The final product kind of looks like the planet Jupiter. I think a set of 8 coloured to look like each planet is my new summer project. Thanks for the video!
If you ever try another one try using concrete colour on the plaster mold. After you oil it and just before you put the concrete in use a brush to work the pigment into the oil. I use 3 to 4 different colours overlapping a bit to blend them together. Nice build. 👍
@@HomeandGarden-Tutorials starpatch is the name of the local company that I usually buy from. They have a fairly fine ground colour line. I think any fine powder colour should work. I also mix a bit of all or most of the colours I’m using to add to the blending. It’s very interesting how much variation you can achieve.
@@traceybaldwin6509 The balloon is only filled with a little water so that it is heavier at the bottom and does not roll around. It is simply more stable when the plaster is applied. The rest is inflated with air, depending on how big you want the ball to be.
Concrete is actually pretty fragile and especially if you're going to fill it with something wet! It would be good if you somewhere linked the materials you used but this thing is going to fall apart... If you knock intonit or just ftom the moistire making it weak. It's kind of a cool idea but you should put a plastic ball in the middle to start with and then only do the layer of cement and Skip your first step... Then where you have the crack you can also slice into the ball but leave the plastic on the inside like a liner.,.. I would think you would also want a drainage hole.. but who knows what people are planning to do with this thing you could just cut the ball in half and have the whole bottom part be open also. I don't know it's kind of cool in concept but not a very well-thought-out execution for any other use than making a UA-cam video
So the ball has been lying in my garden for some time, I'm not afraid that it will fall apart. Good ready-mixed concrete is really very durable. If you want, you can also make the mold thicker, but 2 to 3 centimeters is enough to make it last forever. Of course, the color can fade or flake off over time, but moss grows on it and it looks very natural. Of course, the underside must be open so that there is contact with the soil and the plant gets moisture. Then the part is really maintenance-free. In case of drought, I water a little. Try it and believe me, if you want the ball to be really smooth on the outside, you need to do the first step with plaster. Otherwise, the ball will only be smooth on the inside, where no one will see it anyway. Thank you for your interest. Sorry, the text has been translated with BING. 😊😉
This method ensures that the concrete ball becomes really smooth. Concrete a ball on the outside, that's what everyone does and it just doesn't look good. You then have to get it smooth by hand, that's hardly possible. If you want it smooth, you have a little more work. Thank you for your interest.
Absolutely gorgeous and creative!!!👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Thank you very much, I'm delighted. Have fun building a garden decoration. 😎👍🏻

Ok, that sounds interesting. Do you use a specific color or brand? Thank you for your comment.

Yes... 👍🏻
I thought you filled the balloon with water, yet you let air out of it?
Btw, I love this!

I’ve looked, I cannot find your Utube videos doing these. Do you have one?
I guess that’s why CONCRETE driveways all over the world dissolve in the rain.
This is cool but so much extra work why don't you just cover the ball and cement and then Pop the ball and take it out
