Thank you for letting us see the country with you as a guide, and for your English subtitles so we can learn along with the language too. For me, this is the most valuable Icelandic content on YT, even more than the Grapevine - because of the subtitles. Thank you so much!
Love your content, Ívar. I’m intrigued by the witchcraft museum and will hopefully visit one day! We were meant to visit Iceland this year to celebrate 10 years married, but COVID put a stop to it. Thanks for sharing the beauty of Iceland! Best wishes to you and your family, safe travels 😊
Another great video! I spent 25 days driving around Iceland this summer and really enjoyed Hólmavík. It was so peaceful and there were even seals swimming in the harbour. Unfortunately, your video has reminded me about the necropants 😱 though. It took me 3 months to get that image out of my head last time! 😂
It is nice to see things tourists would not typically see. 15C made me smile; where I live this week's high will be 44C. Question: at ~ 6:33: the little houses. What are they, do you know? Are these for the Huldofolk (sorry for the poor translation)?
Yeah, 15-20 is what we can expect on a good summer's day up here in the middle of nowhere. Anything above 30 and I just turn to useless jelly. ;) These little model "burstabæir" (old A-shaped farmhouses) are a relatively common decorative item, but I believe that yes sometimes it is said that they belong to elves and huldufolk, although these creatures are more commonly said to live in rocks.
Skemmtilegt að horfa á þetta og takk fyrir hlýleg orð um strandir😊 þú þyrftir í næsta stoppi hér á ströndum að fara í Ármeshrepp yndislegur staður að heimsækja.

Neih, hér bý ég, á Hólmó! Gott að þið nutuð tímans! 🙂
Æðislegur staður. Virkilega hlakka til að koma aftur á svæðið!

Thanks Suzie! I hope with Covid on the decline in this part of the world you'll get to resume your plans!

Sorry about the necropants! ;)
Ég er bara að læra íslensku og myndskeiðin þín eru góð hjálp. Takk!!
Gaman að heyra. Takk fyrir það! :)

@@ivargu They must be the elf/huldufolk equivalent of bird boxes.
Ég fór líka á Café Riis (veit ekki hvernig það er skrifað). Ég fékk mér lambakjöts-salat!
Úfff, tjaldurinn; ef það er einhver einn fugl á Íslandi sem á skilið að deyja út...
Óska honum kannski ekki útdauða, en það væri fínt ef hann væri bara þar sem ég er ekki ;)

Takk fyrir uppástunguna, ég þarf klárlega að skoða það!
Sorry skrifaði þetta í nafni dóttir minnar😊
