I don't think the girl's father got something to do with his daughter's disappearance. For some reason I think the mother knows a lot more then she says she does! She looks sketchy to me, no real emotions.
Vasquez I didn’t either till you listen to the fathers story in his first news appearance where he claims “they were in the parking lot taking a nap” and then she woke up and wanted to go in the mall and he fell back asleep. Then in this video he claims that they were at his house in gleece I think it’s called when she wanted to go to the mall to go to Claire’s so he decided to take a nap in the van while she went in.
I thought the reporters negative commentary..for ex.."ducked back into the house" etc weren't too professional. I believed when he broke down in that first interview years ago. And he shouldn't have been represented in a negative light now. Disappointed in the reporter. I usually favor this guy to his comradettes.
He’s abusive and he also went to her school and forced Bethany out of the classroom. Take a listen to “Searching For Ghost” season 2. It came out 12-24-2017. It’ll give you more info about the father
I think they're both innocent and I'll tell you why. If the Jonnie had something to do with it (her mother, etc), she wouldn't point fingers at her ex because eventually they'd clear him & then they MIGHT look at her. And I just believe him. Maybe he was an abusive jerk, but I don't think he's a kidnapper. To those asking HOW he could fall asleep, he's a truck driver, they sleep in their backseat regularly.
Exactly, he sounds like the typical jerk ex-husband but the mom seems to be the type of parent who alienates the kid from the other parent. The trouble is between adults, not with the kid. The fact that she continuously describes how her daughter "hated her father" and seems pleased with that is horrible to watch, it shouldn't make you happy... it should worry you. It feels like they got caught in a bitter custody fight and the poor kid paid the consequences.
Honestly, I don't know. I feel like he doesn't have anything to do with it. I feel like when he talks, he has no answers so he doesn't really know how to respond. Its so sad that she's missing and I do hope she is found and gets home safely. Most of all, I hope she's alive and that her father has nothing to do with it.
No, he dropped her off alone to mall, and went to sleep in a van/on visitation day...and this is "the first visitation in a long time" because mother took her away when she left him. He's lying.
I personally don't think the dad's involved. My father would have done the SAME exact thing with me at 11 and he even had a van we would sleep in, he made the whole back into this cool giant bed. He HAS done the same thing, falling asleep in a van when I was inside a mall or inside a skating place, alone. My dad would also have gave up on trying to find me like this man did. I really just don't think he has anything to do with it.
Cora Blah nah no offence hun what parent just gives up on looking for there child would your dad at least help the police to find you. I’m just saying.
I am a parent and would not let my 10 or 11 year old alone at the mall while I’m sleeping in the car That’s not what a paren does that’s what a driver does
Irina Cijevschi Agree. He was also seen by others to not want Bethany out of his sight. He goes from not wanting her in a room with adults he knew, to being cool catching some ZZZs while she is in a mall alone?
There is a chance the dad is innocent and that she ran away from the mall because she didnt wanna be with him. That would mean he was a horrible abusive dad but he didnt kill her.

This is a difficult case. Not enough info for me as a reader to even begin. Was the father seen on video in the mall? Was his van seen in the parking lot of the mall? The sketch looked like the kid's mom to me. What's the mother's alibi?
I feel like the mom thinks it was the dad due to a rough separation. I think it was a stranger abduction also wasn't the dad suppose to pick up a friend to go with her......what happened to that
I agree, what happened to the friend; & also if this is your first visit with your child in awhile then why would you let her go into the mall by herself & go to sleep in your van? & the fact that no one ever saw bethany in the mall that day is sketchy to me as well.
Children go missing all the time....sadly. Some are found alive and well, some are never found and sometimes, only remains are found. I can't imagine what either parent are going through and I wouldn't dare to assume the guilt or innocence of either without evidence to back it up. I would be very interested to see a breakdown of body language and micro expressions of both parents to see if anything incriminating was displayed.

but, they said there was limited camera footage to go over, too. however, if my daughter was missing at the mall, every friggin' camera there would've seen me several times over!! i don't find the father believable.
Before it even mentioned that Larry thought the woman in the sketch looked like Jonnie's mother, I was looking at the picture beside Jonnie and they have genuinly similar features
The father is either 100% not involved and genuinely sad and upset by this or he is a very very very good liar. I'm inclined to lean toward the former....he's a father that lost his daughter and has been demonized as a monster for the last 18 or so years. That can turn even the most emotional man into a frustrated man. One can get very tired and annoyed at being labeled a monster....because you would have to be a monster to harm any child let alone your own child. I didn't see that in him.
The way he said “I love my daughter with all my heart” makes me think he really didn’t have nothing to do with her disappearance. He talks about her in present tense as if he still is hoping she’s alive. On the flip side maybe he knows where she is idk but I really am having a hard time believing he did something to her
How could you be in Arkansas, up all night, the next day be in TENNESSEE the next day by 1:30pm....and you let your ELEVEN YEAR OLD girl go to the mall, into the mall, by herself? No supervision?
That drawing does look like her mother though. She could have met up with her daughter at the mall, took off with her and hid her, hopefully. Not to say the father didn’t do anything to the girl. I thought that too but if you look up her Facebook account she actively goes to the missing children events, posts about her daughter. Since this a cold case I find it hard to believe that if she did hide the girl from her father for all these years she would be actively posting and reminding people that her daughter is missing. Im so invested now in this case. I hope she comes home
my sister and I've been in a car on the side of the road while my dad rested his eyes because he didn't want to drive tired. Simplest explanation is always the best. She was abducted, likely murdered, and discarded within days of her having gone missing by a complete stranger. It's a sad cold case that will never be solved.
I'm so sad for all parents who cops, lawyers and fbi tell them DONT talk to the media/tv/ don't go on searches etc in case the child/adult phones or comes home, it makes the parents look guilty when in fact they're not. Hoping that they get closure one day.
A dubious discrepancy that I noticed regarding his account of what happened when he states in the interview quote "We took a nap in the van & she got up wanted to go in the mall, she went in ...." Here he said they both take a nap, and in the second interview he said two things 1} they wanted to GO BACK to the mall 2}I stretched out on the back seat of the van . You're right he does say it a little differently this time. However this time he said they visited all night so it's possible she took a nap in the van (tired from being up all night) when they got to the mall and he just didn't say that part this time (it was many years ago). It just sounds like she never went in the mall since no one saw her and she didn't show up in any surveillance videos. But maybe that's just because there weren't enough cameras to show all areas of the mall.
Or he was never at the mall with her. It easily could be his coverstory. Can't prove one way or the other since I think in those days far less cameras, therefore option that not everything was under surveillance is a good possibility. Then you never can say for sure he and his daughter absolutely were never there. Maybe he counted on that.
Just say maybe he did fall asleep in the van. If Bethany was so afraid of him maybe she snuck away from him. Maybe he caught her and maybe he accidentally killer her or maybe someone kid napped her. I would hope she would smart enough to find security or a cop. But if no one in the mall seen her . I'm thinking he gave her to someone he knows just to hide her.. That's coming from a vision . Have any psychics been brought in.
This is one of those stories where I don't know what side to believe. There's so many holes and missing pieces on both sides. Both parents seem to know more than they're saying. I'm thinking this is one big plot twist and both parents are in on it somehow.
I dont think the father is involved, i fill say if the mother and father stopped the finger pointing at each other maybe they can then start to find the real kidnapper!
Wow. I believe he didnt take her...so strange 'cause I expected to hear SOMETHING out of him- accusing exwife, excusing himself- that was off but Idk it feels like he didnt do it. But why was bethany so afraid of him. Manipulators manipulate. It's what they do. Knowing there's nothing on him could be why he is so confident. I just think mom is a little calm for someone who sent her daughter to her doom. I'd be so guilt ridden I would want to die.
I've been watching this show a lot, I find it interesting that for all the people who are accused of kidnapping or murder, they ignore these reporters. This man came out and talked to them and he seems genuine, even in his first interview, I have watched a lot of accused kidnappers and murderers, their voices don't shake as they speak. This man's voice spoke as he talked about finding his baby and his voice broke and then he's trying to regain his composure, I feel like his emotions are genuine and if I am wrong then the man is a damn good actor. I really don't think he knows where she is.
Blanca Rey I said the same thing!!! She seems so emotionless and talks about her in present tense. She probably faked an abduction from the mall to save her from her dad. and knows exactly where Bethany is right now.
She probably had her in hiding to protect her from the abusive husband there aint nun Wrong w that but i dont get why make up the lies...about the father..and Bethany would be older now so she’s probably still keepin low to protect her mom
@@cailin5309 how is tears welling up emotionless? You have to move on and not let something wreck your whole life. Look at chris watts. He spoke in past tense about his children and then body language specialist says THATS suspicious. When you're hopeful about something you're going to talk about them with hope like they're alive. Stop trying to be detective.
Nancy Marquez the teachers wrote statements about him dragging his daughter out of class wow ur delusional what parent falls asleep in the damn car or truck?a real parent would keep an eye on their child he was the last to see her
He knows what happened to her, he's a lying he said that he was a suspect he goes in comes out with pictures look I love her I wouldn't hurt her. Crosses his arms scratches his face when he's asked questions look at his body language. She's only 11 he takes her to the mall lets her go in by herself and he falls asleep in his van really. There's no way in hell I would have ever let my daughter do that when she was only 11.
ONLY ON WEEKENDS back in those times it wasn’t unheard of. I’m 28 as well and would get rides to the mall and my grandpa would wait outside for me then I’d come out when I was done. People had no reason to be scared back then.
I noticed the body language as well. Also yes I’m in my 30s and moved to Jax, tn by myself when I was 20 and that mall was the first place I went when I got to Jax, tn. Ppl were so friendly I got in a car with a random stranger and went shopping. I came from Cali where u must have known ppl before getting into cars. Idk it’s difficult to say what happened but I do agree the mom seemed sketchy.
You're an idiot. Dad is clearly not involved. Hope you never have jury duty because it sounds like you would let your emotions get in the way of logic and possibly help convict the wrong person.
Hopefully Bethany will be found after all those years. The father looks genuine to me...... he's the first "suspect" who tells his story on camera without saying "call my lawyer for answers". He did great! He can't be the killer, right?
So the dad says he took a nap in the van, right? So my theory is, since the mom and the daughter were BOTH scared of him, Bethany called her mom when he fell asleep so she would come get her and her mom is just hiding her so that the dad will never find her.
I personally think that maybe she was abducted from the mall or maybe even sold as a sex slave by her dad. It sounds farfetched but it happens a lot when people go missing. They’re usually sold into the sex trade or were abducted and then murdered. It’s so sad to think about either one
Mmm🤔...The father and the mother were in a custody battle. Bethany was with her dad at that time..The father saying he was parked at the mall sleeping for 2 hours while letting 11 year old Bethany alone inside the mall. There was no video surveillance of her going in or out of the mall. So seem sketchy to me..The father also told one of his friends that he wanted to take Bethany to Mexico and leave the country but the father denied it....So there is more to this story and the father is not letting on....
The investigators themselves say he won’t cooperate with them and give them an interview. The mother might seem unemotional but the fact is that it’s the dad that needs to talk? Why won’t he?
I know this girl about 25-30 years old that resembles the older version picture...like a whole lot...she works at a makeup store in Cerri t os Mall...she loves to sing...she did my makeover and while she was doing it we engaged in a conversations....which i find interesting...she mentioned to me that she was raised in a foater home....and when she missed her parents she sang to help her cope with the anxiety! Im going back to the store to look for her...maybe🙏
Its possible that its Larry's so called friend that discussed about the van. Bethany might be in the van in Mexico. Something just seemed odd about it not being the case.
👍 something is seriously weird about this 😵 possibly gave her to the wife to raise..he used their daughter to scar the mom for life..yeah he seems convincing years later in the Part 3 clip..but something is not right
Bit weird how the PI claims that the father wasn't open to interviews yet he doesn't walk out of an interview with TCD, maybe he just wasn't telling the PI what she wanted to hear...
I believe the father..the mother has issues with her personality and it seems she's ommiting words from her story. Now the authorities have kept this guy under investigation for decades and he's had to put up with persecution by fellow workers and others in the community..i find it odd the TBI doesn't look at a kidnapping situation here..probably too late to look for anyone now..way to go LE.
At the end when the mother said "bethany's going to come home." She sounded more than sure of it. Any other parent would sound hopeful but still have a hint of doubt behind their words. I think that the mom is guilty and either they have it planned to have Bethany pop out and surprise people or they will make sure to keep her out of the public eye for good. In today's age, from the looks of many crime documentaries, it wouldnt be hard for someone to be under the radar if they wanted to be. As long as the mom doesnt have a slip up, bethany could be in hiding forever even if she walks the streets. Its also not hard for people to change appearances either. Poor dad. I hope he gets to see his daughter again.
tbh i think maybe when she went in to go to the mall she may have ran to try to get away from her father, maybe she got lost or kidnapped by the women in the picture. but that may also be the reason she wasnt shown in any of the mall cameras
Law enforcement looked at all the video from the mall. Did they see the dad looking for her? Because they never mention it. If he isn't on the video looking for her then he's absolutely lying.
This girl is most likely not alive at this point. She'd be 28 by this time. There's no paper trail on her like work history, driver's license, marriage certificate. It's nearly impossible to have a life and not leave a trail. So sad but it happens all the time.
I don't think the girl's father got something to do with his daughter's disappearance. For some reason I think the mother knows a lot more then she says she does! She looks sketchy to me, no real emotions.
Vasquez as someone else said, I think she staged a fake abduction to stop her from seeing her father.
Vasquez I didn’t either till you listen to the fathers story in his first news appearance where he claims “they were in the parking lot taking a nap” and then she woke up and wanted to go in the mall and he fell back asleep. Yes ! I thought the same thing. Most of the claims have no actual proof and she just doesnt seem genuine when speaking.
KatyH_x interesting 🤔 theory
mm no the dad
The dad’s interview was pretty convincing..... and the sketch of the unidentified woman does look similar to mom... 🤷🏾♂️
Looks just like the mother.
The sketch was from 10+ years ago. He was saying it looked like the grandmother not the mother.
Seeing this, I must say I believe the guy.
I agree
Same, these guilty people never agree to speak on the show. The dad agreed to be on it and he answered every question and seemed really sincere.

I’m not getting weird vibes from the father. I’m getting a little weirded out by the mother
This whole thing is whacky
Thank you! I got really weird vibes from the mom as well. The dad seemed really genuine and sincere in his interview.
He seems pretty enthusiastic to talk :/ he's not even trying to avoid them ..
Wait wasn't she with a friend so what happened to the friend?
Lucy Munguia Such a good question!
I was wondering the same thing. Was there ever even a friend picked up? It was said that was part of the plan, but they never mention it again.
No, he dropped her off alone to mall, and went to sleep in a van/on visitation day...and this is "the first visitation in a long time" because mother took her away when she left him. He's lying.
Also they tbi said there was no footage of bethany ever being at the mall
Yea that means he’s lying

she could be held captive and used for sexual reasons.?
To protect her mom.
nwilly77 music exactly cuz her mom would go to jail
Possible she's in a situation similar to the Cleveland abduction. I hope not, just saying
Poor little girl. Hope she gets home safe and unharmed 👏
There is a chance the dad is innocent and that she ran away from the mall because she didnt wanna be with him. That would mean he was a horrible abusive dad but he didnt kill her.

Then you never can say for sure he and his daughter absolutely were never there. Maybe he counted on that.
I had a sense that the dad didn't do anything and then I see all the comments saying the same thing. I think he seems very truthful.
I’m
Beginning to believe the mother knows
Just say maybe he did fall asleep in the van. If Bethany was so afraid of him maybe she snuck away from him. Maybe he caught her and maybe he accidentally killer her or maybe someone kid napped her. I would hope she would smart enough to find security or a cop. But if no one in the mall seen her . I'm thinking he gave her to someone he knows just to hide her.. That's coming from a vision . Have any psychics been brought in.
I kind of want to believe the dad. Most people won’t even talk to crime watch and he seems sincere in my opinion
"I was going to go on Montel Williams" I'm sold 👏
I deeply think that her mother has something to do with bethany
Any security cameras footage ?
It was around 20 years ago. They were not everywhere like we have now. Probably in some higher end shops..jewelry etc
Yes and no proof the dad was there at mall that day with his daughter, so he lying
:( & What happened to JonBenet Ramsey ????
Theresa Taylor the case has been closed since they found out it was her father and his best friend (2017).
wait, where did you see this!!?? is their a video on youtube?
@@arisofetch1527 wow never heard that
DanceMoms AudioSwaps 😂
@@arisofetch1527 not true
This is one of those stories where I don't know what side to believe. There's so many holes and missing pieces on both sides. Both parents seem to know more than they're saying. I'm thinking this is one big plot twist and both parents are in on it somehow.
I dont think the father is involved, i fill say if the mother and father stopped the finger pointing at each other maybe they can then start to find the real kidnapper!
I don`think the father has anything to do with it. Poor little girl. hopefully she`s okay and not dead already...
That father is slicker that an oil spill😂
Liar! A dad that lost his daughter would go to the ends of the earth to find her!
Wow. I believe he didnt take her...so strange 'cause I expected to
hear SOMETHING out of him- accusing exwife, excusing himself- that
was off but Idk it feels like he didnt do it.
But why was bethany so afraid of him.
Manipulators manipulate.
It's what they do.
Knowing there's nothing on him could be why he is so confident.
I just think mom is a little calm for someone who sent her daughter to her doom.
I'd be so guilt ridden I would want to die.
She looks like Kylie Jenner
Mannnn I swear to God I thought the same thing
Except Kylie is transgender. Prob not her .
I believe the dad for some reason idk why he don't seem like he'd kill his baby
... Sums not right
Yeah
Did they leave her?
The Mother knows !
Blanca Rey I said the same thing!!! She seems so emotionless and talks about her in present tense. She probably faked an abduction from the mall to save her from her dad. and knows exactly where Bethany is right now.
That sketch of the misterious woman looks like the mother
She probably had her in hiding to protect her from the abusive husband there aint nun Wrong w that but i dont get why make up the lies...about the father..and Bethany would be older now so she’s probably still keepin low to protect her mom
@@cailin5309 how is tears welling up emotionless?
You have to move on and not let something wreck your whole life. Look at chris watts. He spoke in past tense about his children and then body language specialist says THATS suspicious. When you're hopeful about something you're going to talk about them with hope like they're alive. Stop trying to be detective.
jessie tube OMG yeees, I thought I was the only one! I’m like, uuuuh, that sketch looks just like her.....
teachers saw how Bethany’s dad dragged her out of school
i think he’s responsible
bsb littrellsgrl I mean what dad woudnt be pissed that the mom took his daughter supposebly scapimg him? I think the mom made the story up.
Nancy Marquez the teachers wrote statements about him dragging his daughter out of class wow ur delusional
what parent falls asleep in the damn car or truck?a real parent would keep an eye on their child he was the last to see her
bsb littrellsgrl dude assuming Im delusional and you dont even know me -,- ..
Nancy Marquez i ain’t a dude
He didn't drag her. The teacher wrote that he "walked fast and pushed her(the teacher) to the side"
I believe the father personally, he seems more honest, heartfelt and genuine then the mom.
He even got photos out. He says he loves his daughter and honestly he had way more emotion.
Cailin yeah true! Now a days it's unheard of but in the 90s/early 2000s it was safe.
Hope you never have jury duty because it sounds like you would let your emotions get in the way of logic and possibly help convict the wrong person.
so I'm a idiot because you don't agree whatever...bet you are a liberal Democrat.
My hair is black
But sir it’s not Jet black!!!!
Proving you were trying to hide your identity and walk away completely disguising yourself.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
6:00 - Bam
Maybe the mom got her at the mall. He seems believable.
The dad reminded me of David Schultz. Kept waiting for him to punch the reporter in the nose or start screaming, "Eat it! Eat it now!"
Hopefully Bethany will be found after all those years. The father looks genuine to me...... he's the first "suspect" who tells his story on camera without saying "call my lawyer for answers". He did great!
He can't be the killer, right?
The drawing of the women looks just like the mother!!
You don't send 'the 10yo' to mall alone, and you go to sleep *on your visitation day*
So the dad says he took a nap in the van, right? So my theory is, since the mom and the daughter were BOTH scared of him, Bethany called her mom when he fell asleep so she would come get her and her mom is just hiding her so that the dad will never find her.
Now that theory sounds about right !!
I couldn't imagine letting an 11 year old go in the mall by their self?
I swear this scares me to even get me to step foot out my house...
That old man is a liar. No wonder he's a suspect. Also. I love Jason Mattera.
Thankyou.💔
The dad has me confused because he didn’t look so concerned to try to find her. But at the same time he looks like he isn’t involved .
How can people think its the mother?? That's crazy. She was NOT the last person to see her daughter..She was in the fathers care b4 she disappeared.
Why can’t they charge him with child endangerment?
I think mom knows more then she's saying
This reminds me of a movie I watched - I wonder if it was based on this. That poor kid.
I blame the mother for sure 🤐
I dont think he had anything to do with it. But I dont have the whole story. He did seem authentic.
Well she was 11 when she left and she’s 28 now....she can reach out to her mom if she’s alive. I think there’s more to this story
"Took her to the mall, I took a nap in my van, when I woke up she was gone" yeah sureeeee like who would believe that -.-
tbh i think maybe when she went in to go to the mall she may have ran to try to get away from her father, maybe she got lost or kidnapped by the women in the picture. but that may also be the reason she wasnt shown in any of the mall cameras
Call me crazy but I think her mother has something to do with this.
i dont know why but i believe the dad! i hope they find her too😢
Law enforcement looked at all the video from the mall.
