There're three kinds of people in this world. People who make mistakes and keep making them, people who learn from their mistakes, and people who learn from others mistakes. Thanks for giving power to the viewer. Now let's see if they use it.
I used to work in a restaurant with a great chef, he always said..."Standards, Standards and Standards, always make sure every customer gets the same standard of service"...exactly like what the Starbucks CEO has done here in large scale. Great teaching Tom, Keep these Case studies coming.
Wow... Tom Ellsworth is brilliant. People commenting that they only came here for Patrick should know that this guy is extremely valuable and offers advice from decades of experience. Thanks for bringing this guy in VALUETAINMENT!
I am Denny, an entrepreneur from Cambodia. I own cosmetic company and jewelry line. I watch your videos everyday and they really teach me a lot. You are my mentor. Thank you, and I appreciate that a lot. Please keep it up with your good work.
I like this kind of content. Valuetainment is a product of their own beliefs - testing, experimenting and optimizing for what works. As an entrepreneur myself, these case studies definitely give us another set of lens to see through. Thanks Pat and Tom!
When I become a professor, the assignment would be, watch the valutainment's case study of so and so company. You people are best, Please teach us more and more in your upcoming videos.
Thank You. I don't know how I got to this channel, but a couple days of watching these videos I got pumped. I got ideas. I got the knowledge. Now I'm ready to roll! Keep it up!
I am a HUGE Gary Vaynerchuck fan....But gosh this content is so good. As the owner of a growing business. I have absolutely binged on this info. It helped me so. I am currently working on how to systemize my process for my employees, but yet keep grade A customer service.
CJ Lee I love Gary too, but he's nothing compared to Valuetainment. Gary is more about motivational stuff, he's a one man band and kind of started to repeat himself, even if the content is good on marketing. But at Valuetainment, you get actual business advice, how to do things, how to grow your company and how to deal with different problems. It gets technical here. And that's the beauty of it. It's like you're reading a book, you're learning all the time. Gary is for entertainment. I watch Gary on a lunch break, maybe. VT is for actual learning, and is what runs in my headphones for the rest of the day while working on the computer. And that's what makes VT unique and the best UA-cam channel for business.
CJ - great to hear. (1) Document the system - (2) Keep the training simple by organizing into little parts - (3) Follow-up 2X a week to ensure they "get it." GO FOR IT! - Tom
I'm so glade you're doing case studies here. I'm getting ready for work so I won't be able to each watch this right today. You have become my daily routine as I would watch or rewatch some of your videos just whenever I have free time
PAT, I really like the way you have integrated Tom Ellsworth into Valuetainment Educational Platform. Thank you Mr. Ellsworth, for sharing your wisdom. After watching this episode, I started to reflect on my own responsibility as a CEO of The Basket Is Full, Inc., a food processing plant in Lincoln, NE. After viewing this Friday lesson seven consecutive times back to back, I just sat at my desk and meditated on these four areas that affect our company: Our companies Functioning speed, processing speed and timing speed and expansion speed. Like yourself, I like to study great people and content. “I am application specialist who does not have dreams, just choices I haven’t made yet.” Jonathan Primo Fuego Galicia President and CEO The Basket Is Full, Inc. Home of the Pur Java™ Brand
Jonathan - Thank you for the kind words! Great to hear that it is useful to you - I looked at your website and am impressed by the culture of your company. Great coffee powers many great entrepreneurs! - Tom
Totally dig the new Friday segment. Interesting to hear the methodology that Starbuck's CEO used for success. A lot of useful information given in this short video. Thank you Valutainment and Tom E. for taking the time to put this together.
+Adebeshin Lawal - I didn't read that book but I read many investor reports. Either way it was a success story. Today though their quality is slipping again. - Tom
VALUETAINMENT its titled Pour Your Heart into It..... if the standard is falling , don't you think , the founder has not really sold the ideal enough or or the ideal is too good to be perpetuated ?
I appreciate this video. The CEO had a sense of urgency to rebirth the customer experience. That brave decision to close all Starbucks for training was a great move. That showed how important a CEO can be for a company.
Indeed the best channel for entrepreneurship. You and your team is not just better than the rest of the channels but it's also giving competition to Entrepreneurship Universities and Colleges. You being experienced and Into-the-Industry makes you so much better when it comes to imparting knowledge, maybe someday you can open up your own university where only the entrepreneurs can come and share good information. I've been following your content from quite a long time now... Keep up the Good Work Sir. Special Thanks for sharing this :)
The way VALUETAINMENT is progressing, soon there will be 1 million subs. Great work Tom, especially by Patrick-bet-david selecting such contents which is valuable for all businessmen community throughout all over the globe.
Fantastic idea for a video! Please keep doing these Pat, learning how companies started can really help put where I am in business in perspective and can help me make the right decisions to move forward
i love it. this was a right on time message because in the next few months i am going to open up a coffee shop so this helped tremendously. I appreciate the time you taken out of your day to help patrick out. That was explained so simple even a child could understand these principles
Tom crushed it! If I'm not mistaken, Howard Schultz went to all of the locations one by one. go figure. It shows us that if you want to dominate the market, you have to be willing to do what the competition isn't willing to do. Keep these case studies coming!
Worked at Starbucks from 2005-2010. Totally remember when they ditched all the fluff (CDs, extra merchandise) and went back to basics. I remember many baristas struggled with the new training and the hot bar line. He closed tons of locations, and did many upgrades. The gold card made a huge difference too!
Wow. Bang on target! Only question In my mind is - How can videos like this be free of cost? God bless UA-cam (Can't deny it's getting full of irrelevant ads).
I also have learn how to do case studies better from you my friend. You are an awesome man to do the best of Case Studies. Love it! All your contents very clear.
+VALUETAINMENT you are on top of it and that's great. I'll continue following. I know I'll learn a lot. Thank you for your contribution to entrepreneurs and society in general.
Good case. Hardest part is to manage a culture while scaling fast. In the end do customers only get back from a positive experience that leaves people better behind than that they found them. It is a rule all hospitality knows best.
***** Oh Alright. Completely agree with you about TOM. It is nice to get to hear from your Mentors and see his skills. Thanks for uploading. This was a brilliant idea. Looking out for the "TOP SECRET PROJECT"
Very insightful, seeing the basics of Starbucks written in its raw form really lets you easily compare it to your own experiences. Thanks for the video
Combat Goose - You are welcome, and that's what I'm trying to do - give you a glimpse into a company that you know make something very easy to understand - Tom
Love this new form of content guys, it was just what this channel was missing. But I do find some of the advice/content is really geared towards B2C businesses only. And that's probably because the majority of start-ups are B2C orientated, but I find a lot of things don't apply to B2B or B2B2C businesses, like mine. In businesses like manufacturing and/or distribution, the eventual success of your product sales relies on the loyalty and feedback of the end-user. However, in most cases you are selling through a diverse supply - chain and aren't getting that 1 v 1 interaction with your crucial end-user, which makes controlling or ensuring a positive customer experience with your product, quite challenging. Could be an interesting segment to shed some light on. Just some food for thought :) Keep up the great work guys!
In a B2B business your distributor, wholesale purchaser or end seller is your end customer. I suggest you push them to get feed back from the B2C side, so they know you are serious. Or have a way to get feedback directly from the end user. List a phone number, email etc and social media these days is automatic feed back like Facebook, Twitter etc.
And this was absolutely amazing Replicate and duplicate... I'm a structural land surveyor mainly road structures bridges. I've been having difficulty hiring someone to take on bridges because of trust issues, that they won't pay attention to detail as I would want them to. Now I've got the answer thanks. Replicate and duplicate.
Thank you for the feedback - it is very satisfying that you found the case study applicable. My best wishes to you - I hope you will find a "protege" to handle bridges the way that you do - with full attention to detail and replicating your high standards. - Tom
Replication is everything. Replication builds momentum. Pay attention to the basics. (replicate = to make or do something again in exactly the same way.)
There're three kinds of people in this world. People who make mistakes and keep making them, people who learn from their mistakes, and people who learn from others mistakes. Thanks for giving power to the viewer. Now let's see if they use it.
Amen - power to the viewer! - Tom
ZackGoes - The three types of people in the world are the doers, the fakers, and the spectators.
How can anyone dislike FREE fucking knowledge like this, WTF is wrong with people of today???
Ngalinda N Pat's competitors haha
People who are losing money because of this, but who cares, they could have done the same thing.
I used to work in a restaurant with a great chef, he always said..."Standards, Standards and Standards, always make sure every customer gets the same standard of service"...exactly like what the Starbucks CEO has done here in large scale. Great teaching Tom, Keep these Case studies coming.
+Dantes Inferno - that's a great comment and it shows the lesson of replication and how it is important even in a restaurant. - Tom
Wow... Tom Ellsworth is brilliant. People commenting that they only came here for Patrick should know that this guy is extremely valuable and offers advice from decades of experience.
Thanks for bringing this guy in VALUETAINMENT!
I am humbled by your kind words! My mission is to add value. - Tom

When you´re growing it's all about replication (product, experience), if you make it right you'll have momentum and the result: Money - Thanks Tom.
This is spot on. Repetition is so key both at the individual level and the company level.
I'm so glade you're doing case studies here. I'm getting ready for work so I won't be able to each watch this right today. You have become my daily routine as I would watch or rewatch some of your videos just whenever I have free time

This is like the summary of Starbucks CEO second book
I have listened to the audio more than 4 times . Its a success story
Very interesting message. Keep it basic. Replication of great service.👍
That's it - replicate the experience. - Tom
I appreciate this video. The CEO had a sense of urgency to rebirth the customer experience. That brave decision to close all Starbucks for training was a great move. That showed how important a CEO can be for a company.
+Reggie Menard - absolutely correct, a great CEO with the proper instincts and a good team around him is all the difference. - Tom

Thanks Valuetainment.
Replication is the key to a big business. Be sure to keep to your roots. Sometimes you need to take a step back to take a step forward.
