am petite and want a dark blue stripe shirt. Any ideas please?
You are now my new best friend. I have just pulled apart 3 pants and taken them in to look smarter slimmer and more flattering.
That’s wonderful, Sue. I’m delighted to be your best friend xx
Love your fashion ideas, a must try! Keep on the energy ……. Thank you for sharing 💐😍👍
Love the video… I am in my 70’s … especially about looking at colours
